  1. @Horton sry hear about your injury, it sounds really unpleasant, skiing with a nasty injury doesn't end well, your brain is going to override and take control, you will end up skiing defensively, your brain will only let you ski either side of the injury, fact. Result is you end up in poor position or the wrong place at some point. A lot of skiers have had injuries they think have ended their skiing days, but still ski today. Example ; Aiden Willers Give yourself time to heal, plenty of 28 off, a line length you are comfortable with. Not only physical but let your body and mind regain confidence,to allow yourself to ski freely. Takes time, do not rush, you have nothing to prove here. I wish you a full and successful rehab. I have found in the past, unless it is unavoidable, various supports or aids become more of a hinderance, working on the principle of use it or lose it
  2. @Horton has concerns about your back foot, I noticed that you are double booted, be interesting to know how far apart your feet are, a possible modification to the rear plate could get them closer and reduce heel lift. Just a thought!
  3. Had a good listen to spraymakers podcast, definitely the way to go, it seems that rather than run bouys, spending time & money on perfecting your gates, May pay off in the long run, but you are not going to get perfect skiing conditions every time. It could be expensive 🙄
  4. @Horton Just that taking too much angle can be counter productive, I ask because people suggest I take too much, one particular coach suggested pick a point in front of each ball, including #1 that ensures you get a good turn and hook up, his point of view was, you can create mistakes by over working the pass, when it's not necessary.
  5. I think most people have a budget in mind, per annum what they feel they can spend on there water skiing, with a bit of give and take. I personally have a limit to what I would pay for a set. I certainly would not be paying $170 per set, for my first 50 Tows, Sunset Ranch is asking $140 for a walk in six pass set, not for me either, it might be a case of a group of people wanting to keep the facilities to themselves, I don,t know. Ballers what is your Limit? The boat broke where I was, skiing and the only place nearby was $80 so forced to go with it.
  6. I would like ask, what sort Angle are we looking for or is it a case whatever you can cope with and keep control.without the boat taking control?
  7. @ColeGiacopuzzi I am a bit confused, basically if you wait until the Gate bouys appear behind the boat, are you or are you not going to be running late from the get go. I get Hortons idea of visualising the Gate Bouys when the Boat maybe obstructing the view of the R/H bouy
  8. @Horton, I like that ! never thought about it in that way, looking at the gates through the Boat, I have been using the front of the boat but there can be variables with that, especially if width varies, also your focus is on the front of the boat and not the Gates. Thankyou, I may have to change or at least try to see if it works for me.
  9. Hi Ballers Do you use Visual Cue for Gates ? What works for you, Bouy aligment or Boat Placement or Other Method. Do you adjust for line lengths ?
  10. More to the point does Nautique want Freddie at the Masters, missing out on one of the Top Skiers, behind their boat , another Ten Minutes of Nautique coverage, what cost do you put on that, somebody needs to have a rethink, missing out on a Great Marketing opportunity. So the Battle between the top six skiers, Freddie would be one of those, if Nate took the win against those skiers, being sponsored by Nautique, how good is that for them, clearly they are quaking in their boots, and want to reduce the odds, against Will or Freddie taking the Title, don't get me wrong there are other Great skiers, capable of causing a upset.
  11. Hi Ballers Nautique 200 (approx 2 years old) Cautionary Info, we had a oil pump failure, which required a engine replacement, then with 800hrs it happened again, fortunately there was still some warranty left on the boat, we religiously change the oil and maintain the boat to a high level. Oil pressure is indicated on the screen as KPA and not PSI, typically 140 KPA is Approximately 20 PSI What I am suggesting is that you monitor your KPA it might save you a new engine. Our failures seemed to be instant not gradual though. Hopefully the Engine suppliers, will get the issue sorted.
  12. Such a wide range of different things to get into, some, activities cost of equipment only, no Lake/Boat/Driver required. Typical examples kite surfing, cycling, mountain biking, etc Water Skiing has become very expensive, I have recently been told that there is a place in california, for a walk in six pass set they want $140. 🙄
  13. Skiers, Skis, have improved and moved with the times, quite clearly the Masters Setup has not. No improvements from the organisers, clearly they have not moved with the times, knowing the issues, they have not made any improvements, is it Lack of Funds, Lack of Interest or Lack of Know How. Organisers at other Lakes are constantly looking to improve their setup, I have been to one lake and spent over a Hour in the water, because the Owner wanted all the bouys set at exactly the same height, boat lane included, it wasn't, a case of that will do, it had to be right. Attention to Detail, makes a Good Experience for All. As Others have pointed out, there are Solutions to overcome some of the issues at Robin Lake.
  14. If a Top Competitor is denied the chance to compete, then it devalues the Event, if you win a event and the field was restricted, to a lot of top competitors, it is not classified as a win, to be the Best you have to beat the Rest. Words are just Words, if somebody strikes somebody, physically threatens, or verbally threatens somebody, that's a whole different world. On Reflection maybe six of one and six of the other. The whole thing, just does not help the Sport, saddened by the whole thing, it seems the Masters is one of those events, that just cannot get it right, always some sort of controversy.
  15. Ok so Freddie has been Banned from the Masters, for what ever reason, moving on, why the ban on other Nautique Events for him, by the way The King Of Darkness Event was spot on and the Mastercraft performed and looked Awsome , would love to see more of the Mastercraft, it's a Great Boat to drive and ski behind.
  16. @ColeGiacopuzzi Hi there, after claiming the 2023 was not turning for me , I rechecked the fin which was incorrect, the ski now turns, may be a little too much, not the smoothest of hook up, (sometimes but not consistent) I would like to back it off just a little, are we looking at a fin adjustment or binding movement ? still on stock Short and Deep Many Thanks Stevie
  17. Lots of valid points, I am sure people are saying "I Wish That" or "If Only" but regardless of the outcome, Right or Wrong, why did the Officials knowing that the whole Scenairio was a bag of worms, not take a time out to, establish some sort of calm, was it Nautique or was it the Officials that Initiated the call for a ban. Sometimes life is not fair and eventually we have to live with the final outcome on that day. Why Ban the Athelete who had the misfortune to be involved in failures and errors outside of their control. I still cannot get my head around the Ban !
  18. I am sure there is a lot going on behind the scenes and various communications being made to the IWWF,with this in mind it is unlikely the people involved will come forward and make any form of statement, the question is will the IWWF review events and act in a positive, fair and unbias way without being influenced by a outside party.
  19. @lpskier I think you are spot on, with the Judges, but why did Nautique get involved, if there were no actions that brought Nautique into disrepute, what grounds do they have to interfere. I,m done with this one now, moving on.
  20. Does the Rule Book not say, in these circumstances the Skier should get the benefit of the doubt or a ReRun ? Does Nautique have the right to ignore the rules and become Judge and Executioner ? Is there a separate set of rules specific to the Masters ?
  21. Or though, I respect the time and efforts officials put in, unfortunately we have seen some , questionable decisions in the past, that may have cost Athlete's a Title or a place on the Rostrum, resulting in loss of prize money or sponsorship deals. Throw Passion and the feeling of injustice into the mix and emotions take over. Unfortunately those involved on both sides, can over react, but ultimately there are no winners, everybody loses.
  22. Left Hand Steering, Right Hand Throttle and Stop Watch
  23. @coach3 I will have a look next time I ski, the weather here has been awful, apart from being chilly, the last 10 days or so have been windy with rain. Front Tfactor with RTP running stock numbers short and deep
  24. @ColeGiacopuzzi Hi the water temp here is about 8 degrees at the moment, 2023 Vapor Pro 67, little reluctant to turn, any suggestions regarding fin settings. Thanks
