It was never going to happen to me. but it did after 53 yrs of skiing.
now all my friend ski with them
it's like riding a bike or motorcycle with out a helmet. why not use one. no down side
protect your love ones get a guard!
@swbca put the binding in hot water then put it on. it will break in I'm a size 11 in a med large was to big for me they will break it a fit awesome IMO
I love my t factor I would call it a hybrid binding not a rubber binding in the way it feels and performs
Been in a reflex Blk shell for 12 years replacing the system every two years due to wear
No mire flattening soles and cutting plastic so it works right
I’m Surprised more skiers are not in this boot
This boot moves with you and does not punish mistakes but has tons of power
Plus a WR And many 41
If this was the WC snow skiing all the others racers would be using or at least testing this boot
Put a soft plastic tongue from a old rollerblade or snow ski boot liner use a seam ripper to rake it out slide it under the instep strap stays in place makes the forward flex just a little stiffer
@cruznski in 1989 ARC went it to production we made 100 pair our first year
@keithh2oskier 25lbs its crazy heavy plus that ski was no light weight skiing 36mph get into -32 on that I bet I could make my opener on it now.
1986 ARC Proto hard shell
the reflex would come out in 1994 The Goode Velcro system 1993 I believe
In 1992 we had roller blades that we would heat up and flatten the sole Then bolt them to the Uhmw sole plates thick and stiff and heavy base plates
MOB still uses the release system
I now use a D 3 T factor and I must say it Ski’s very well and way less maintenance
@skialex please get a new guard that is hard plastic.!!!! make one or buy a FM or MOB guard
that will only keep you from going through, but it will still catch and grab you head and yank it
I would hate to see anyone go through what I went through not fun!!
get a guard and crank down the spring on your reflex release.
if you can pull it off on he dock easy you can prerelease easy also.
@dbutcher the guard I was using stopped my head going trough. It just conformed enough for a quick yank yes I believe if it would of been using FM guard like I have now I might of had a scratch or two.
I pray no one else has to test their handle guard
Put on a guard even if it’s duck tape it could save your life
Ps been skiing 39 sets now running-28 over and over told wife nothing but opener for most of the summer
@ALPJr The light gray price is a plastic tongue
I took it out of a head jr rental ski boot liner with a seam ripper it is Thin soft plastic
I used tongues in my hard shells also
Ya folks say tongue are bad,
then they rivet the lower and upper shell together ?
The tongue and the elastic band on top give me the forward support I want
If you think a rope bar or soft guard will work well here is my answer after testing a soft version last July
IMO A soft material will conform and give you a quick yank a hard plastic guard will deflect
Pic of handle that was used and New handle guard
I now use a FM on a In tow Handle
Might miss a handle grab once in awhile but I will go home
