  1. @rico Great idea, I'm passing that one along! Also they have a cute new Neo/Lycra shirt with Hoody and here's a pic of the Blacktec 2mm:)
  2. Help for Horton...Official name Camaro Ultradry Rashguard made for Guys in Blue and Gals in Purple UV 50+.
  3. Worn Clinchers, now Pro Locks for years and use a 1.0 tried the small dia but the smaller handle makes me feel there is too much stuff crammed in my palm :)
  4. Just in time for Mothers Day and also a great choice for all gals out there...Check out the new "Bling" vest from Eagle(this photo does not do it justice). I have to say from the first time I saw an Eagle vest over 7 years ago and thought it was the coolest thing ever til now they still are the coolest. Chuck and his staff are always coming up with new hot designs, no more generic unisex vests it is really great that anyone can get any color any size just the way you want it! This comes in 3 stone colors and can be ordered totally custom! Check it out on my store site robbysskishop.com or Eagles, or better yet buy it! PS Don't forget to use your Baller discount:)
  5. FYI getting the full SkiSunsetRanch professional wash and wax on Saturday before the trip to Bako:)
  6. Camaro also making some really cute new gals waterski gear too!
  7. We have had many different lake liability policies over the years, from many different insurers and never been happy. The main reason for our unhappiness was price. We have always felt we paid crazy premiums for a fairly safe sport...I always chalked it up to small sport not very many policies sold. Now for the good news on two fronts---one was the suggestion of Wayne Feinberg 518-891-2020 at Sports Insurance who we received a quote back from today. The quote was for the exact same coverage and deductibles we have always had for 1/3 the price! Second part of the good news, without this forum and its contributors information like this would never be passed around, so excited! Thanks to @lpskier, @sunperch, @skikolb, ect!
  8. I suggest you buy her an Eagle, to have it longer than standard there is a custom up charge but... then she can have it exactly as she wants it. That goes for all her measurements and in any color or pattern she wants in the same charge. That is a home run!
  9. We use Global Marine for boat and lake, Jeff Heydlauff (JHeydlauff@globalmarineinsurance.com) FYI... $$$ :( but virtually no choices in this little niche.
  10. It has come to my attention lately, that just because I know who I am, others don't? LOL! So, this is who I am...I am waterskigirl a "Baller" since November of 2009, yikes! I am also Robby of Robbysskishop and 1/2 of SkiSunsetRanch. I am a decent waterskier and posted my share of tournament scores, having been involved in the sport for over 20 years. Loved it so much that in 1996 Doug and I built(yes, we are both crazy) our own lake Sunset Ranch. For many years we had a club and hosted tons of tournaments and then started doing the waterski vacations about 8 years ago. We have lived under the philosophy if we build it they will come and so far so good! We started our pro shop 7 years ago as a convenience for our guests and its moved on from there. We ski on and sell D3s, sell and stock lots of Eagle, Camaro and Masterline, know the products because we use them. Offer all Ballers a discount on pro shop purchases(click on my ad to see info on "Baller" discounts)! I encourage customers with questions to pick up the phone and call. You might run into someone who has bought one of our Centurion Carbon Pro school boats, we love them! We jumped in right away and had one of the first boats built and they do nothing but improve. As our resident driver I know first had how they handle since I drove over 400 hours last year alone. I am an advertiser here, doin my part to support the forum that keeps our sport connected! PS Also, very proud of the awesome article about our place in the April Waterski Mag!
  11. Yeah, it is safe and well taken care of for now... Waterski Mag even thinks so! :)
  12. @mrjones that is a really good question! I get asked all the time, just not sure how many out there have an old Titanium 2mm shorty and a new Black Tec 1mm shorty to do a head to head comparison? If you are out there, sound off...People love both the 1mm new Black Tec shorty and the 2mm full suit, it makes sense that the full suit is warmer it covers more of your body.
  13. For the record as a dealer currently selling the full line... Open cell-discontinued were black 1mm/2mm full suit, no mas in the US a few might be found in some random sizes online somewhere. Titanium-discontiued the were silver 2mm suits, shorty and full, no mas in the US a few might be found in some random sizes online somewhere. Black Tec-currently the main water ski suit is black 1mm glued and blind stitched seams in shorty and top and 2mm in the full suit comes in kids and adult unisex sizes Modetec Titanium-NOT discontinued is currently Camaro's premium line fits like a second skin you pay more for the seamless bonding designed not to let water in through the seams. The product comes in top, shorty and full suit, all are silver 0.5mm and unisex. I do believe it gets confusing for two main reasons-they use the word "Titanium" in relation to the material the silver scs coating of the current Modetec line and they used "Titanium" before to refer to the suits that were discontinued, and both are silver color. Going forward if you pay attention to the thickness, it is easier to understand which suit is which. Whew!!! I think that covers it, if you are still unsure, size questions, email me or call me anytime.
  14. Titanium was discontinued 2 seasons ago, if you search the internet you might find one left somewhere, if you do grab it...the new suit is Black Tec, great also! Black Tec is 1mm the old Titanium was 2mm, but you can only get that made by Camaro now in the full suit. The 0.5 Modetec is Camaro's best suit made to fit like a second skin but, I wouldn't wear it in water much colder than that...but I am a Californian we think were freezing much below 70f/21c LOL :)
  15. The Titanium coating was pretty fragile to being rubbed on, wearing where arms hit vest has been fairly common, most likely, why they moved onto Black Tec time will tell if it holds up better. Ask your dealer to talk to Camaro for you they are usually pretty good.
  16. We had been using blue lagoon, but when this thread started Keith sent us 1 jug to try and that ended up lasting most of the rest of the season! We are switching to Sensient, it has really good color and is so easy to apply... the color in our pic(earlier in this thread) was after adding Sensient last summer :)
  17. So excited, that they used so much of the footage shot at our place, (SkiSunsetRanch) by a crew specifically looking to make the 2014 Carbon Pro ads. But you gotta love how beautiful the lake looked that day(nothing like free vid) this is the first time we have seen any of the footage that was our 2014 boat too(sold now)! Ok, I know... I'm bias...LOL!!!! Thinking of going with that color again this season, it looks sooo good on the water, thoughts?
  18. FYI, to those who have inquired recently...Just received all sizes of the Camaro 2mm full suit. Happy Holidays! :)
  19. Phosphates, by products of many things, dead leaves, fertilizer use, ect concentrate in the lake water over time creating a perfect "stew" that algae and weeds love. Key is to reduce phosphates creating an unhappy environment for growth of either. Most of the time cure options seem to be cost related...now that we have treated with Alum lowered the"stew" levels, we spend less on dye and algaecides. We are motivated by wanting to have a clear looking clean lake without having to battle weeds and algae, now we have that! It just took 17 years to get there LOL!!!!
  20. @Toddl and others...wanted to address the "fragile" Camaro comments...they are! But, can they be used in our world without issue absolutely! The coating is what is more sensitive...than your grandpas old school thick heavy neoprene. Fingernails and ruff stuff in general is not their friend...you cant rebuild the jump ramp in it or play ball with the dog...but for sure you can waterski in it very comfortably. They also need to fit tight to do their job well, but sometimes that means help ziping. If it worries you Eagles heater suit shorty is great and no issues with the coating. Eagle drysuiits are awesome and strong too! All great stuff, gotta go with what suits your style...Hope that helps? If not reach out anytime if you need more info, I sell all of them and have a good idea of sizes and uses work best.
  21. @Horton Welcome to the land of waterski lake ownership=lake water quality managment! We have had great success with Alum, it is not for all... but really turned our water quality and clarity around. We actually now inject Alum whenever we add fill water to the lake...let me just remind everyone that if you manage the Ph, you then auomatically manage weeds and alge by creating an unfavorable environment for their growth. It comes down to how you want to manage the weeds/alge herbisides work well too! We have fish that we did not want to kill, so we searched for a fish friendly product. Alum's long term and best data can be found for its use in the Florida Everglades vernal pool management...anyone interested in our experience reach out anytime...as the other Norcal lake owners have.
  22. Thanks so much for all the positive feedback...watch for a "Ballers" only special for the holidays! Looking for Eagle, Masterline or Camaro, don't hesitate to reach out to me...I really appreciate your support! :)
