  1. @thager blocks and heads are aluminum as well.
  2. The dock de-icer us working hard at my dock this morning!
  3. @MDB1056 magnetic works as long as your oil pan is steel, not the case with the new D.I. engines.
  4. I received one of the new ultra light weight MasterLine vests as a Christmas gift. This is the closest I have seen to the super light weight Straight Line vests that aren't made any more. Maybe even lighter. If it doesn't absorb water when wet as advertised, they have a home run on their hands!
  5. I skied there a few years ago, the lake skis really nice and I love the part of Florida it is in!
  6. If Masterline runs a sale on tournament packages as they did a couple years ago, I think many LOC's would be upgrading their tournament ropes this year:) Is there any research going on with jump ropes? It seems that a lot of the better jumpers are using the green ropes they get elsewhere. Although the number of jumpers is way smaller than slalom skiers, many only want to use their ropes for a limited number of sets to ensure they still have good stretch and recoil. This may be a market segment worth recapturing!
  7. @MISkier I was told one time that the only place a chopper gun is used is in very tight / small areas where fiberglass cloth would likely not stay and create a bubble.
  8. @balsamcutter The outboards and boats would be fine if there was a deicer under the dock.
  9. Murphy being an optimist and all, that light bulb could pick the absolute worst time to burn out. Old style bulbs put out heat, corkscrew bulbs put out much less, and the ones with the lowest chance of burning out, LED, put out almost no heat.
  10. On my last tour of the Nautique plant I saw all fiberglass cloth being cut by CNC cutting machines and folded up into a kit for each boat. I am confident the fiberglass content is exactly the same for each boat. On the parts that are made in a closed mold (like the swim platforms) all excess resin is vaccumed out and all should be extremely close. I seem to remember that weight is monitored as they are being sprayed, but not sure of the details there and am certainly not knowledgeable of the current process but confident of continuos process improvement.
  11. I believe the trailers are no more than 102". The guide poles may be wider but are easily removable.
  12. @Rednucleus That us a GREAT idea! I would say at least 6 for the course and a bunch more for the approaches and tum islands. A couple miles of really big extension cords, and a HUGE electric bill with all of those 3/4 horse electric motors running:) But if you did that you wouldn't get to ice skate through the course!
  13. And THIS is the solution to keep the water around your dock from freezing.
  14. THIS is the best solution I have found for this problem. Double redundant, two complete systems, marine approved for bilges, waterproof (although I wouldn't want to submerge one). Much better than the drop light scenario where a light bulb could burn out.
  15. @Cnewbert I doubt that weighing a single example of a model would be a good yard stick. It would be interesting to weigh a statistically significantly sample size to determine weight variance between supposedly identical models. Even more interesting would be a front/rear and right/left weight distribution analysis of identical models. I would bet there is much more variance than most people would expect. Even when fluid flow tests are consistently performed and flow rates tweaked on computerized paint robots there is significant film build variation in auto manufacturers paint booths. How much variation do you think there is when fiberglass resin and chop are hand sprayed for the entire thickness of a fiberglass layup by humans?
  16. PRP is a lot cheaper and has worked very well for me 14 out of 16 times. The two times it didn't work were hail Mary's trying to avoid surgery. The MRI showed that the rotator cuff was completely detached, but tried prp just in case there was some attachment that didn't show up in the mri.
  17. @JeffSurdej I would be in favor of the two year scenario which would add yet another division...U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, M1, M2, ....Jump speed / height in U16 & U18 / same as current B3. Or leave out U16 and have U18 a four year division. That way you don't bring a lot of kids into 35 MPH 5 1/2 jump who may not be physically ready. They will bump up the speed and height to try to compete. I don't have a horse in the race but the is my 2 cents worth.
  18. @HighAltitude Acme 1458 which is a 13×14 with a .135 cup. It us the only approved 3 blade for the 200 and 2019 ski Nautique
  19. I voted 1 to 3, but actually is a negative number as my 2nd 2019 hasn't been started yet and my 1st sold. Perfect situation for winter!
  20. @oldjeep apples to oranges in this case. The 3 blade is a larger diameter but lower pitch and actually more blade area. Other than high altitude the stock 4 blade shipped on the 6 liter on the 200 hits the rev limiter softly around 50 mph The 3 blade hits the limiter hard at around 46.5 mph. It only takes it a couple seconds to hit it with the 3 blade.
  21. @oldjeep The approved acme 3 blade definitely has a ton more hole shot, and is a great jump prop, good for trick, but not a good slalom prop. When I run the 3 blade in tournaments for jump, I ALWAYS put the 4 blade back on for slalom.
  22. @HighAltitude Don't buy the 3 blade planning to use for slalom, you won't like the pull (brutal strong with the 6.0) or wake. They also vibrate a lot. If I were you I would go with the 12.5 x 15 and have the cup bumped up from .105 to around .130. Also, tell your neighbor to quit pushing with his back leg when he gets up:)
  23. My first year experience with the seadek this year was great. When it gets a little dirty, stick a garden hose in, rinse it out, boat is dry and smells great in an hour, much better than stinky carpet that never drys, especially the part that went under the gas tank in the back. I can see where a minimalist bare fiberglass option could have advantages as well.
