  1. provided you are not at altitude over 2500' and you are only utilizing it for slalom and general waterski activites you should get real close to a similar equipped 196 fuel wise. As the earlier report around 11% increase over a 196with a stock set up. Skiability I find no noticable diference with my set up as far as how it feels behind the boat. I skied with Cory's 08 197 MC last week and it felt horriable in comparison.
  2. I use a strada front and a D-3 high wrap rear. though I just got in a strada rear to try from Tadd today.
  3. Ed, just my experiances with the 2 200's that I have had I prefer the 2011 CB with the 13X15.5 4 blade OJ over the stock 654 ACME. I really can not tell any difference at the wake but the OJ brings the RPMS down substancially back into a range that I feel comfortable with. I have had it over at Cory's with the OJ and just about everyone that has skied the boat think it is a great feeling boat to slalom with. I also dont mind running a 422 ACME as it runs very similar on the boat as the OJ again cant find any perceved issues at the wake, Now if you want to talk tricks my son Stephen feels that the OJ has less table turbulance then the ACME, But this is BOS and we could get warned for talking tricks!LOL!!! When things warm up I will be more than happy to lend out the OJ for your own evaluation just pick up the shipping tab. Jody
  4. Russell that is correct you should make sure your boat has the "approved" equipment when participating in tournaments. I install the "apporved" prop on my boat when it goes to tournaments but install the prefered prop for my needs as soon as it gets pulled out and goes back to the site we ski on day to day. Besides it is the tournaments gas and not mine that is getting used. The "approved" equipment is not always the best for the tournament. Keep in mind the the only reason all the manufacturers run the props they run is for the drag race test (power and acceleration) that the tow boat committee decided was representing how a boat gets into a course or pulls a jumper. If you all could see how some of these boats are presented to the test you would see stripped down interrior, no tower no bimini top and they still can not make the time. Is it time for towboat criteria to change? yes it is! Will they AWSA implement a change? No they wont!! I am just glad they dont tell me what kind of tires to run on my trailer!! RANT?Â
  5. 11% that is far less than the 30% that many claimed. Russell why did you run the 14.25 and not go to a prop that would have better diminished the higher rpms down to something around 3800 at 36 and 3600 at 34?. As far as the 6 liter I ran for the most part a prop that kept the rpms way down from what the boat came stock with and seat of the pants it seemed about the same as my 09 with the same motor. it is real hard to calulate fuel usage but when it warms up i plan running diacom and reading fuel consumption while in the slalom course with a skier. Thanks Russell for the report.
  6. Ham you hit the nail!! Even though I ski about 30% of the time over at Cory's the other 70% is at Deerpoint lake where it is public and we have a lot of fun. some times we have to put up with wake hoppers and some times we have to put up with tuber-freeks. but for all and all we operate 6-8 passes the next skier is waiting on the platform ready to go. One thing we do is see to it everyone has a chance to ski at both the private site and public "no on left behind". Agreed their are a lot of Anal old whinny skiers left in the sport and they have run a number of potential young skiers off with a bad experiance's. If you want to ski with me remember to bring a smile and a passion for the lake life and take the snivilling elswhere.
  7. I tried that ski last year and found it real slow and did not like the be real patient in the turn. Skied about 10 sets figeting with and with out wing. Needless to say it was not a ski for me and I went back to the SixAm. I Will try a Radar this spring.
  8. Why do you need a diagnostic tool? e-mail me with the problem. I utilize Rinda technologys Diacom. As for using OBDII could not say but I doubt it can be utilized. Not very often is their a problem that requires a scan tool. Â
  9. Of course it is feesable but the question you have to ask yourself is it worth the hassel and $$$$Â on a old Flightcraft? Me I prefer to restore Correct Crafts and MasterCrafts and maybe an American Skier. You can find these boats out their in very nice condition that you dont have to do anything but turn the key and ski. By the time you get done with the Flight Craft you will have at least 10K into it. I checked the Craigs list add and it has been taken down. Does it make sense? That is up to you and your check book!
  10. You can get it for $7300.00 plus get you into ZO system for another $1,600.00 plus shipping thru Florida Inboards Inc.
  11. Age 53! I may old but I am still imature!!! Party At my house too!! Sold the 2010 Ski 200 this week!!!
  12. I have been skiing on the Sixam 2Point now for three years and wish Obrien would continue to build the ski. I am told that the current seige skis very similar to the 2 Point but as some one else pointed out it is a glass ski and heavier. I have seen the Seige on Evil-Pay for under $200.00 . I am currently on the search for a 66" Blue top Sixam 2 Point if any one has one with very little ride time or new and wants to get rid of it I am a player.
  13. Mr. ski Freek more power to ya! You are on the right track in regards to development of a totally new ski boat. My advice for your project is to do some real background analysis on the success rate of those that have tried before you and also do you have a around a million dollars for start up and tooling costs? The cost analysis that I did about five years ago to produce a limited number (50 units) went right close to that figure. Material cost on one unit will run somewhere around $8,000 and that does not include hardware and of course the engine package, and unless you commit to a specific number of engines you will not get the same pricing that the big boys get. New chop strand dispensing units will run over $30,000 and you need two. Unless you have spent the last 10-30 years collecting and investing in shop tools and equipment you will pay out the Arse for equipment, adequate compressor. Overhead lifting equipment the list goes on and on. Then their is the fact that you have to pay your limited number of employees before any unit hits the end users hands. Then their is the building you are producing in,,, you don’t want to rent you really need to own the property and building. and lastly their is the EPA you know the government, them rascals have their mitts in everything and they create environments that you have to abide by or no end product. By all means we do need a ski boat for the masses and you may have a new mouse trap so go for it and good luck! Really!! Cheers! Â
  14. No it is not a typo. In the Pan Am's A better performance in a early round will score higher overall points then a lesser score in a final round, another words just because a skier wins the final and the event does not mean they will win the overall. Whitney had a big first ropund trick score that carried thru to the final as her best score for the tournament yet she was beat in the final by Regina with a lesser score than Whitney's first round score. Going into the final of jump Whitney jumped a couple of meters beter than she has in quit a while, Regina needed to jump up in her PB territory to win overall yet she still out jumped Whitney but again lost the overall to a previous rd score. Man! I hope This all makes sense......
  15. I should probably refrain from this one! /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif But the stripper poll! Ya ! Bring it!
  16. Hey! I have two handles that have bent thatway on their own, but they did not do it until after I installed handle guards. Seems strange but I sent one back to the manufacture and was told I need to loose weight?!?!?!!! (funny). My Son bent one that way on purpose a few seasons ago and skied on it for the past two seasons, but I cant say if it did anything for him. He did tell me he was going to bend his new handle the same way but it was because he liked the way it felt in his hands during the pull transition.
  17. A older sport Nautique or 216 nautique might also fit your needs. The 196 Correct Crafts really do not put a decent shape wake as when you load them up they wash out. but they do very well what they were designed to do and is slalom and jump. Also an X-7 MasterCraft would fit your needs, they came with towers some balast and were nothing more that a 197 with bling. Cory uses one at his ski school for three events and wakeboarding. Good luck! I too have a boat for sale also, a 2010 Ski 200 I have two of these and dont need but one. Price is right!!!
  18. Lets add a new one! 30*20'19.43NÂ Â Â 85*26'26.48W In Panama City a new site that will hold it's first tournament on the second weekend of June this year. Cool!

  22. "Are you sure? Ralph Sr. goes WAY back with Hortons " Pretty sure! After 20 years of associating, working and traveling with Mr Ralph I know the family pretty well.  Mr Ralph has many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Mr. Ralph still gets around pretty well as he is in his early nintey's and still try's to come into his office at the factory every day. The Meloon's and Able's are involved with our sport in many ways, and have been for many years. Austins Aunt is the 2011 US Master's tournament director.
