    How old can boats be for tournaments in USA? In 2012, pre-ZO boats will be 5 year old. I guess it would be good for all older boat owners, that will be able to train behind something similar to what they will get on a tourney, but I do not foresee too many tournaments behind ZO sim...

    Looks like you went to an otrhop. surgeon and he did not help. Was it a sports-oriented one? Many times some doctors will assume that anyone over 50 that can operate the tv remote is in terrific shape...

    @Scot, I believe you are right in the USA, but not in other places. Usually, in IWSF tournaments, there is just one boat brand. Also, my understanding is that pros do not get a huge amount of money from the boat sponsors (nor from any sponsor unfortunately...) that would justify only attempting a world record behind their boat...

    I do not think any skier would "opt out" from a world record because of the boat, Jamie Beauchesne did not in France behind a Malibu (although it did not stand later). I am not sure if CP was behind his sponsoring boat in both the 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 @ 43 a while ago.

    I used to tweak my fin in different water temps, but the Z7 and Z7 ST seem to be less sensitive to it. Will tell for sure next week, after switching from a cozy 13C water in Santiago to a brisk 27C in Atlanta...

    IWSF specifies 30 cm +- 6cm, which is roughly a 9.5" to 14" range.
