  1. We are getting our new SN 200 w 5.7 engine next week.  The recommendation we got was "It’s ready to roll. But I always take it out going 20 miles anhour for 2 minutes then give it full throttle for about 2 seconds. Do that acouple of times." Everybody does the same?
  2. After a couple of very prolific years for waterski movies, looks like this year there is nothing new out there? Or did I just miss some? Â I think that film producers out there should sell their work in the net (downloads) to avoid distribution costs and save the environment.
  3. Question was How do we really want to ski? Who do we want to ski like and why?So, as I read, we do not talk about scores. To me, April for sure. My old and abused back would not stand too much of Regina's skiing, and my knees and hips cannot be put in the angles Adam does without resulting in breakage, blood and loose body.
  4. OB, a friend more than over indulged at our 20 years high school anniversary reunion. He got home at 5 AM in the morning, when his family was supposed to leave at 8 AM for the baptism ceremony of their youngest member. When facing the angry significant other, he told her to f**k off and crashed in the sofa. Different result than your friend, he is still asking forgiveness, and had to put more than his neck and other relevant body parts on the line to get authorized to go this year to the 25th. He is not my hero at this stage... Tales about him the following day between 7 AM and 2 PM are legendary...
  5. Does anyone have a policy of cleaning equipment and boats before going into their private lakes for people coming from other lakes/regions?
  6. Top 5 scores of all stops will qualify as well.
  7. The Latin American Senior Tour has joined forces with Big Dawg, and will be part of the Big Dawg circuit now. Â http://skibigdawg.com/DawgFoodNews.html
  8. In Chile, a set costs around US$ 30 if you do not own part of a private ski lake. It might be tricky to get water time on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays if you are not an owner. However, and although the price is larger in proportion to the average income than in Europe or USA, we have more and more skiers every year. Small country and small skiing community, but with a healthy and steady growth. One factor is probably that the economy here has been booming over the last 20 years, probably putting a larger portion of the population over the "skiing limit line".

    ZO Analysis

Stagnant period for slalom records? What are you talking about? Open Men and Women records were broken this year. That did not happen since the 1990's. Â Do you try the suggested driving drill while towing a skier in your lake? I guess he would have something to say about the driver...
  10. The fact of the SN 200 being tested with the 6.0 engine implies that the 5.7 version is not an approved towboat??
  11. I am a firm believer on the importance of proper fin adjustmemts. When I got a new ski, I usually started with some magic numbers provided by experts (Seth, JD, etc...), and then adjusted depending on how the ski behaved. I did adjust the fin when changing water temp (winter 10°C water and summer 25°C water here...). Did that consistently with my Goode 9300, Nomad, Nomad RC, Nomad RCX.  However, with the Z7, I put the magic numbers, and never moved them. Could not find anything wrong with the setting. Got some pretty good coaches in the lake, and they told me the ski (not the skier or the skiing) looked good and nothing needed to be adjusted. Skied one full year without changing it, then switched to the Z7 ST and, up to now, same thing. Not saying that the ski is from outer space or that it increased dramatically my buoy count, but just cannot find anything to tune or change.  Anyone having the same with that ski or with another ski?
  12. I will be lucky enough to witness the PanAm, so hope Regina will be ripping 39 off in Santiago as well!
  13. I have been told to keep the handle level to avoid leading with my shoulders in my offside. And not leading with the shoulders translate to shoulders level and open to the boat. And, as it is difficult to have shoulders level and open to the boat without counter rotating, there you go...
  14. Paul's service is as good as it gets in any industry. I work in Enterprise software for large companies. I wish we (and our competitors are not better) were able to provide the average response time Paul has. Taking in account some of our customers pay millions each year for support...
  15. That is one of the best articles ever. It made me realize why sometimes people that looked good in the course skied less buoys than some that look in poor shape but consistently run a good buoy count.
  16. Have not ridden the Strada, but the Z7 ST has plenty of speed and turns pretty well.
  17. Deep = what you say when you get past 3 and want people thinking that you almost ran the pass...
  18. I think the rule is simple: if the skier has slack in the rope when crossing the line of the gate buoys, score is 1/2 a buoy. Corollary of the rule for AB's and ShaneH's buoys: Wife has to give some slack to be able to use AB's practice buoys.Â
  19. I think that you can lighten up rules before a "fun tournament" starts, and the "lightening" should be known by everyone. We do that, we have friendly tournaments where you can miss one (or more) buoys in your opener and continue, but not fall. If you fall, you are out. Lightening is even for everyone, and not subject to interpretation. Â If rules are twisted on a discretional basis, then there is a huge space for unfairness.
