  1. @Horton which part do you disagree with?
  2. The old rubber overlay was much better(pre 09) and safer IMO the new laminate seem to have very little give. This concerns me as far as release goes. Been on them for 20 years still have one old overlay squirreled away. Love to change but not sure it's worth the effort at this point.
  3. Do you feel your front boot will release with this method? Do you feel that this set up has advantages (disadvantages) to your reflex set up?
  4. @Bruce_Butterfield while I agree with your analogy, I have to say that most people(not genetically gifted) will not attain single digit body fat levels nor would it be healthy to do so. It would take a tremendous commitment to diet and exercise that quite frankly most people just wouldn't be willing to do. Low double digits is a bit more practical and attainable.
  5. @jhughes Rev6 got to be a tough act to follow. In my mind if it doesn't raise buoy count or increase consistency well....
  6. I would pay attention to any ski that raises my buoy count. S2 was a great ski. There are no miracle skis IMO. They all do something a little differently. Find one that fits and ride it till the magic is gone. Then it's time for something different. Part of the fun of progression!
  7. @horton Get your onside to come around like your off side does and you will really have something there!
  8. 95-97 PS-190 skis really well! The only knock is at 22 off where the wake is hard. 15 off is really very nice along with 28 and beyond.
  9. Measured from the tail of the ski to the rear of the front boot.
  10. I ride a Rev no shims. From what I remember reading in the past the shims will help if the ski is turning to hard for you on either side. Maybe for real short line which I am not or people that tend to manipulate the turn a bit which I do not. Hope that helps a bit.
  11. In NY Horrible wind and lots of it! Making a huge commitment to getting more ski time this season pretty much available at all times and there are just none to be had!
  12. @Razorskier1 I get the point just fine. You have much to be proud of. You have developed a skill set that will not go away. When your body is ready you will be right back to those stats. Any thing that takes us away from the sport we love is devastating. Looking at the bigger picture though, right now you have a much bigger problem to focus on than 38 off. Better is better!
  13. More is not better. Better is better...
  14. Yes I heard that same thing with version 8 If you get a hard hit at 2 runaway at 3 It will be background settings. If the thing doesn't run real close ball to ball it will feel awful. Something to keep in mind while you verify the obvious.
  15. It's the one before 9 @Mark_Matis Haven't upgraded it works so well with the background adjusted I don't see the need to upgrade.
  16. We installed it on 2 older boats 96 master craft and 94 ski natique it took us a whole summer to get them right. After your sure all tests are good you will need to work with the background settings. Both of these boats run within a couple of thousandths ball to ball.
  17. Going through the same thing right now. I won't try again! It's not like they are giving them away! I cannot reward poor customer service...
  18. @skibug could you describe your perceived differences between XT and Rev?
  19. Didn't feel it was turning as well on both sides? (longer shallower)
  20. Can you elaborate on the "quirk" what needed to be done as far as adjustments?
  21. I have a 9500 in my basement. I don't believe it's in the same league as the REV. Different animal really...
  22. Be curious to hear your review of Rev6. I can't imagine what can be done to a ski, to make it better than the Rev
  23. I can tell the same story as you only in reverse! The REV 6 has been all but a miracle for me. I had been on a different ski for almost a year. It seemed to do everything well but I never could put it all together. Hit and miss was my best description. I was so discouraged I thought that age had gotten the better of me and considered packing it in. I demoed the REV and from the first cut my skiing went back to the days of my very best. I run up to my best pretty much every time I'm out. It's the most consistent ski I've ever been on. It's hard to believe a ski could make that much difference. If that's what's happening with you dump that ski. I am now of the belief that a ski that fits you does so in the first set. I've been on a bunch there was one before the REV that I put in the same camp and It fit on the first set. I can't say enough good about the REV but for you move on....
  24. This is good news perhaps (going back to the a-1 concepts) They really seem to have lost their way!
