We've all talked about how Collegiate skiing is the future , and the way to bring more skiers, and keep more skiers, skiing. This is a great idea and a way to get funds to kids all over the place. Everyone wants to help, but we haven't known how. This makes it easy! The teams will be able to fill out grant applications and get funds for all sorts of stuff/help. To stop it from blowing out, adding a little more depth/length will help...as long as the boots are close to where they need to be. There is no "correct" . Every change you make affects something else. It's a balancing act/trade off.

55's don't have to be exact. Put a left side (you really only need the left one) 55 in using 2 slalom ropes plus a 28off section...plus 2 feet/eyeball it. As long as it's inline with the guides, you're good. Being exact doesn't matter; you will have a reference point to use each time. Getting up on the boat at the start is critical to maintaining that position in the course. ZO makes is very hard to get back up on the boat once you're in the course. The boats don't deviate enough in speed to allow you to kill a bouy/slow the boat, and get that slingshot up on the boat at the next bouy. All the slingshot now comes from your body. Being up on the boat gives your more time to finish the turn and lock in before the pull from the boat occurs. Your turns look good, and if you fix the gate area, I doubt you ever miss a 32 again. 35 just amplifies the problem. Good luck!

Try it. It does some very cool things. I believe you can make it work on any ski. I believe it just makes it behave differently. There may be a ski that you like that's just not finishing the turn correctly. This fin may work. I think it's worth a try on almost every ski.

It must not be very good. The skier in the video wasn't able to go around any bouys.

1/2 is not determined yet. If they gave him 1/2 , then he did not get back to the gates in time. So , the judges determined he did, in fact , get outside the bouy. If he did get back inside the gate, he would have gotten a full bouy.

The rule says sinking the bouy. A few more frames could determine if ankles and that center part of the ski are outside the bouy to give credit.

We drive with rec mode quite a bit in the spring to take the speed up a bit. We also have a short setup on one end. We don't notice any difference between rec and tournament mode. My guess is the boat just isn't to speed yet for the gate pullout. We pull the skier out of the hole from an extreme angle (at 38/39) with the boat close to shoreline to get that extra 40 feet or so, giving the boat a couple more boat lengths to reach speed.

Pressure areas are formed as the water accelerates around and moves past the prop. As the prop moves faster, it creates a lower pressure around it. As it reaches vapor pressure, the water vaporizes and forms small bubbles of gas.
