    As of Monday, masks will be required in public, bars are closing and gatherings will be limited to 50 people. The Governor is rolling back opening to phase 1 in response to Covid-19 surging in Louisiana.

    Probably very little would happen. Skiers have made up their minds about Nationals already. Spending 5K for one round of slalom isn’t that appealing to most people.

    What about making it more of a huge water ski off. You could have a two or three round tournament. The first/second round would qualify the skier for a group in the final round. For slalom, the qualifying rounds would place you into a line length group. In the final round, your competing against everyone else in the country in the qualified group from the previous rounds.

    It's going to be a topic in August when football season is upon us and game attendance will be hotly debated. As people start moving around, the virus will spread and we could be looking at another lock down as well. COVID-19 is one bad MF'r.

    It’s been twenty years since an American man won the most prestigious tennis tournament on the planet. This is the year to experiment and think creatively. It wouldn’t be the same, but could provide a tournament format that brings fun and excitement to tournaments. Or we can just keep doing the same old thing. That’s been great for membership numbers since Pete won at the All England Club.

    It will be impossible to hold a regional or national tournaments using social distancing.

    It’s really simple. Tournaments are hard. Practice isn’t he same. It’s not even close.

    Or scrap the whole ratings system and start over. Make tournaments competitive and advancement based on tournament performance, not scores. There’s too many variables involved in tournament skiing for all scores to be considered equal.

    @mike_mapple Your “blister” byline reminds me of a story my dad likes to tell. Twenty years ago we’re skiing in Orlando and your dad would show up and ski. My dad had hurt his thumb and couldn’t sleep because it was so painful. On the ride to the lake he didn’t know if he was going to be able to ski. Andy shows up around the same time we did and my Dad was talking about his thumb hurting. Andy had a look and said “That’s not going to get in the way of your skiing.” My Dad suited up and didn’t miss a set.
