@Chad_Scott It wasn't negative. However, to your point, they knew the little differences between you and another driver. If memory serves, they were discussing -41 10.25.
I was on a dock in Florida listening to a couple of pro skiers discussing the differences they felt in the drivers they had at a tournament. I don't remember the details. But, I was struck at the nuisances they were talking about. One of the drivers was @Chad_Scott
As part of the collateral damage, I'm not looking forward to keeping track of the ZBS scores while announcing the Midwest Regional Championships. I imagine it being difficult for observers to figure out as well.
I've put together two tournaments that skiers can qualify for extra skiing. People really like the incentive to ski more. This summer I intend on doing the following on June 23. 32-36 skiers get three rounds, skiers will be grouped by age in some cases and ability in others. Twelve skiers will advance to a runoff round to qualify for a four skier head to head finals. We play music and have an announcer on site.
@BrennanKMN Center City will be hosting the Midwest Regional Championships will at the end of July. It's a fantastic tournament for spectating. You'll see some of the best skiers in the region battling for a spot on the podium. Plus, Nate Smith and Dane Mechler will be there. It's worth an hour drive to see them ski!
Go ski with @drew ross in May before the Masters. Isles of Lake Hancock is amazing and home to multiple world records. As a bonus, many skiers prepping for the masters drop in for a set.
@liquid d Marcus won the cold 39. Which they did in the morning following the regular tournament and spin a rama. @MarcusBrown, I believe, was the only skier to run it cold. Two of the older skiers didn't even attempt it. Cool concept. Marcus was absolutely money on the gate.
@klindy I'm with you 100%. Every year, or so it seems, a debate over a score is discussed and opinions are all over place when, as you stated, the rules are clear.
Jmac has possession of a tight tow line, riding forward, and his weight is supported by his ski. He has met all three criteria for the definition of skiing position in his photo.
And that's why rankings are a bit meaningless. If you go by making the podium at Regional tournaments, that's not true at all. Only in the region that had 5 mens 3 skiers would that be true.
It was so brutal on Saturday, some of the kiddos went off the dock at 17 mph on a short board. Many adults skipped the day entirely. We were drinking beer early.
So far @Razorskier1 @RazorRoss3 @6balls @thager are on the list for next Saturday in NG. The lake is skiing great right now. Should see some high scores
