  1. I asked DALL-E for the same... and I think maybe AI inadvertently solved the problem of expensive tow boats. Apparently I'm attaching my rope to the wrong pylon
  2. Malibu has been marinizing and using their own motors for several years now. They used Crusader engines in the current TXi up until 2020 IIRC. There has never been a Ford (Raptor) in the TXi. They did use those for a couple years in some wake barges.
  3. this is the first winter since moving from WI to AZ that I took an extended layoff. Had the first ski rides this morning since October and it went about how I'd have expected. Lots of unintentional tail turns by not bringing the hips through like I want to.
  4. Good luck with the move Rob! See you back in WI this summer!
  5. Stinks if it's true though. While it's not as popular as the other two, it's clearly still a REALLY good boat, with two WRs set behind it at the same tourney this year.
  6. somebody try to order a TXi and let us know if you get a slot. :)
  7. That might be a localized phenomenon I reckon. I split my time between Arizona and Wisconsin and in both places I ski, slalom is alive and well. 6 years ago when I got to Arizona, there were maybe 2-3 boats on the public lake I go to that were slalom skiers. That's at least doubled since. It's a small crew, but they're still out there, including a couple newer Nautiques and ProStars. In Wisconsin, both in the northwoods and in the southern lake country between Madison and Milwaukee, morning slalom is thriving. I know this site is mostly focused on private lake crews turning buoys and shortening the rope, but there are thousands of us out there who ALSO or ONLY open water slalom, and my family has skiers as young as 10 and as old as 75 going out in the morning together. In our Malibu.
  8. Surf and under 3500 lbs are kindof mutually exclusive. The new DD ski boats are all over 3100 lbs dry and much heavier that rigged for running and fueled up.
  9. I usually just catch the highlights on a Monday after, with a lower quadrant of one of my multiple monitors set to the broadcast on a work day.
  10. Saw @JoelHowley promoting something similar this morning on the 'gram. Wonder how one needs to adjust fin to compensate for all that extra tail.
  11. I'm 250lbs on a 69" Senate Pro, previously on a 71" Lithium. Have skied into 32 at 34 MPH on the 69 and it can go much farther than my limited skills have the ability to take it. The 71 is great too but I had a hard time shutting it down into the buoy if I was scrambling.
  12. That's not an LXi. Dealer who listed it doesn't know what they're doing. That's a Sunsetter. Different animal than the SS LXi.
  13. Watching the launch videos it seems like a massive pain compared to the way my buddies and I launch. My trailer is usually in the water for a maximum of 30 seconds when retrieving, and about 10 seconds launching. Can't wait for the day when the ramp is loaded with these massive things you can't see around that each take 10 mins to launch or retrieve. I'd definitely want something like a Haloview camera setup to back this thing down onto the three-wide ramp with a 45 degree turn like we use at our most frequent public lake.
  14. @Ryota -san with the pensive, model look. Not sure there's much good water to be had around Shibuya though! Has @Slalom.Steve started a new trend? Who's going to be the first to summit Kilimanjaro with their blank ski?
  15. @brooks @Chris Rossi @TFIN for visibility lol
  16. Another fresh entry into the nearly limitless "why didn't I think of that" database
  17. If people love the 6.2 for its torque and response, they'll REALLY love the 6.6L. It's basically a punched out 6.2 but with an iron block like the 6.0L so weight is probably similar. I really like that engine in my Silverado HD! Probably a better wake boat engine though with its much stronger internals.
  18. I know in much of the country they get moldy and stinky if you use them for ski gear, but not in AZ! I'd miss my locker dearly if I got a newer boat.
  19. with how much training Nate does in crap conditions, that final was a shocker. Great wins for both Freddie and Jaimee! Those fingernails will grow back.
  20. Been on Vapor boots since 2016 after 15 years on Animals and no way could I go back. My feet used to cramp in those things on longer sets. The vapors are like comfy slippers. They fit a tad small for the size, but once you heat mold the liners, I find they're dead on. I wear size 14 shoes and before molding the toe area, my toes were scrunched up. Now they're just right.
  21. On my boat the windshield is far more stout and sturdy than the bimini frame. The off-course is a well-built (not lightweight) piece of kit. You could do something with linear actuators and Arduino, but it'd need to be able to react quickly and probably unnecessarily complex. I thought of a gimbal mount also but you'd need to account for wind resistance at 34MPH and effects on position, crosswinds, etc. I do like the idea of a tower mount, but you'd need to relocate the controls closer. A tower mount would have the system mounted higher, meaning a leaned-over shot wouldn't go out nearly as wide since it's shooting more "downward" than "outward."
  22. I've heard the slalom mode in Wake edition S is a great pull, but if you're course skiing, you want timing, which means 3 event.
  23. Short of a gyro, there's no real solution to the "rocking the boat" problem other than to be a smoother, better skier. 🤪
