  1. does yours have a spin-on or an inline filter back there? I replaced my spin-on with a WIX in-line.
  2. There was a 1999 SSLXi for sale here in the PHX metro on FB marketplace last week. I don't have FB so I can't hunt it down for you, but might be worth a look. If it's still there, I could go check it out for you.
  3. My experience as well. Sacrifice a pair of tube socks. Cut them off at the ball of your foot. Put BOTH toe sections on your foot. Then heat mold. I wear size 14 shoes and every Vapor boot I've had didn't fit well prior to molding.
  4. On the automatic steering thing... How can that possibly work without being super harsh? A good driver can know/feel when a skier is in scramble mode and anticipate/pre-correct path based on what the skier is doing. Auto-steer is only ever going to react, not anticipate. Imagine someone like a Jon Travers or Robert Pigozzi in scramble mode. Those guys can brutalize a boat and driver. ZO made it so that a skier has to be light and flowy. Imagine auto-steer will be 10x more of this. And for that reason, I don't think 43 will ever be run. You'd need to be 6'10" 120lbs.
  5. Height in this sport seems like it's only an advantage to a certain point. After that, mistakes become amplified. Doesn't help that taller guys tend to be heavier, and ZO likes guys with bird-like figures.
  6. yes. That was in the list I sent him.
  7. Beautiful boat. Exact same color scheme as my dad's '01 Sunsetter. I'll PM you some things to check that I see from the photos.
  8. The interviewers just need to learn to stick that mic right up in the skiers' faces and hold it at the proper angle. Everything else, outstanding.
  9. That hull has some incredible wakes. Good luck with the sale!
  10. Yeah, Radar and Syndicate ropes are really stiff compared to the other offerings out there. I loved the feel of all my Radar ropes, so the Comp took a little adjusting to. Nothing like the Optimized though. I won't even bother skiing if that's the only option. The X series is a perfect compromise for me.
  11. Will White Pines grow well by you? They grow fairly quickly and do a good job of breaking up wind.
  12. I've used both the Comp and the X series. I really like the X series since I like a stiffer rope. The Comp was great once broken in but the X was better for me right out of the box.
  13. I made the switch to RTP last year and it frustrated me to the point I haven't really enjoyed skiing as much as I was. Prior to the switch, I was skiing the best passes of my life. I switched to avoid needing hip surgery since double booted starts were tearing up my back hip... but I'm almost to the point of going under the knife so I can go back to double boots. :(
  14. Because that would require them to climb down from their towers and address the commoners. The Nautique fanbois all seem to be cool with this decision though. Like the cheering crowd at the end of the last season of "The Boys..."
  15. I'm running Boas from 2016 on my goof-around wide-ride ski and still good as new. Plus, I believe they are warrantied for life BICBW. I've heard of guys getting replacements for older boots for free. I've had loads of these things on various bindings and gloves over the years without a single failure. I'm confident in them, personally.
  16. That's awesome, and that era Malibu Response is easily top 5 best looking tournament boat all time. Love to see guys skiing into 41 behind the classics
  17. flown on UA with my ski dozens of times. Just tell them it's skis and they send them right through. Just counts as one of your checked bags. And keep it under 50 lbs.
  18. Does that model have an Ignition Control Module? On a Vortec-based Indmar, that'd be the first place I'd look. Then check fuel pressure is within spec. Then coil.
  19. I agree with @1skinut I am not a great skier by any means, but I don't even bother with 15 off anymore. Too slow, too much rope, and I'm too fat. The geometry of shorter lines really helps us bigger guys accelerate and keep moving. I start at 22/32. As for free skiing at 32 off, 34 MPH, if you're taking video of yourself and are using that to correct and work on things like stack, hips over ankles, staying connected off the second wake, etc, I don't see why it'd hurt you. If you're just out there reinforcing bad habits, that's a different story.
  20. Has anyone ever tried splattering these things with 303 protectant before putting them in for the season? Wonder if that would prevent or curtail the UV damage.
  21. '06 was the first year for TBW on the Malibu Indmars. That's why I told him he'd find downgrades complicated above. :)
  22. Didn't realize Hydrophase had a solution for TBW boats. That's cool if they're in that game now.
  23. Would RPM mode work for trick skiing? That's available on SG 3 event. I know my paddlewheel is still hooked up too, so there might be a way to get it to use that, but for now it's basically just a glorified water temp sensor when PP is switched off.
  24. I saw that boat for sale. Beautiful RLXi! That's the first year of throttle by wire. That may complicate things a bit in terms of master module, software compatibility, etc.
