  1. @Wish YOU NAILED IT!!!!! I definitely felt pressure in my left arm/shoulder going into 2-4 when I tried to resist being rotated back toward the boat. I had never felt that before, but the results were amazing
  2. @Texas6 and @Wish are going down the right path. Here's what I discovered last night that has already made a HUGE difference in my skiing: RESIST letting the boat rotate your shoulders back to the pylon as you travel outbound into the ball. As you can see in the freeze frame, my outside shoulder is being twisted back toward the boat. I'll have to disagree with Texas6 about staying on the handle too long. But the need to stay on the handle has led me to being turned back towards the boat. Last night, I thought about RESISTING the boat pulling that outside shoulder in. I could feel a lot more pull in my left arm/shoulder going into 2/4...and VOILA!!!! I was wider, earlier, and finishing 2-4 with a lot more speed, angle, and consistency! I tried the technique at 38 once last night to see what would happen. I had a crappy gate 1, pulled too long into 2, but applied this "resistance" to the boat and I still had enough width to make a clean turn at 2 and be wide and early at 3! Normally, if I messed up 1 ball like that, I may get around 2, but would have no chance of turning it and going to 3.
  3. @Skoot1123 I know there's a lot of things that I can fix.....which is why I didn't want to post the video. However, what I discovered last night in the freeze frame is a small thing that's already making a BIG difference. @Wish is onto it
  4. Here is the video the frame came from.
  5. Not really a trick question. I think I made a discovery last night and this freeze frame best highlights what I think I've been doing wrong. I was hoping to get some confirmation or feedback regarding this.
  6. I don't undo the strap on the rear.....so I have no issues with it coming undone.
  7. Straight Line Classic Kevlar gloves are very similar to the K-Palm. They are extremely durable but harder to find. I just switched from the classics to the K-Palms bc I couldn't find any classics to replace my old ones. I ski 4-8 sets a week for about 7 months of the year. My last pair of SL classic gloves lasted me more than 2 seasons. So far, I'm happy with how the K-palms have held up. I was skeptical that there was another pair of gloves out there as durable as the SL classic.
  8. Thanks for sharing! I just showed this to my wife (she learned to ride a slalom last summer) and she said, "You think I can do that?" Why yes I do.....lets go practice!!! Ha. Thanks for the motivation!
  9. I was just waiting for @Razorskier1 or @6balls to chime in!
  10. @rodltg2 If you have an iPhone or iPad, download the Zinio app. You can get the digital copy there.
  11. @The_Krista is kind of like the Lindsey Vonn of waterskiing. She's talented, athletic, beautiful, and outgoing. But at least Krista would actually wear a bathing suit when she skis!
  12. Will ANY of this info make ANY of us better skiers??? My brain hurts
  13. If you need to protect your fin adjustments with a padlock, it might be time to re-evaluate who you're skiing with......
  14. Weight is a bad thing in skiing.....even if its from muscle. The best combo is light but strong. Look at Jeff Rodgers, he's a perfect example of this combination.
  15. I talked to KLP briefly at the Pro Am about my struggles with the 67. As @MS mentioned, the issue seems to be more related to the amount of rocker than the flex.
  16. I can't help but wonder if he was saving it for Little Mountain for some reason. If you watch the tapes that @OB posted from the Pro Am, it almost looks like Nate stood up 5 ball at 41 in both rounds intentionally. I think he could've ran either one of them.
  17. I was dumb and didn't pay attention to my flex numbers before removing the sticker. Rookie mistake. It was the first brand new ski I'd bought in over 10 years. It never crossed my mind that there could or would be so much inconsistency between skis.
  18. @Triplett. I hope you get a "good" one. I know too many people, myself included, that have had a tough go with the 67's. Apparently the 66's are good....but there's been issues with the 67's and 68's
  19. I remember that Wade Cox article. This discussion came up some time last year. I actually emailed Todd Risto. at Waterski Mag and suggested that it would be neat to see that article about Wade revisited with some of the current skiers like Nate, Tgas, Cp, Asher, etc. Unfortunately, he never replied. I agree that the peak speed is higher at the shorter line lengths, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the average speeds are higher.
  20. Just heard that Nate ran 2@43 at Little Mountain
  21. One of the club members at Waterski Atlanta noticed that all of the top 5 Open Men's skiers at the Atlanta Pro-Am washed their hands with soap and lake water before suiting up. Anyone have any idea why that is?
