  1. Thanks for the replies! @OB, the video camera will be ready this weekend to capture the embarassment. Whitey tightys or a pink speedo....either way, just make sure you tuck the boys in nice and tight. No one wants to see those things rolling down your leg!
  2. I just took a new job and will be traveling to the area pretty consistenly for the next month......RIGHT in the middle of tournament season! Any ballers out there willing to extend an occasional pull? My company is located in Aliquippa and my hotel is right by the airport. I'm a M2 (36mph) skier that skis into 38 off. I'm also a tournament driver. An occasional ski set will certainly make traveling for work much more bearable! Thanks! Adam
  3. I was searching YouTube and came acrsoss 2 videos. The first is of Seth Stisher crossing the wakes at 15 off, 32 mph. The second is of an amateur skier doing the same thing. There is a HUGE difference. The amateur seems to bounce the ski a couple times off the second wake before settling into the edge change. Seth makes one steady move to a smooth edge change. I've noticed in my skiing that I sometimes have edge changes like Seth, sometimes like the amateur. The question is this....what CAUSES the difference??? Seth's Wake Crossing/Edge Change Amateur's Wake Crossing/Edge Change
  4. I dont see any warranties or guarantees listed.....that's definitely a concern.
  5. As a general rule of thumb, slack line doesn't come from speed.....it comes from DIRECTION of speed. You're getting a slack line because you have too much speed directed down course. Rossi wrote a GREAT article called "Skiing the Impossible Line." It expains in great deatail about direction of speed as well as handle control. I highle advise looking it up and reading it. I've attached the PDF....I hope it works....
  6. Last week, one of the inserts for my rear binding on my A1 stripped out. I have been skiing with 3 of 4 screws in place. Today, I removed the rear animal boot to tighten down some screws on the bottom of it. When I went to remount it to the ski.....another insert stripped!! So now only 2 of 4 inserts for my rear binding are any good. What do I do?!?!? Buying a new ski is not an option!
  7. MS, I think you hit the nail on the head when you stated that the MB gate is "high risk, high reward". There's a very small margin of error when you attempt the MB gate....but if you do it right, its awesome. I know I was experiencing a lot of inconsistency which is probably why I've started slowing the movement down, similar to TW's gate.
  8. So I've been reviewing some of my videos of my skiing and have noticed a shift in my one-handed gate. If you study the technique as performed by various professionals....you'll notice some major differences in the one-handed gate. 2 very easy examples of this are Marcus Brown vs. Terry Winter. Marcus's gate seems to be one continuous movement. He moves out and very quickly makes a continuous move back in to the wake. However, Terry make a pull out, coasts, and then very slowly and progressively reaches and turns back in. When I first started trying the one-handed gate, my style was more like that of Marcus Brown's. But NOW....I've started (unknowingly) shifting more towards the style of Terry Winter. What is everyone's understanding and approach to the one handed gate? Marcus Brown's gate: Terry Winter's gate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in5Se66mLfQ
  9. I don't....and I don't know of anyone else that does either.
  10. I ski with George at Waterski Atlanta. I could give you a pull next week. We are located VERY close to the Atlanta Airport....not exactly close to Braselton, but it's a nice site.
