  1. I don't know how the whole twitter thing works......but send a tweet to tadd #taddh2oz
  2. @Ilivetoski He ran 38 and got a couple at 39. Not sure of the exact score. But to come and compete in an event like the Malibu Open for the first time and put up a score like that.....awesome!
  3. Ham, Anyone from your group going to be there Thursday night? I'm skiing Friday morning....haven't made any hotel reservations. Looking to split a room if anyone is interested...and grab a ride to the site Friday morning. This skiing stuff is EXPENSIVE!
  4. Ah....thats probably exactly what it is. Thanks for filling me in!
  5. @Skoot1123 Nope, watching the webcast. Good first showing for Joel. The helmet came in handy with his dismount at 39!
  6. I just registered for Nationals. When I went to check my registration status, I see LOTS of skiers with a "DNS" listed by their name. Apparently this means "did not ski" in the most recent regional tournament. If you're not open rated, does this not DQ you from participation in Nationals??
  7. What exactly is X factor? This is the first I've heard it mentioned....
  8. Joel Howley is second off the dock in the Malibu Open today. Hope he knocks down 39!!
  9. Same here....."This video is private"
  10. @Detrick I saw this on the front page and can't believe you came out of that turn! Looking at the LAST pic in the sequence, I would've given you a hard time about wearing a daisy duke swimsuit if I didn't know what caused it. That's way more butt than I ever wanna see on any dude! ha Great skiing!
  11. @LeonL. Thanks for filling me in. As much as we all want to participate in a "perfect" tournament....mistakes happen.....especially when its a tournament stretched out over so many skiers over multiple days. I know hosting a tournament of this magnitude is a HUGE undertaking. In my circumstance, the work boat was entering the course to remove the slalom buoys to get ready for jump. Obviously, they were only trying to move the tournament along as efficiently as possible. Big thanks goes out to EVERYONE that volunteers and helps make these events happen.
  12. @LeonL. That happened to me on Saturday! I got in a runoff for second place in M2. I came off the dock at 35, round the turn island, only to see a Nautique intersecting the boat path. I didn't know what to do so I threw the handle and didn't enter the course. Reride granted. Why on earth did someone else not get a reride?? If that happened to me......well let's just say it wouldn't be pretty....
  13. @Oldskeer And thanks to YOU Ham! It's always nice to know you don't have to worry about the guy behind the wheel. Thanks for the great pulls!
  14. There were about 15 skiers between M1 and M2. Slalom and jump were on Saturday....last events of the tournament.
  15. I definitely wasn't implying that they should be forced to ski open. Just trying to better understand the dynamics of being open rated. Is there a benefit to skiing open? Obviously, the competition will be stiffer. If you ski in your age division, your obviously much more likely to finish on top. So why ever ski in the open division? Bragging rights if you happen to place well?
  16. This is a topic I have no knowledge on but would love some clarity. Why are some guys skiing in open men in the regionals, and some guys that are open rated skiing in B3, M1, M2...whatever? What's the advantage or disadvantage? Doesn't seem quite fair that a kid from my lake (B3) had to compete with KC Wilson and Zane Nicholson bc they didn't ski open. Yet it looks like in the western region, lots of guys were skiing in the open division. What gives?
  17. Anyone else noticed that the scores haven't updated in days on the link above?
  18. I've increased my ranking score by 3.5 buoys so far this year
  19. You guys are correct. I made a typo. Wim's website states that he is 5'7". I think it definitely puts him on the list of best skiers for his size. But then the question can be asked, "what defines 'the best'"? I think an argument can be made for every guy mentioned on this thread. No matter how you call it, one thing is for certain..they're all amazing athletes!
  20. According to Wim's own website, he is 5'9". It also says that he is the "shortest skier to run 39 @ 36mph".
  21. Wim Decree seems to have some of the best form of anyone I've seen ski. I don't know how tall he is or what his accomplishments are.....but his skiing is amazing to watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMeWeoIVNOI&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  22. I'm thinking X7 may be more what I'm looking for at 36 mph. I typically dont have much problem building speed....inconsistent and unstable turns seem to be more of my problem. But I won't make any per-judgments. I almost wanna ski on both and not know which one I'm on. Blind taste test!
  23. @SkiJay. This may be crazy to some, but I have never demoed a ski before....much less compared 2 head to head. How do you think I should go about it to minimize variables as much as possible? Obviously, I want only the ski to affect my skiing and nothing else. Almost need to apply the old scientific method! What process do y'all suggest?
