  1. https://www.iwwfed-ea.org/classic/21USA146/ Found the link for IWWF scoring for the US Open
  2. Is there a link for live scoring for the US Open prelims? IWWF scorebook? I only see the US skier's scores on AWSA live scoring
  3. @JeffSurdej "We" as in AWSA gets $250,000 or "we" USA water ski gets $250,000? If USAWS gets the $$, how much does AWSA get?
  4. @klindy I oppose the mandate. I took the training at the request of USA swimming. They offered it to the parents for educational purposes. https://www.usaswimming.org/articles-landing-page/2017/02/16/safe-sport-for-parents
  5. @ral I think the resistance has more to do with the utter frustration of the woke culture encroaching in every aspect of our lives. The hypersensitivity of the woke culture assumes that we are unable to make intelligent decisions on our own and that we are all so inherently bad that we can't tell right from wrong. Funny thing is that I have done the safesport training module. My answers from the pre-tests and the post-tests match. Looks like I didn't need to watch all of the videos to know right from wrong.
  6. @Horton, I do not live on a private lake, I have not spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on a lake house. I do have 4 skiers in my household who all have to drive to get to the lake usually in multiple cars due to differing schedules - gas $$ - and have to pay for the gas for up to 8-10 sets per day for all of us to ski, so yes, the rising cost of gas is a concern. Oh, and I do not stop at Starbucks for coffee, can make my own at home.
  7. Will sure-path be used at Nationals this year??
  8. Will they live stream the board meetings? I would like to watch a board meeting with Lauren Morgan and Nate Smith attending.
  9. @ALPJr That is not how swimmers are categorized in USA Swimming or most other national governing bodies for competitive swimming. USA Swimming has age based divisions. NSW swim league is a stand alone league kinda like the INT in skiing.
  10. @ALPJr Can you please explain to me how swimming has ability-based divisions?
  11. @Jody_Seal what is your guess on how many people really care about being on the IWWF list? Percentage of AWSA members or percentage of regionals and Nationals participant?
  12. @Sebgo We put our kids on one of our old skis to increase stability behind the boat. Son even had to ski on my pink Goode 9800 until he hit max speed and began to shorten the line. Teaching the kids proper position behind the boat (longer ski) is more important at this phase than teaching them to turn (shorter ski). In my mind, are you trying to build a good skier (position behind the boat = long term) or are you trying to gain a few bouys (working on turns = short term)?
  13. @DSP all of this information is already available on the website. If there is online registration for the event, you can click on event search, check registration status and see all who have signed up for the tournament. If you want to see who skied last year, click on scores, view scorebooks and then change the date range on the top banner to see last year's results. Doing all of this is easier if you use the old website.
  14. @PurdueSkier how would you structure the divisions? By line length? By speed? How would you differentiate between the -32 @32mph vs. -32@36mph skier?
  15. @MattP I am saying two separate Nationals would not work for most families. Families are the lifeblood of this sport.
  16. @MattP I did not miss that sentence. If we went to two different Nationals that would double the travel cost for my family. We have one kid that is an adult and one kid that is a junior. If we only went to one Nationals, which kid would we choose? My husband and I also ski Nationals so it would be three against one, sorry son majority rules?
  17. @MattP two separate Nationals does not ease the burdens for the families that ski together. That would significantly increase the costs and time required. All of the reorganization has already increased the cost to participate for families. Family memberships went up in price. In addition, all dependents over the age of 18 have to have individual memberships which costs more. Another consequence is the eighteen-year-olds and older kids are not eligible for family rates to enter regionals or Nationals. It would have cost an extra $100 for my College freshman daughter to ski Nationals this year compared to last year, when AWSA still considered her part of my family.
  18. @JeffSurdej what are you suggesting with regards to changing how competition works and how divisions are structured?
  19. I was not given a choice on the dock at Nats
  20. I miss TW, he was a good source of information and very entertaining!!
