  1. I had exactly the same thing happened to me sliding around six fall. Broke my ski and flipped me up in the air but fortunately I didn’t get hurt
  2. I have been skiing with Brian and his Dad Steve since 2007 when Brian was a senior in high school. In the last few weeks he has really hit a stride in his skiing and now executed in a tournament. With some exciting Pro Events on the calendar I look forward to seeing how he does over the rest of this season. Let’s go BFD! Congrats again.
  3. I have quit my job twice, in April and “took 6mo off” so I could ski more
  4. Will and Greg were constantly monitoring boat path to ensure the ride was as close as possible in both boats. Both Will and Greg were pleased with their driving as well as how similar the ride will have felt to the skiers.
  5. I was fortunate enough to boat judge open men in Greg’s boat. Fantastic skiing. One thing that may not have made it through the webcast but was great to see: after Tgas beat Nate, Nate skied back to the dock and as he passed Tgas who was floating where he fell Nate skied past him and gave him a “low five” in congrats. It was cool to see. And yes, a huge moment for Tgas, great skiing.
  6. This event came together late, and doing the best we can with on-site webcast managed by one person, George Canepa. Without George, there would be on line scoring only and no webcast. Thanks also to Nason, Freddy, Crawford and others for announcing. All the said, WSBC is a very high standard. Conditions are perfect other than the smoky air. Scores looking strong this far.
  7. @rico true, and I did. So far in handicapped H2Hs it’s Bishop 2, Horton zero. But he made me work for it!
  8. @RichardDoane i have spotted Horton 5.5 buoys. So I have to beat him by a pass.
  9. Poll question is not specific enough. I will ski up to about 15mph Head tail. Typical at “The Pond”. More that that it’s not safe or fun. I will ski up to about 30mph cross wind. I think what was meant is how much wind do you typically ski in? If that’s the case, 0-10mph.
  10. What @dbutcher said. There are not that many sites/LOC able and willing to take on a nationals. AFAIK we don’t get to pick between a bunch of sites for a location that strategically makes sense. You need a solid site and an army of helpers and we only get a bid or two each year. Thanks to all the sites that put the energy into hosting Regionals and Nationals.
  11. While practicing at a Big Dawg stop, KLP came into the dock after his ride and I heard him say “you are running 87 in this boat aren’t you”? To which the answer was yes. He shook his head and said “it should be premium”. Yes, KLP is one of the most technical skiers ever and was running 39 at the time. I can run 39 and am not sure I could personally tell the difference. But I bet some can. Maybe KLP had a lucky guess or maybe he knew. I am assuming it’s in the ball park of a ZO setting change. I have larger demons in my own head or behind the wheel so I haven’t gotten far enough down the list to stress about fuel. This said… I agree if the boat runs better with it, especially when the cost isn’t significant in the overall scheme, and especially if it’s in a tournament, run the correct octane.
  12. I waited a few weeks after surgery as instructed and have never even thought about it since. No issues. Best money I ever spent
  13. They are hard to find. I just picked up a new one from Performance for $299. Great kids ski.
  14. @teammalibu do you mean “dirt” or @Dirt ? Data distribution is as expected after 150 votes I am a fully committed tournament skier for about 25yrs straight
  15. My 10yr old looks good on a TRA. Haven’t properly tried anything else.
  16. Yes, check the bracket @RichardDoane points out. If the pylon is really loose, that could be the problem.
  17. I like the idea of “vinyl mesh mat” which is similar to decadence. Ordered a white one yesterday and will report back once it’s in service.
  18. @RAWSki that looks great. Where did you get it?
  19. I expect this is about the organization protecting itself more than anything. I expect many other organizations will do the same whether we like it or not. It would be great if the training will make an actual impact on the youth we seek to protect. I hope so. Many speculate on this. You can consider this irrelevant (to your choice of whether to comply) or a part of macro problems in the world today. But here we are, with this issue between me and my sport and I can comply or quit. I won’t quit competing in the sport I love because of something like this, regardless of a view point of A) full support B ) unconvinced C) indifference or D) fully opposed.
  20. We have used carpet for years but it can get filthy over time. Also holds dirt and disguises screws or staples holding it down. We are now using go a rubber Matt but it gets hot snd marks light colored shorts. I like how the dirt/sand washes through and it keeps the ski away from any dock screws. What do you think is best and why? Of course it needs to protect skis, be functional and hopefully last.
  21. @schnipdip i don’t like how expensive new boats are either. While this isn’t helping grow the sport, it isn’t killing the sport alone. A counter point is that the wake and surf market is booming and those boats cost 1.5-3x what a new ski boat cost. You can pay more than $300k for the top of the line surf boat and I believe all of the top manufacturers are selling every boat they can make. So, price of the boat isn’t a problem there. Therefore, As many in this forum know, it makes more sense for boat companies to build wake vs ski boats. Combine that with the shrinking market for ski boats and there is little incentive for the boat companies do anything differently. A few have tried to make a run at an affordable option (Carbon Pro!) and didn’t make it for different reasons.
