  1. Wow, great skiing @adamhcaldwell I hope you have another crack at it tomorrow.
  2. 2 of the boats are having ZO issues and people are working on it and hopefully they figure it out. A 3rd boat is working fine. For the Big Dawg component, the finals can be run with one boat but obviously without 2 skiers at once H2H. Instead, you will run the same bracket, skiers match up the in the same pairings and the winner moves on.
  3. @Booze Revolution. I can ride both, and will play more with the XTR once the water hits 90. But for now my Revolution rips.
  4. We should all care about the standards in our sport and do our best to maintain them. There is nothing wrong with questioning a series of exceptional results at a particular event. Be careful, be professional, do your homework, but ask away. We should welcome this not fight it. I once saw a skier run a full pass better than he should at my home site. I KNEW something was off and I didn’t yet have proof. Everyone else was cheering and congratulating the skier. I called the boat to make sure they shortened. They had. I know the course was right, the ropes were right and the driver is solid. So I checked the handle when it came back to the dock. Sure enough it was 18” long. Had I not asked the question and challenged the result that score would have stood and would remain a false course record today.
  5. We had a fun tournament yesterday with a mulligan. I scored a Rico off the dock and backed it up with another Rico. It’s a very Dissatisfying score!
  6. @rico you are far better off with @horton watching and screaming than you are having him drive. Way to stick with it and not settle for 5
  7. If there are 100 things a skier needs to do right when we ski, elite skiers may be working in the same three as an aspiring skier. I think the difference is the best skiers have 90 of the other items under control while aspiring skiers have less. Like @BoneHead in my conversations with the worlds best skiers, it’s nice to hear they are working on the same or similar things. That said, I always learn something new in those conversations.
  8. @jimbrake the thread title made me think of this recent pic, which made me stop and stare. Party because it’s such a good photo and partly because it’s a killer turn.
  9. @matthewbrown ya, the 39 was tough after that one ball, but impressive to get as far as he did. And the first 3 passes were so solid.
  10. Web cast was smooth for me and I am watching via LTE. Will looked awesome. That dude is a machine.
  11. I take 75% of my rides on a club boat. Of the other 25% it’s other people’s boat or mine.
  12. @igkya one color we use is called “Shortline Blue” and the other I believe is called Midnight. Both look great and midnight is a little darker. I dont know what the Fox products are.
  13. Still crap. We all thought it was the room/gear but maybe it’s just you and your voice? Hopeless?
  14. @scotchipman I don’t have hard data and think both are great products. It seemed the Key Colour product lasted longer In our lake for the same amount of dye. I thought the cost was similar or slightly cheaper for Key Colour. We do a bulk order with several other lakes and get bulk pricing on delivery. I would suggest everyone try both and go with what works for you.
  15. @ski6jones in the off season I will go heavier and harder in the gym. Full Rx cross fit 3-4x/wk. In the season I am going to stop all gym workouts over body weight and mostly at much less. I am going to do lighter accessory work that is aimed at balancing ski strength and build core fitness to reduce my chance of back injury. This is an experiment and I look forward to seeing how I feel in August.
  16. SensiPro is good stuff but we have switched to Key Colour. You can get 1 or 5 gallon containers.
  17. I have about 10 rides on the new rope. I skied it without any prep and it felt great first ride. I have taken a few exit gate hits and they seemed easier than I expected, which could be the new rope. Also, after 10 rides I measured and it is super close to actual. Like less than 2cm short each length 32-41 which I think is perfect. Nice work ML!
  18. @AdamCord no worries. It would be interesting if you come and mix it up in the BD. Sign up to reserve your spot and we can quickly confirm elidgibilty. I bet you are good to go.
  19. @horton. Last straw. I just told Greg you were happy to donate 10 new ML ropes Badal Enterprises in exchange for his TC services at BOSCP. I also told him you volunteered to cover all waste Managment activities for both the BD and CAProAm.
  20. Thanks @AdamCord , I love going back over old news. Both Caldwell and Campbell signed up for events they were not eligible for. Both cases were close. And, in both cases the skiers were unfortunately notified late. For Campbell, I believe the LOC thought he was going to ski with the officials as OM not the BD. It seemed like Glenn was notified 1-2 was before the event, but I don’t remember. It was not the day before like Caldwell. Today, the entry list is better monitored to avoid any further such issues.
  21. @adamhcaldwell good stuff. If I personally were starting over from scratch I would look to level the playing field likely through ability basis. Take all the guys with averages 3@35 - 3@38 in one group, 3@38 - 3@39 and so on. That would be a broad competition. Handicap would work as well but they are at least tricky to execute. A solvable problem though.
  22. @horton shut up. We are nearly no longer friends. Now I have to state I have no problem with Caldwell and respect him. Which I expect he already knows. @Bruce_Butterfield the intention is to maintain a separation between BD and OM. You have to choose one or the other. The BD and OM communities both want this. So we anchor the rule around placement and cash. It’s not easy to pick a set of rules that is clear, straight forward to manage and effective. We have done our best. Your understanding of the rules is correct. However, if Bruce places 10th in OM BOSCP and gets $0.50 from Horton, and then petition for an exception I expect it will be granted.
  23. @adamhcaldwell that prior situation was unfortunate and as you say covered in a previous thread in detail. Going forward you can see a copy of the rules on the www.skibigdawg.com website. The short answer is over 35, no OM cash prize top 10 last 3 yrs. I believe you finished 11 at Malibu. BD rules don’t contemplate cuts. After your specific situation, We also added A) a definition for “cash prize” and B ) a petition process. Current rule: Who is Eligible NBDWT / Entry Information: Skiers 35 years and older, who have not placed in the top 10 of an Open Division cash prize event in the past three years or any skier age 50 or above. All skiers meeting the eligibility criteria above are extended an invitation and must submit to the tournament registrar an (a) entry form, (b) proof of membership as required per the governing body of the host country and © advertised entry fee. Maximum number of skiers is specific to each qualifier. Please see each event page for more details. “Open Division cash prize event” is defined as any event in which the Big Dawg competitor competes within the Open Division of an event offering any dollar amount for a cash prize at any level regardless of sanction guidelines. Petitions for qualification of potential Big Dawg competitor can be presented to the committee prior to the first Big Dawg qualifier event.
