  1. snow fence sounds interesting, I can't see the photo either, I must have done something wrong, it was my first attempt at posting with a photo
  2. For the past 5 years I have rented a lake from a farmer in the middle of a corn field. When the water is high in the spring it gets very choppy and this year is even worse because of all the rain we've had. I've got the timer set at 105 seconds and it still not long enough for the water to calm down. I'm looking for a cheap solution to disapate the rollers, since I don't own the property I don't want to invest a ton of money. Any suggestions? Here is a picture:
  3. Have her do a 1 ball start, pull out really wide and early into 1 ball, she should than be able to really back side 1 ball and be in good shape at 2 ball. After she is running the rest of the buoys you can have her start working on gates and 1 ball. Beginners tend to start to narrow on their pull out for the gate, making it hard to get wide into one ball and even harder to be wide at 2. A 1 ball start forces width.
  4. just make sure to ski back to the handle and not rotate your shoulders back to the handle, thus closing your shoulder to the boat
  5. I have a friend who just ripped those cheap plastic inserts out of his ski! I can't believe for a ski that costs over $1000, Dave Goode couldn't put less than $5 of metal inserts in a ski, what a joke. This gives me another reason never to buy a Goode
  6. No idea about the Vice, but I was on a D3 RC, until I broke it back in '08, than a RCX, switched to a X7 and love it. To put it simply, maybe a little slower than your RC but grabs more angle easier and is more stable. When I got the X7 I went from running 35 occasionally to running it off the dock almost every set. 6'-3", 180lbs, 67" ski
  7. Anyone ever watch Will Asher ski? His arm goes down and forward in the preturn as well
  8. Here is my problem with 34. When people get older, do the lower the basketball rim to 8.5 feet? Do they make the whole on the green of a golf course bigger? No and no. If you run a pass at 34 mph there will always be someone who says "that was good, BUT it was ONLY 34 mph". Which defiantly takes something away from the accomplishment. Don't get me wrong I have the utmost respect for the Big Dawg guys, I'll probably never be able to run into 41 like those guys do.
  9. Two divisions for M3 makes sense, or let me ski 36 mph but give me the extra 6 balls, or let me ski M2. They let Boys / Girls 1 to ski up into Boys / Girls 2, for jump reasons I'm guessing, but a Boys / Girls 2 can also ski up into 3. They only problem making MM 36 mph means it's basically the same as Open, plus I'm not that good enough yet to run 3 balls at 39 off, so that would keep me out of that division...
  10. Turned 35 two years ago, at that time I just set a new PB at 36 mph and was still getting better. I think the age of 35 is too young to start dropping boat speed, women don't drop to the next boat speed until Women 5, age 53. AWSA should have two divisions for M3, one for those who want to go 34 mph and one for those who want to go 36mph. I understand you can ski at 36 mph in Men 3, but you end up handicapping yourself against everyone else. Who else thinks M3 should be 36 mph or at least have two divisions?
  11. I too had an inconsistent 2 / 4 onside turn, tried everything at the ball to fix it. What ended up working for me was concentrating how I come out of 1 / 3, level shoulders and open to the boat helped my edge change become more smooth and fixed my hips back.
  12. I got a 67" X7, sorry if I put 69". I'm 6'3' and 180lbs, switched from a 2008 68" Nomad, at the time when I got the Nomad I weighed 220lb.
  13. Got my ski 2 weeks ago, love the ski, its great! The thing is rock solid, the thing grabs a ton of angle but real smooth, I was afraid it was going to be to slow, but it's not, just as fast as my Nomad, but more stable. First set on it I ran 2 balls past my practice average and third set on it ran my PB!
  14. Just ordered an X7, should be here on Tuesday, I'm pretty excited about it. Talked to Paul when I ordered it and he said not to be afraid to run the fin deeper and longer.
  15. I've been on the D3 Nomad RCX mostly since 2008, I say mostly because I tried the HO A1 for a few months last year, but ended up back on the Nomad, the A1 didn't seem to get as much width at the buoy, at least for me. I'm thinking of trying out a X7 but can't find any reviews.
