  1. Before you go spending money check if engine is getting enough air. Remove all the cup holders on the engine box or raise the motor box up by placing a 2x4 under it. If it’s not air then likely the trans/prop. My 17 PS with 5.7 doesn’t need even half throttle for pull up of 190lb skiers.
  2. Always been a Malibu guy but now have a 17 Prostar. As far as I’m concerned the Prostar is a better boat in all the important areas even though the new Malibu came out 3 years later. That’s why I switched brand loyalty even though I really wanted to like and buy the new Malibu I just couldn’t pull the trigger on it.
  3. @DW Echelon and RLX are wider hulls. Won’t fit. @baja pacific coast has a windshield but it is also too wide and so the middle flip out section would have to be cut down which would make it harder to move through. And a custom one was going to cost I think something like $4,000-$6,000. Yikes. Would be ideal to find a boat that has been written off by an insurance because of sinking or something like that with an intact windshield.
  4. Great advise from Chad above for sure. Read that a few times. Getting use to where you need to be to keep the boat centered is also a learned skill. Taking passes without a skier and just having a passenger letting you know whether to move to the left or right to stay centered will help the driver get familiar with the visual cues as to where to position himself/herself to stay centered. After determining this it may help to put a piece of tape on the bow as a visual reference centering point as driving skills are honed.
  5. Buddy of mine has a 99 Malibu Sportster that had part of the windshield taken out in a windstorm this winter. Needs the passenger side frame and glass or at a minimum the passenger side blade glass. Because of the curve in the glass I don’t think it would be interchangeable with the drivers side blade glass. Anyone know of one for sale out there? Boat is in southern BC. About 2 hours north of Seattle. Closer the better to keep shipping costs down.
  6. Oh man that is so sad. Never met the guy but he was always heavily involved in Waterski Magazine (Regular issues and Boat Buyers Guides), Pro Tour events, etc. Obviously a top mover and shaker on the Waterski scene for just about ever! RIP Ed.
  7. Correct me if I’m wrong but the last hull went from 2001-2013. Pretty impressive 12 year run.
  8. Nothing wrong with the current Prostar but it is already, hard to believe, in its 6th production year and soon to be 7th year. Anything word out there about a Prostar 2.0 in the works?
  9. @SkiJay I know the first few shipments have only gone out but do you anticipate making 2 versions of this fin? A, let’s call it, “Pro” version cut from billet and coated as it is and an average “Joe” version made from aluminum sheet and just anodized. Would it be reasonable to assume that the cost for the “Joe” version could be cut down to the $150-$200 range?
  10. Thanks Horton! As a longer line skier this will be high on my “gotta have it” list.
  11. Have just over 100 sets on my Kevlar Radar Boas and probably good for another 50-100 sets. Think that is reasonable.
  12. What’s with the side firing exhaust dumps? Pick a side depending on which side your surfing or just reduce noise behind the boat for the surfer/skier?
  13. Rope and handle. Got to connect to the boat. ?
  14. The amount of time spent on changing direction (the turn) is insane...wow. I know that's not all that's needed to complete a pass at this short a line but wow, just wow.
  15. @SusanT thanks for keeping us up to date on the greater Phoenix area sites. Will be watching...
  16. If the real world buy price of a Nautique is considerably more than an MC or BU we as consumers should support those companies. Watch how quickly the price of the Nautique would drop. A product carrying a higher price makes a consumer feel as if they are getting a better or higher quality item. Not always true can just be marketing. Not saying it’s not true but hey if everyone jumps brand loyalty away from Nautique watch how quickly the marketing guys there would react. Caveat- slalom boats are a small market would hate to have a big 3 drop out of DD boat production because of mass brand exodus to fight against potentially inflated pricing.
  17. @Skirvind for reference what line length and speeds did you ski with these fins?
  18. Zero Off site says you need the newer single puck set up to upgrade to Rev S. Single puck set up is $450. Rev S download is $50.
  19. Any MC dealer should have one of these cables. Cheaper to let them bill you for the download shop time than buying a cable.
  20. @sullyski very nice ride. Can you give us some background? Is it original, restored? Motor in it, etc. @MISkier love the 93 S&S in blue flake. That might be my restore project sometime in the future. Almost picked one up years ago but it was on a mismatched trailer.
  21. @Ed_Johnson and @aussiemc thank you for taking the time to respond. Will check into it and get this done!
  22. Bought a used PS. Have not even had it on the water yet or spent enough time with it to get familiar with it’s systems but want to upgrade to Rev S. It’s a 17 with a single puck ZO. Where/how do I find the head units serial and model number?
  23. Handle control to get wider and reduce slack. Keep the elbows pinned to the vest on the edge change to stay connected. As per twhisper. Got just a few skis in end of the year and really concentrated on this. Very excitied about the dividends it will pay in 2019.
  24. Some George Orwell quotes, During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear. There are some ideas so wrong that only a very intelligent person could believe in them. Myths which are believed in tend to become true. Every generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it.
