  1. Is this old news that I may have missed? See red circle. What is it exactly? Auto-steer?
  2. Way off topic but if a V-drive is your thing then a 2015 or earlier Malibu VTX w/ diamond hull is tough to beat for it’s slalom wake. You will be amazed at the amount of storage space you have. My 2008 did not have the center pylon but somewhere around 2013 they introduced that. My wife and friends favorite boat of all time! Have a 2017 Prostar now as I mostly chase those annoying little red balls.

    WTF?!?!?

@Ski2000 those are probably air intake vents on the far sides of the deck under the windshield? If you take water over the bow it will just wash into the bildge area. Like the look!
  4. Have said it before. Gauge sucks. Should be redesigned to work properly. You can buy a POS car that has better gauge accuracy. It needs to be fixed. Everything else I love about my 17.
  5. Everything!! Looking at how these skiers are geared up though this is not a high speed division. I would however be wearing a wetsuit to prevent unwanted water intrusion into body cavities and goggles. Pretty sure that Radar ski will be operating outside of its design parameters. The top class in this sport reach speeds into the 130 MPH range. Would be fun to watch.
  6. Thought the Radar grip was good until I discovered Masterline. Never wanted to spend that much on a handle but now that I have will not go back. In fairness to Radar they are less expensive so you just can’t expect the same level of grip.
  7. 5.3 in a Prostar? Never heard of it. Ilmor makes them but not available in Prostar as far as I know. Correct me if I’m wrong.
  8. Never been a Nautique guy. Never owned one. The ones I drove were solid boats. Have always been a Malibu guy but now on team MC after Malibu strayed on the 17+ models. Did Nautique fail? Don’t think the new version is easy to look at and is a hard price to swallow. But they are pushing the limits of design, body lines and wake tech. Who else can get away with building hulls with varying dangly bits and get away with it. Good on them. How boring to keep turning out the same old stuff!! Not selling my 17 PS anytime soon though. No dangly bits to achieve the same objective and much easier on the eye.
  9. As far as I know the Carbitex Vapor boots fit narrower than the Pulse. I have a narrow foot in a size 10 and the size 11 Vapor Carbitex fit perfectly. Think the Pulse will be a better fit for you as you stated your food is wide?! As far as skis, I have owned a 17/19 and 20 Senate and 20 is my favorite. And just to confirm that the newer iterations of the Radar line keep getting better my ski buddy had a 17 Vapor and now a 20 Vapor and he definitely prefers his 20. Yes, it’s worth moving from a 14 to 20 Senate...no question at all!!
  10. The beep is there to save you from a big repair bill. Funny its never bothered me but see how it could. Darn it now that you’ve mentioned it it will make me more sensitive to this and will probably bother me now. @mcdrew I have a 17 as well and read somewhere that because the battery is located in the rear of the boat there is significant(normal) voltage drop because of the distance and size of cables. The new 2021 has the battery relocated under the passenger seat and should have reduced voltage drop because of the shorter distance.
  11. Where is the build a boat for the 2021? Not on MC site as far as I can see.
  12. Have a 17 Prostar but my previous 13 Malibu TXi had probably the most bow room and decent freeboard so it’s harder to dip the nose. Wakes not quite as good as the Prostar.
  13. Radar inside out boa gloves. Wear well, fit well and good grip. 41 tail gloves the palm Velcro always blew off from deep water starts. Never an issue with the Radar Boa, dial in your tension level.
  14. Loosen bottom strap and top bungie before taking boot off help?
  15. Never had wear there yet but only get about 60 sets in a season. Canada is not conducive to a long season. Always take boots out of shell and let them dry and keep them out of the Sun. Sounds like you do the same. Maybe your experience with average use is 150 sets/season and you have a higher wear rate??
  16. Skied a few pretty places but Radar Lake tops them all.
  17. Wow. That looks way better than when I ski ?
  18. @Kwoody51 had the ‘14 Green Vapor whatever that version was!?? It was more sensitive to position on the ski, it liked tip pressure to turn well. The new iterations of Vapor/Senate are less sensitive to body position and are just so darn easy to ski even if you are not in perfect position. As an example my friend was on a HO S2 at the time that I had the 14 Vapor. When he tried that ski he wasn’t sold because he felt it didn’t turn as well as he was used to. Enter the newer versions of the Senate and he is sold. First time on my 19 Senate Lithium and he was totally psyched on it. He picked up a 20 Senate Pro and hasn’t looked back. In fact anyone that tries his 20 Senate Pro is choked because they love it so much and know that this is the new ski they have to buy. The Senate shape is amazing and will ski well whether you are free skiing and prefer the Alloy/Graphite version or are buoy hunting and prefer the Lithium/Pro version. The guy on our lake that purchased my 19 Senate Lithium says how much he loves that ski every time I run into him. Radar is obviously doing things right.
  19. The newer Senates are just plain old more refined. You don’t have to be in perfect position and it will still do what you need it to do. Have had a 14 Vapor then 17/19/20 Senate versions. Each year they are better...don’t know how they do it. OP the Graphite would probably be the correct version for you.
  20. If I recall correctly the FXi was a 20’ boat with a widened running surface. The SSLXi is 21’6” and has a narrower running surface same as the response of that era. Narrower better wakes on the SSLXi.
  21. So many times ballers have directed people to search out a 99-2004 SSLXi for their particular needs. Dad wants a good slalom tug, family wants room and higher freeboard to be able to venture into public waters, a tower so the kids can be pulled on tubes or what have you and still utilize the rear seats and have a huge storage locker to keep things from under foot. So remake this product with all the good stuff...higher freeboard, awesome hull shape for the great wakes but widen it slightly for more interior room. Would this sell?!
  22. Thank you @ScottScott ! Front passenger side engine mount was the location. Love Ball of Spray!
  23. @Jody_Seal the least technical answer from the most qualified...?
