  1. The IG post says this is the “first ever 200”.... what?
  2. @Horton when they say “sales are up” are they talking about units sold or more dollars? Very hard for me to believe with the price of boats the mfgs are selling more units....
  3. Golf. Just like skiing in the sense of I can easily gauge where my skill level is & see it going up or down throughout the year
  4. I’m not sure what everyone is so skeptical about. We have pretty much all skied & driven the 200. They aren’t changing the hull, so we know what we’re getting in those categories. If it’s stripped down, that’s exactly what people on this very website have been asking for for years. Even if it still costs $50K new (I think a base 200 in prior years was about $60K) that’s still wayyyyy less than the 2019 Nautique and a good amount less than a MC or Malibu... also personally I prefer the 200 over any of the other boats including the 2019 Nautique
  5. @Wish as someone who has zbox & now has ZO, I think ZO is easier. It’s not easy to ski buoys with the speed varying ball to ball
  6. @scotchipman I’m not so sure about that... we just finished season number 3 with our CP and i have not once noticed that boat lacking power, and it can get very hot in KY in the summer.
  7. @DW as far as the engine power goes, I don’t think this is an isolated issue. We had a new Malibu at a few tournaments this year and no one would even try it for a 36 mph skier. Was supposedly barely getting to 34 in time on a pretty decent size lake. Same issue with the last Txi they had (still a new hull) but not as bad as the 18. The quality in the 18 I was in seemed fine, it did make a very weird sound when it was put in reverse the few times I was in it.
  8. Is Malibu really not offering free dealer service to fix the issue? Not to get off topic, but last week I commented that the 14 prostars had a hard time getting to 36 & got a response that matercraft fixed all those transmissions under warranty... that had to cost more than a $50 blower
  9. I have no clue where they ski, but the Dalton’s are up there & they are some of the nicest people I have ever met, & very good coaches. If you get a chance to ski with them do not pass that up
  10. I really can’t believe it hasn’t been said but... make sure you’re head is up as you’re turning the ball. That was an instant fix for me rushing my turn. Look at the next ball over the bow of the boat, the next shore, down the buoy line, or at the boat.
  11. How many hours are on the boat? I have read from multiple people that those engines aren’t broken in until around 200 hours, after that a lot of power issues seem to go away
  12. Would bet anything it was fisherman
  13. I tried to make a team at the University of Kentucky, and after 1 meeting with the school I quickly realized it wasn’t going to work. No funding at all from the school, & when the team was “kicked off campus” back in the late 90’s it ended pretty bad. Only reason we would have even received permission to form a club is because the advisor for club sports was the advisor and an alum of my fraternity. After I realized tournaments are on the same weekends as football games (yeah UK is horrible at football, but we still tailgate & no one wants to miss that) it got put to the side
  14. Our zbox fluctuated enough buoy to buoy we sold it to get a ZO boat. Wasn’t worth the headache
  15. Simple answer is live closer to the lake. I grew up 25 mins away from the ski lake, skied 5-6 days a week. Now graduated college, moved about an hour away... today was my first day skiing in nearly 2 months, before that was maybe twice a week
  16. Depending on how fast you ski, or if the boat ever gets used at 36, I do know the 14s had some trouble getting to 36 on anything but a long set up
  17. My boat is a 2012 Carbon Pro, PB is behind an 07 196 w ZO
  18. Plus they are the best looking boats on the market. Never seen a MC I didn’t think was a good looking boat. Cannot say the same for CC or Malibu
  19. @LLUSA I skied at Cincinnati for 2 years. Virtually no support from the school, but we made it work. Both coaches are promo members, the team pays them to use their boats once a week at practice. I understand that Bama gets help from the school, but that is not the way most collegiate teams function, especially in the Midwest. Most either don’t have a team boat or it’s not particularly new
  20. I loved the V type. Had I not run it up on some rocks at nationals in Texas last year I would still be riding that. Not the fastest ski in the world which I like bc when I am on an excessively fast ski I end up with slack at the ball every time. Very stable, controlled turns, finishes with TONS of angle. I ran stock everything
  21. @Spatch17 cost of a ski is a lot more than just materials and labor
