  1. @JohnN @ShaneH ... thanks very very much. I knew you guys would come through. I do have the one with the flames and now at least I have something to go forward with.
  2. @DW ... likely not comparable with the 66 but appreciate any and everything I can get.
  3. So I got this old ski for next to nothing the only problem is I bought it totally blank and have no idea what the set-up should be. I know how helpful and knowledgeable ballers are , any input from someone that had/has one would be great , looking for DFT , Fin depth and length , and wing angle or if I even should use it. Thanks.
  4. x2 @Wayne , I have the Oneill Revenge Comp ... best vest I have ever used IMO. Until you go back to a vest without it you will not notice a difference but trust me you will.
  5. @KcSwerver how do you like that Meguiars vinyl cleaner and protectant ? I just bought some and have yet to use it.
  6. 60 degree air temps here at 7am in Atlantic Canada ... wearing a O'neill Revenge vest and Oneill boardies ... will not put shorty suit on until 40 range.
  7. Lots of great info on here , @kmenard thanks for the pic. I have seen the swim noodle mods lots of time in the past. I did look on youtube and there is a great vid on there that tests all the guys mounts with the floaty. It will float ONLY the standard mount and camera from what I could tell. I think I will go with the floaty and the tether to the standard mount. Thanks!
  8. Just curious if anyone has one and if you do, how are you mounting to the ski ? I received one last week as a birthday gift from my girl. Since I really do not want to lose it to the bottom of the river a back door floaty is going on it , just wondering if I should be purchasing the surf board mount with the stronger adhesive and tether , Thoughts ?
  9. @Brady and @Amwetskier ... agree 100 percent , all the people in our area have switched to wakeboarding (shudder) cause of this attitude.
  10. @ KcSwerver , I agree guess I kept my backup ski a 93 Kidder Redline Supreme long enough that the pink and purple bottom is back in style... UGH!
  11. Glad to come across this thread my old Kidder Redline had the wing "upside down" as opposed to the position most new skis are coming with. I grew accustomed to running it that way so I flipped it immediately when I purchased my new Iconn C-6 carbon (old now). I was just considering trying it the opposite way. Will be interesting to see any difference.
  12. Jordan well written , Than_Boggan that is great news ! When my g/f (a figure skating coach) wanted to progress from 2 skis on a Friday to the slalom on the following day I told her "Honey that is not the way it works" and I went into a diatribe of how she should drop one first. Her response "can't I try" Guess what ... second pull up and swerving. Used the same tactics as Jordan. Still smile thinking back to it.
  13. I am wondering if anyone is using them and are they any good ? I found one new for 35 bucks taxes in , it is an 8 section , 2000 lb break strength tested with the straight performance series handle. It is good to 38 off. I figure I can't buy a rec rope in Canada for this price so how could I go wrong. Any feedback welcome. Thanks.
  14. @sunvalleylaw you have made the best argument on here in both your posts ... in a recent argument last week (I think I won) I stated that the boat in waterski events only provides the propulsion to the athlete, no differently than gravity does in any "downhill" sport , ski-ing , snowboarding , bob sleigh , luge , kayaking , even diving, I could go on but everyone gets the idea. With the new timing systems I feel that now is the time for the sport to be revisited.
  15. Have him change his jets first and fix that issue THEN if the problem persists start to troubleshoot the clicking. I am thinking he will need to adjust the timing for elevation as well, so this could be the cause of your clicking. If the ignition is not advanced enough for altitude it will cause this to happen.
  16. Oh and btw the helpful part in that above .pdf is on page 9 re: Main jets.
  17. Did you adjust the carburetor for the difference in altitude ? If not this is most likely the culprit , might want to read this holley.com/data/Products/Technical/R7849-2.pdf good luck and let us know if it helps!
  18. Hey Wish ... I was re-reading Ty O's article just the other night in the 'man library'. I showed my g/f the basketball buoy which was kind of cool. This forum is great the people you sort of meet!
  19. So do you all owe swerveit an apology now for being doubting thomases ?
  20. Class move Mr. Horton! ... I was going to offer them mine as I still have a redline my g/f rides it w/o the wing ... of course we will not get into that discussion on here.
  21. Thanks for the feedback Chuck ... I should of mentioned it was used. 60 dollars is the asking price , not sure if this is fair or not plus shipping.
  22. Just wondering if you like it or not ... do they run small like the boost vest ? Feedback wanted!
  23. Scot Ellis had me on the new v this spring and the ease of use to the step bottom was unreal!
  24. wlrottge ... I ski on a 66 Iconn sonic c-6. It is the 2002 model (maybe 2001) last year they were made. It has the clear coat carbon fiber , black , orange and blue graphics. It is a fantastic ski. I bought it on ebay for 10 bucks blank , no fin , no fin block. I ended up learning a lot more than I cared too about Iconn trying to find parts. Here is what you need to know. The bindings and plates on the ski ... Front plate and boot is a KD (now D3) ... you can simply buy a D3 driver or KD Leverage with the front plate and it will mount right on . I used 99 KD 7000 double plates and double boots and they mounted right to the ski. You should be able to find something on ski-it-again. Good luck.
