  1. I am making back to back -22's then 2 to 3 -28's just about every set so I figured I should try some -32's. I do have a 'progressor line' with the 30 loop....forgo or try it first? Main things to focus on at -32 and how does it compare to -28 apart from the obvious increase in intensity?
  2. Way cool! I really noticed her as part of the top 3 last season. Psyched to see how far she goes on the mighty Vapor pro!
  3. This Saturday the New Melones waterski club will have the 1st meeting in a long time due to the drought that has emptied the states 5th largest reservoir. Currently the lake is 82% (or so) full and rising with the massive snow pack starting to melt fast! There is a perfect spot for a course tucked away and protected on the south end, the big however, is the old course is destroyed and needs to be replaced. The biggest bummer is there are very few people interested in the club left to participate in the expenses and labor it will take to get a course in the water. I will attend and pitch in as well as help in any way I can, however, in the past 4 years I have enjoyed the private lake experience and will continue to spend most of my time there with the goal of running -32 this year! Yesterday a fellow skier brought up a used course or reaching out here for ideas to build a new one on a budget for the deep water floating type on Melones? Any tips, links or leads to what is needed is appreciated and will be passed on to those in charge of the club, thanks! Lastly, anyone in the Bay to Sacramento area in need of a site I can put you in touch with the folks to get a membership. Don
  4. @Texas6 are you talking about the Carbitex or the Vapor boots? Carbitex is even stiffer than the regular Vapor -dreading that break in time
  5. Just pour very warm water over it on the dock with foot in the boot -according to a recent conversation with a rep!
  6. @ToddL thanks bro!! I really appreciate your detailed response. I Just spoke with Eddie and he clarified several questions about breaking in the boots as well and the rivet deal too!
  7. @"Mateo Vargas" so 4 total? Sorry a picture would be great What are the spacers for? It really seems like there is less connection points with the single plate than having the plate for each boot.
  8. Any climbing routes established on the cliffs?
  9. Thanks guys - @davemac usually I never read instructions but this helped a lot -thank you!!!! @"Mateo Vargas" should there be 4 of those metal spacers or just two? Anyway to post a pic of the set up here? Also do you guys know if the boot screws can be found at Lowes? I had to rob them from my other boots and due to the break in time I would like to go back and forth till there broke in.
  10. I just got the new Vapor carbitex boots with sequence mounting plate. No instructions or pics included The sequence plate does not line up with the holes on my 17 vapor pro ski. Look closely at the pic - if the front hole of the rear boot is aligned the back hole of the front boot is not. Both side aligned I cannot figure this out. Can any users post pics so I can see how the spacers (in pic) are used and maybe help answer why the holes are not lining up?
  11. Love my 17 pro build smooth and predictable. Slams the onside and offside is good too. When I get on the back foot the tip goes back down immediately. Coral or 'salmon pink' is what the boys on the dock call it. :#
  12. This is the very first thing I look at when the boat mysteriously wont start. Last summer lake owners were frantically looking at the engine and talking about blown gaskets. We were all walking down the levee back to the dock and I said lets double check the kill switch and re seat it -bam fixed!
  13. I skied every month through the winter including getting 4 passes at -28 in a row which was a PB in a dry suit!!
  14. Thinking I could just cut the fingers off some Kevlar gloves
  15. What palm protectors under your gloves do you opt for? Overtons brand is discontinued. Links appreciated!
  16. @BCM be careful fishing that tube deeper. About 4 years ago I kept pushing the tube to what I thought was the pan and get a better flow going only to get the tube stuck where there is a splash guard type piece of sheet metal that follows the tranny gears. Same exact boat as yours....Tube broke off and I was deep pooh. Ended up having to hire a patient of mine who worked on boats to remove the trany to get the tube out. I have pics somewhere. Getting the gears lined up to put it back together was the most time/$ consuming part. Sounds like you have a handle on it with all the suggestions, I just wanted to share my story and what can go wrong If you have me help you work on your boat,...ha!
  17. @keithh2oskier and @usaski1 did you guys ever sample the ski cove at New Melones? There is a member at the private lake I ski at that said the cove at Melones (when functional) is a much better set up with rollers and stuff than Pedro's.
  18. Snowed in Sonora Ca one week ago, skied yesterday with 70* air and today 71* ish Hard to beat California!
  19. I live in Sonora Ca. which is in the same county as Yosemite so the nearest private water where I'm a member is 1 hour away. I also have the 5th and 6th largest lakes in Cali in my backyard - New Melones and Don Pedro. Both have a had a fair amount of history in the slalom world in fact 'Edged in water 2' went from scenes in France to Don Pedro lake -section with the 2 house boats and all the top skiers getting together to slalom party. Currently both lakes have plenty of water due to the drought ending huber winter Cali just endured! Melones club is shrunk to next to no one interested, but Pedro has buoys in water and a group still keeping it real with docks and families involved with house boats. The course is tucked away in a private cove with good protection. On side note on the amount of water Pedro has opened it's spillway for the second time in the forty something years it's been in operation. This was just from the rainfall. There remains the largest snowpack ever recorded in the Sierras so it should be an interesting spring and summer! Just seeing if any Bay area or other skiers might be headed this way to get out on the water this summer?
  20. Two huge lakes in my area (Nor Cal)Don Pedro and New Melones are wake board and party lake central. Both have ski clubs selling memberships. Here's the secret I learned real fast; the wake boarders don't get out of bed till noon. We would have the ski cove to ourselves any Friday morning and pretty much any weeknight or early am weekend start!
  21. Just as much Vegas as So Cal tho right? I used to climb a lot at a place called 'New Jack city' outside of Barstow
