  1. 5.11 or 5.12 free (unprotected) climbs? I don't understand it. Maybe I'm too old, or not core enough.
  2. 12 footers are more than enough fun. I think I'd have heart attacks just being near a 40 footer. I get rubber legs when I'm 8 feet away from Corbets drop zone.
  3. I'm calling a new design of Goode or Radar hard boots, since I see 5 *s.
  4. This is NOT for how to get your shine back, but how to preserve it. However, it may not be a good solution, because it involves hazardous material. But here it is anyway. First, find someone with a 80's vintage Porsche 911SC/Carerra, and ask if you have their used antifreeze mixture (from the overflow tank or when they are flushing). The good part is that you don't need much. Get that, and you can diluted with some distilled water, maybe 3 to 1 ratio. Most have silicone in it already, but you can spray a little WD40 in it if you want. It must be from that 911 vintage, otherwise, you're wasting your time. This used antifreeze is special, because it has been exposed to the special aluminum alloy engine block and head that were used in those years. So, it serves as a metal preservative. Then all you have to do is to smear this onto your shiny prop with a shop rag. Wear gloves and make sure your pets or children are not around to ingest it. Viola, your prop will remain shiny for awhile. Finally, don't get it into the lake or public drainage. Staying with the 80's theme, got too much time on my hands.
  5. Is it the 'Limited' edition? If yes, then probably add a thousand to it.
  6. Always used it. I also have the habit of flipping the cover open/close couple times just to draw fresh air in when I walk by it. I turn the blower on between sets as well, but not when the boat is running, because I think it used to interfere with PP, due to voltage draw. Also, probably less of an issue for current direct fuel injected engines, unlike the carburetor and TBI boats that has fuel evaporating inside of the cover. But I still have the same habit, just in case.
  7. First the parents 'should' not allow their kids to ski very short line with the Junior rope. But I imagine that some will try to squeeze every ounce if advantage over others. Since the junior line's primary benefit is for light skier at long line; and short line skier tend to go with the standard ropes. Then it would seem that another simple solution is to limit the junior rope to 22 off. The parent/kid make the rope decision before hopping into the water. To me, it's not likely that a kid 'needs' to ski long line will get into 28 off.
  8. I can speak for most, we like videos.
  9. I had the same thought on the handle after Horton's post. You also tie that to Zero Off/ PP so it is only enable in the course, otherwise you drop the rope into the lake after each set, or just messing around at the end of the lake. Wifi signal? hard line?
  10. I'd imagine the muscular boys skiing 68 and 69 inch skis would put a 500-600 lb load range on occasion behind the boat. At entanglement, it'd be far less. So, that eliminates load releasing type mechanism. It is definitely a tough nut to crack. We definitely have to think outside of the box for this one. Also, many skiers do not have observer. And even if you do, when do you pull, and are you fast enough?
  11. it's not stable, and slow moving. Now they're saying Debby is going north bound.
  12. Yes I agree that real time the skier gets the benefit of doubt. However, we're talking about the photo. One, he significantly displace or straddle the buoy already. Secondly, I don't think his front foot can get outside of the buoy based on how deep the ski edge is set already. I'm calling it miss if all I had was this photo. Your opinion is different obviously.
  13. What if... Jeff is part of Mapple? Then you'd have Andy, Chris, and Jeff.
  14. If he won, then that's probably the end of it. However, if a record was set, then it maybe a different story. I don't know the exact process of approving them. From the Rule book: 10.03 A Miss A. It is a miss to ride inside a turn buoy or outside the entrance or exit gate, or to ride over, straddle, or jump a turn buoy, but there is no penalty for grazing a turn or gate buoy with the ski or part of the body. B. Riding over shall be defined as hitting a turn or gate buoy with the ski so as to move it significantly from its position or temporarily sink it. Hitting a turn or exit gate buoy less severely shall be considered as grazing. (See chart in Appendix) so, based on the photo, he missed.
  15. The 9100 'should' be more structurally sounded, because of the two ribs on the top sheets. All other ones are flat top sheets. And it has 5-Year Limited Warranty.
  16. This rule can apply to the more senior division to ski 55k as an option.
  17. Wouldn't be more simple to let any division to have the option to run up to 58k max? You'd just have to declare so before you attempt the first gate (or when you initially communicate with the boat crew).
  18. 'Not really appropriate music for a 13 or 14 year old.' What Chef23 said. Fixed it for ya...Check me out , am only 14 years old and do 5 bouys @ 11mt ,. and won panamerican championship in 2010, with 13 years old and doing panamerican record 5@12 mt. I AM A REALLY GOD GIVEN TALENT.
  19. So, is this something that boat owners should check once awhile? That is, every 5 or 10 years? I noticed that some boats I've driven are much looser than others.
  20. Here's my opinion: The manufacturing process perhaps is more consistent, thus a stick from one company is more predictable. There will always be design tweaks, thus changing the riding characteristics. Design itself probably has not have major breakthrough in recent years. Think about it, you can only change so much on something that work. So, in my mind, the tweaks result in different riding characteristics. Keep in mind that design changes are made at all levels. For example, bad a$$es skiing at -39 will want different feel and performance from skier who are at 15 off.
  21. Went with hard shell almost from the start, with no issues. Maybe it's because I'm half way decent snow skier and boarder.
  22. I'd think if you're 5' 10", 130lb, that gaining 30 will get you more buoys.
  23. I thought about tri-fins as well. I think it would work much better if the catamaran fins were much smaller and curvier, like surfboard ones.
