  1. Back in 2007, @Chad_Scott called me to come ski a tournament at the Ski Ranch. I hemmed and hawed how much I just liked skiing and hanging out on our own lake. He paused, then called me something not nice. Keep in mind we were and are long time close friends. So, I said, OK, since you put it like that sign me up. And, so it began.
  2. Finally! Yesterday. It felt great to get on the water! Last time was New Year's eve. 65 air, 54 water (well, near the surface).
  3. @ToddK Does your heal stay in your "hack job" pretty well? It looks like there is a little for heal cup with it than on the HRT. When does @brooks make these available as production units?
  4. Wow. Definitely sad news. Only met Steve a few times. Always very gracious and fun. And, an amazing skier. What he did last year to win Nats in Illinois in high winds and huge chop was incredible. And, I believe it was the 2019 Nats where he tied for first, and after 3 run-offs still didn't break the tie, he and the other skier agreed and convinced the officials to just leave it a tie. Great stuff. RIP Steve. Condolences to his faimily and many friends!
  5. Hmmm. Instead of hacking that nice boot so bad, maybe the HRT?
  6. My ski partner has an older single line display PP system on his 89 Ski Brendella, it works great.
  7. @ctorthopa13 I noticed in your pictures that you are able to use 4 screws to hold down the rear of your Sequence plate. With the metal horseshoe piece I have for both of my Sequence plates, I can either catch the forward-most 2 holes, or the more rearward 2 holes, but not all 4. I use the 2 forward holes. No biggie, 2 screws has always held fine. Just curious if the horseshoe piece is now a little longer front-to-back? Maybe @brooks or @ColeGiacopuzzi can answer?
  8. @KRoundy I am sure there are differing personal preferences. I have found that NOT heat molding the liners feels the best. I have had 2 pairs of the Strada boots, and two pairs of Vapor Carbitex. I did the heat molding with one pair of the Carbitex. They were OK, but I always felt the other 3 pairs were more comfortable. When I set up my new 2022 front boot, I will not heat mold the liner. Again, preferrences will vary.
  9. Incredible weather. New Year's Eve set in south Bama with no neoprene! 78 air, 74 water. Sweet. Dropping fast tomorrow though.
  10. Took a set on December 26th. Unusualy warm even for the south, 75 air, 66 water. Even warmer last few days, hit 80 today.
  11. @gjohnson Is that the movie where boy meets girl in the snow, boy loses girl because of a misunderstanding, and then boy finds girl again at Christmas? I love that movie!
  12. @lpskier That's awesome John. I'm jealous! Need to ski that place one of these days. Heading to Colorado in February.
  13. @lpskier That looks some some great conditions at Whiteface for early December, or for anytime of the season. Was it as good as it looks? Skied many areas around western and central NY, but never up that way.
  14. @richfoster Nice job getting thread back on target. Need your help again. B)
  15. Ah, come on @unksskis I had this thread off topic and less serious at the expense of my trick video master rating, and my background check of being a child candy bar thieve - and you go ahead and post a serious comment! What gives?
  16. I would be curious what the experience has been using the new Vapor boot with a releasable binding. Any thoughts from those doing this? I use the Carbitex boots now, but will be upgrading. Initially, just mounting them to my existing Sequence plate.
  17. @Mrs_MS Too funny about your grand larceny. Back in my single digit age some 50+ years ago, I intentionally stole a candy bar, and my mom made me do the same. Is this off topic, in this thread?
  18. @lpskier Hey John, looks great. More details! Where is it located? Length, width, planned depth in the course?
  19. Hot damn! An actual thread about ski equipment and skiing. Well, mostly.
  20. A couple weeks in the Rockies. And, no more Covid excuse for not being in the gym.
  21. @Luzz Not good at darts. Let me guess, as proven at the 7th Buoy?
