  1. Has anyone dealt with a seaweed know as figwort, or Hydrotrida caroliniana? It seems to be rather uncommon (maybe) since I cannot find much info about it online. The local university extension (UGA) person who looked at it did not think grass carp would be very effective until the lake was first treated with a herbicide. So, this could get expensive. Up until now it has been mostly just a nuisance, but now it is like a bunch of it has come loose (no doubt aided by some Malibu RLxi running up and down the lake) - and now we have so much floating on the surface, it is getting almost impossible to ski. If you have any experience with this particularly weed, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
  2. It is called HO Accurate World Cup glove. They have them. At Performance Surf n Ski
  3. Try the HO Accurate glove. These have a lightly padded palm that work great protecting your hands. I did not think they would hold up well, but they hold up very well. And, when they do wear out, they retail at only 39.99
  4. Geez y'all...chuck is a pussy, prob crumble if he got behind a boat
  5. @Than_Bogan Yes, 3rd paragraph...well said, and prob speaks for many, but not all (and no right or wrong, everyone marches to their own drummer).
  6. What @Than_Bogan said in last paragraph...
  7. Very nice recovery Adam. What did you end up with?
  8. 3 years ago I skied in the Cedar Ridge 4th of July weekend tourny. Went over to Lonnie's and watched Todd Johnson jump in and run right through 39 without missing a buoy, crazy skiing! You guys know, you've been there. The funny line of the day - Tim H asked Todd what he thought after his opener - when Todd could quit laughing he said, "you sure don't have time to adjust your shorts"!
  9. And back skiing and doing fine early this spring using dbl Stradas. Have not had to release yet, but every so many passes I 'test' them by pulling my ski off without releasing the elastic cords. My feet come right out with liners on. Nice.
  10. I believe the point @MrJones is making is that in a straight forward OTF or straight forward tip stuff the front heel needs to able to rise or the front boot release because there may not be enough force to peel a full plate in this situation, at least not every time. That is exactly how I ruptured my front achilles last summer. First set with new rubber high wraps, the heel of front boot was like darn vice and did not let my heel lift. Would have been exact same result with dbl hard shells relying on the whole plate to peel from the rear. No doubt in my mind.
  11. Thank you kind sir.... BTW - finally put my wing back at using 7 degrees to start. Seemed to help me make a lil better turns and be a lil more consistent at 32. Don't feel like I lost any speed. Glad I spent a lot of time trying it though
  12. Oh crap....had other things going on later yesterday....hope I don't get a panda for that
  13. are you Reflex users happy with them? On double Stradas now and liking them. If I were to try something else, it will be Reflex with the R-Style rear
  14. It was awesome for all the reasons well stated on the other related thread. What time do things get fired up today?
  15. @Mike - ditto with the Radar Strada boots. After I was unabale to mend my old Animals anymore - and with my dislike (and injury) of the new design - I just switched to the Stradas. I like them a lot. May also try Reflex in the fall.
  16. Too long ago to remember, and was not counting anyway. It was milk jugs in the Ohio river and certainly not accurate either. 18 foot open bow 4 cylinder Mercruiser I/O.
  17. Used to love Animals back when they were red, black and white - not the colors, but better design, fit and materials. Go with Wiley's now.
  18. 07 RLxi - my wife drives and has no issues with tracking. Gives her just enough feedback that she can tell if I am leaning too soon, or getting it done behind the boat. If you are having any issues at all - and you should not be - check the adjustable piece on the rudder. It should be sticking out to one side a LOT to create a light pull to the right. Once you have this set, you will have no issues with tracking.
  19. I see a pretty, young girl on page 20. Is there something else?
  20. 3M Marine products inside and out. Probably closer to every 2-3 months. Gets waxed late October for the limited use season, the first warm weekend late winter/early spring to start the season and a couple times in between. The trick for those of us who keep our boats for years is to keep the gel coat oxidation from starting by keeping some wax on it. Once oxidation starts, what a forever PITA (time to sell).
  21. Or, almost identical to the Kodak Zx5 is the Kodak Playsport, if you can still find them. Does awesome HD video onto an SD card, and high quality stills. Camera and some cards should keep you under a C note. Waterproof to 10 feet.
