  1. Larry, See if your doctor will get you a aircast Cyro cuff to ice your ankle. Insurance might cover it. If insurance doesn't cover it you can find them on eBay. I bought the one that has a motor that pumps water in/out. If you can keep swelling down it will help a lot! I still use mine after 3 months when I finish biking or rehab. Worth the money I think. Progress will be slow, so when you think you are not progressing think back 2 weeks ago and remember how hard it was just to balance on one foot. Look at my past post about using a scale to find your weight you ankle can take. I found that useful to let me know you are getting stronger. Good luck. Jon Tate.
  2. MikeT, To give yourself a gauge of progress, with a scale and your ball of injured foot put pressure on scale until your anle gives or it hurts. Read the weight. That is the weight you can support. Example: I weight 175. I can support 60 lbs on injured foot. Last week it was 50lbs. I'm 14 weeks post op. If I could loose 115lbs I would be 100 %, instead I'm 30%.
  3. Cooper Tate is on RTP and ripped this weekend. Maybe a little partial. I think it's a bad idea have young kids on hardshells or double boots. I watched Cooper take some falls that would have put me in the hospital.
  4. When I had my surgery, doctor told me the might be some numbness in areas from the nerves that may be cut. I never had numbness. He told me if I did the feeling would come back. I walk with a limp and can not lift my heal off the ground. Not strong enough yet. I was able to ride my bike 1 miles yesterday. Felt good.
  5. Can you update Zero Off boats to the new x factor?
  6. A ski school needs to buy it so I can try it!
  7. Also look at. http://finishlynx.com/isolynx/player_tracking.html This system would unlock the vault. Date would be incredible.

  9. Unfortunately when you have an injury you have to find a doctor that is available to repair you and do the research yourself for rehab. There are two schools of thought on Achilles injurys. 1. Don't do anything and keep cast on for at least 4 weeks. Then continue doing very little. 2. Get cast off quick get on feet as soon as possible to stop loss of motion and atrophy. Doc decided on plan 1. I went with plan 2 after I got cast off after 4 weeks. Was able to ride my bike for 30 min at a 16mph pace. Not great but, felt good to be moving.
  10. To sound very unscientific, a lady from some university developed a system for football to know exactly where the nose of the ball was at any given time. She use some pods around the field with a sensor in the nose of the ball. Even under a pile of player, the ball could be located exactly. This system could work for our sport. Put the sensor on the skier and the track and speed could logged.

    MC vs SN 200

Looking to purchase 2011/12 boat. What I like about the MC is the look and price. What I don't like is the wake at the longer line is not as friendly, making for a harder sell later. What I like about the SN 200 is the wake. That's it. I don't like the price, rpm's or gas burn. Thoughs from those that are not loyal to any boat company? If anyone is going thru hard times and need to dump there 11 or 12 boat let me know. I sold my boat and need a replacement before spring.
  12. So if the boat is pulling hard right do you grind on the left side?
  13. Started running 38 in a tournament. Season ended early with an injury. Out for the year!
  14. Just got a air cast Cyro cuff today. Got tired if ice packs. This thing is great! $149 on eBay. I wish I would have got this 4 weeks ago. I figure I will still get a lot of use.

    Trakker

I have had the p4 for 3 years. I video every day. It works great. Wish I could mount my iPad to it.
  16. PT going well. Ankle is feeling looser when I move it around. Started walking with a shoe indoors only Monday. Very tight. No where close to a normal gate, but nice to be in a shoe. We worked on balancing on one foot. The first time I tried I could not do it for 2 secs. I can stand for a minute on a good try. BobS wife just get thru the first month. Things get better after that!
  17. I saw a chart at one time that gave the angle at each rope length. Where can I find that again?
  18. I bought a boat from a skier in North Carolina. It was not registered because it was used on private lake. I have not registered it in Tennessee for the same reason. Is it going to be a problem selling with it being registered?
  19. Went to doc today (38 days post op). I went early because things have felt different the last two days and I couldn't wait until my scheduled Monday appointment. The feeling of tape pulling has went away and I feel less tightness. He said that was a good thing. Start pt in the morning. In two weeks I will get a brace that I can wear with my shoe. If the brace works I will go back to work Oct 1. I tried sleeping with boot one night and was done with that. I use two ace bandages wrap them loose enought to restrict my foot from flexing. Sleeping ok now.
  20. My 2009 196 is for sale SE, 159 hours, shower, ramlin trailer. Pics on ski-it-again.
  21. I think edgeChange is related to speed. If you have more speed the edge change has to be more aggressive giving more space into ball. Controlling your speed gives less space but allows you keep a tighter line. Watching Maple, it seems he is very fast behind boat, makes a hard edge change rides tall into the ball on a lighter edge the drops in at the ball with a tight rope. The ski can not ride flat even for a Nano second. You loose line support.
  22. Sounds good email me t8racer@yahoo.com MikeT and Garn Emil me and let me know your progress.
  23. No pt yet. I ask him at 4 week post op visit, he said wait. Went to one last week dust for a consult. Was not clear on how much I should push the range of motion. He gave me the same thing you are doing. I'm doing that at home. Walking with out crutches feels fine. No pain or feel of the tendon stretching. I always have my crutches with me. I'm not walking around all day without crutches. @Zman. Do you feel as if there is tape on your Achilles pulling your skin when you lift your toe up?
  24. After doing a lot of reading on recovery protocol. I have decided to start walking with my boot. I am 5 weeks from surgery. After cast came off at week 4, I worked on range of motion at least once a hour since I still can't return to work. Thursday I started crutch assisted walking. Saturday a little without but had problems because my boot made my leg longer making it hard to walk. Monday I cut straps off flip flop and dual locked ( found something it is good for)it to my shoe to level my legs. Workes great! Still not walking all the time. Back to doctor Monday.
  25. @Mr.Jones. Would the reflex R saved my Achilles ?
