  1. to millions of people out in the real world it means: a thug that has "made it" to the big time. Originally refered to ball players that made it out of the streets to make millions as a pro ball player, but now is used to describe any thug that is living large. quoted from the online urban dictonary
  2. go to a beer distributor and get as many free or really cheap promotional beer cozies as they'll give you. cut the bottoms out and add a short center stitch between the second and third fingers. forget the thumb hole its not needed since the cozy will be to short anyway but it will still do what its supposed to. before you reject the idea try it you'll prolly be surprised.
  3. per jeff rogers tell her to turn her back to the buoy and try to sit on the 1 ball
  4. mapple factory numbers for the 68 are 6.800 x 2.520 x .775 with binders at 30 with 8 degree wing. everyone ive talked to likes the binders a little farther forward and a little less depth than factory. also last chris parrish numbers i heard were 6.828 x 2.516 x .785 - 30
  5. we've had the same issues with the new ones plus the price is higher than before. a couple of us switched to the kevlar liner gloves and now prefer them instead.
  6. aging sucks but its better than the alternative.
  7. from memory i think the estimated cheat on the balls was between 2 and 3 feet on each side base on the photos other skiers took. the handle and rope had to be premeasured to follow record tourny rules so no cheat there.
  8. its not possible for the skier to travel directly at a radar gun because the skiers path is never a straight line so its not accurate. any traffic cop can tell you about the restrictions on using radar to legally map a drivers speed and one of the big ones is you cant use radar on a curving stretch of road because its not accurate and the ticket can be beat in court. the best way to solve the speed question and the short line path question is old fashion aireal mapping and graphing with direct overhead video shot from a helicopter going the same speed as the boat. maybe the guy who posts those overhead videos here could help do that.
  9. all this talk about the boat displacing the gate ball as if that makes the miss happen, but i believe the ball is moved *wider* by the boat making the gate opening larger and favoring the close brush by the skier. if the boat didnt move the ball smith's miss would have been even worse since he would have passed even more up course of the balls original location. a couple of years ago ward williams i think wrote an article in water ski mag saying the best gate angle was about 45 degrees, that makes the benefit of brushing the rt hand ball real close very small compared to a winning pass denied for missing.
  10. how is the buoy being hidden from the skier a factor? do you think nate smith could have altered his path at the last micro second? i think his path was pretty well determined and unchangable by the time he hit the first white water
  11. if the method for determining the winner of the super bowl was spelled out in the rules available to everyone and if the judges followed those rules carefully like they do in water sking i would think there wouldnt be any law suits
  12. anyone remember Excel made in seattle in the 70s?
  13. i assume the lanyards need to be rigid cord and non stretchy so the release will be consistant?
  14. perhaps a lot of athletic tape and a lace up ankle support sleeve is in your future
  15. your too tall for the medium when new the suit comes with ankle cinches.
  16. even with dual lock cant you still use the factory insert in the ski to screw the sfe in place? maybe cut out the dual lock just where the thing would sit?
  17. to me it looks likes a drag brake that will lever the ski around an be most effective from the apex of turn thru the hook up so back or front position will decide what part of the ski digs in and levers the ski around. way forward might make the ski turn finish abrupt maybe to much? back to far an the ski might not want to turn? maybe put in different places on each side?
  18. way back at the time it was decided to use half meter cuts after 38 off i bet no one ever thought it would go much past 39 1/2 off
  19. i read about half way through and my head started to hurt
  20. that parkit360 thing looks kind of slow i kept thinking 'later that same year.......'
  21. senate c or vice? the guy on the video and the top of the ski say vice.
  22. nothing ive ever done working out came close to the more than 600 lbs ive seen terry winter pull on the west coast slalom video maybe thats why were still sore after skiing
  23. the radar info is found on a printed insert radar packages with the strata boots showing a photo of a scale and a guy pulling on the laces also has text recommending minimal tension and setting 35lbs as a maximum
  24. i bet it works but those harnesses look kind of man parts unfriendly and you might want to grease the safety release a little bit
  25. Radar recommends a maximum of 35 lbs up force on the elastic lace that i suppose you could measure with a fishing scale or whatever
