  1. My best friend is finally leaving the wake board thing and going to slalom. The only problem is all I have is a old 67" combo set and he can only drop one, way to small for deep water start. He is 220-230 lbs and 6' tall. I am thinking a 69" or 70" ski that he can get up easily on and progress some in the sport. What are your suggestions? Thanks guys!
  2. Another example of OJ props building their props for the skier not the driver. My OJ XMP 4 blade 13.7x17.5 .110 prop feels light years better behind the boat then the 14x18 3 blade factory prop.
  3. Ok @jefflyman, How about some pictures of the wake and spray??? Waiting! LOL
  4. I have this problem as well... I run Firefox 12. but also Horton, I have had the issue sometimes with Chrome on my Netbook
  5. A buddy decided to put his ski right on top of mine and the fin scratched the top of mine. I did put a handle into the fan once trying to straighten the rope out in the living room....
  6. Saw this on the MasterCraft TT, I saved the document. Very good, important info there! Glad to see it's spreading to other watersports/boating sites
  7. Give Eric from OJ Props a call and tell him exactly what you are after with the wake. I'm sure he can get you a prop that will help with the the hard wake...
  8. @drshred, what are the measurements?
  9. @GAJ0004, Yes the 1991-1994 Prostar 190 is the same hull. I have heard that era PS190/197 has a very similar wake...
  10. Hmm, I can see the added 100-200 lbs making the wake a little harder... Interesting comparison, thank you! What era PS?
  11. @GAJ0004 do you know the gear ratio's of the two pro star's you compared?
  12. how much are you thinking on the 67" @Horton?
  13. So, back in 2004 when I purchased my 91 MasterCraft Prostar 190, I bought from a family friend and avid slalom skier, who bought it new and taught me to ski for the first time behind it back in late 91. Anyway, back to the story. I drive from Florida to West Virginia to get her after getting a call at 10:30 at night asking if I wanted the boat (duh!) as he had back/neck surgery and wanted to get rid of her to avoid the temptation. About 7:00 am in Virginia, I am on my way back from WV to FL with my new pride and joy when some guy heading the opposite direction decided to jump the median and come straight at me, I hit the brakes and pull the wheel as hard right as I felt safe (with a ditch about 3 feet to the right of the road). As he goes by me in my lane I was in 9 seconds prior, I look at my mirror as I watch my boat slam into the right guild pole and fender on the trailer and the wheel about to go into the ditch, I turn back left and get the trailer back straight. I pull off the next road so I can change my shorts, inspect my boat for damage (thank goodness there was none) and calm down a little. Luckily, the rest of the trip was completely uneventful except for a few people coming up to look at the boat at gas stations.
  14. My OJ CNC #454 4 blade did wonders for my boat as I said, but not only did the hole shot improve, it make the boat feel a little more forgiving behind the boat. IT also flattened the bump a bit, and felt like it made the wake a little softer (this could be in my head). Lastly, it lowered my rpm by about 200 rpm. When I called Eric, I told him I wanted everything listed above, and the prop delivered!
  15. @Laz, I have told him to switch props, He was speaking with Eric from OJ on the matter... Then he had a baby and the boat went on the back burner.
  16. I agree with east tx skier, I would vote for the gear reduction over a slightly higher HP boat with the 1:1. My 91 MC PS190 240hp w/ the 1.52:1 felt as strong as a 285hp 1:1 I skied behind. Also Now with my OJ CNC 4 blade, its even better. Also, a buddy has a 2010 Moomba Outback with the 325hp 1:1 factory 13x13 3 blade, That boat really feels weak out of the hole compared to my PS190 but is faster mid-topend by a bit.
  17. Ha! You know @jipster43, I was thinking the same thing! How sad is it that my handle is blue, my vest is blue, my shorts are blue and my boat is blue?
  18. Thank you @crashman, @Stoner and @Chef23! looks like I will be looking for a Vice!
  19. @crashman, Thanks for the input. I have considered the Vice as well, but as you say, I was scared that it was too much ski for me. How is the Vice in open water? How does it handle mild chop? Is it stable?
  20. @LeonL I thought the lighter carbon skis would be less forgiving in open water (i.e. some chop) If that is not the case then that's fine with me, I will then look into the SL and C versions.
  21. I currently free ski 90% of the time @ 34mph. When I do hit the course, I ski 15 off 30mph (try is more like it) My ski at the moment is a 2006 HO Vengeance w/ double Animals. I looking at the HO Coefficient X (Non SL) and the Radar Senate (Non C) sense I assume these will be more forgiving in open water. I am looking for "real world skiers" opinions on these verses what I am currently on. Thank you for your time!
  22. good luck JP! Let me know how it works out.... PM on TT or something. I know he has suggested the 13x11.5 CNC 3 blade in the past for the 1:1. how much to get some cup taken out?
  23. btw, let me know when you get that tab and how it works! I have thought about it!
