  1. I just got one for my birthday, but haven't tried it out yet since it is a balmy 5 degrees here in Ohio.
  2. I use Valvoline VR1 40w in my GT 40.
  3. @MitchellM, if you are coming down Mantee Ave. from Bradenton, right where is narrows down from 4 lanes to two lanes, if you look south, there is a course sitting right behind some big houses. I have never seen a ski boat on any of the lifts close by and no one using the course.
  4. @bdave6er, I go down to that area every year and I have never seen anyone using that course.
  5. How do the Carbitex bindings fit, do they run large or true to size? I am between sizes, I wear a 7.5 shoe. I always size down for snow ski boots, but wasn't sure what to do in this case, since the smallest is a 6-7. Thank you!
  6. I really appreciate everyone's insight into this topic. My anal retentive self filled my model year 2001 SN up with non-ethanol fuel and added stable to it, I would rather be safe than sorry.
  7. @Kelvin thank you, that is my train of thought, but I was having a discussion with a few members of our club and they were the other train of thought it doesn't matter as long as the fuel was non-ethanol or had stable in it.
  8. Good Afternoon All, For those of us that have to winterize our boats, wanted to ask a quick question. Is it best to store the boat with a full tank of gas, either non-ethanol or stable added, or does it not matter as long as the fuel that is in the tank is either non-ethanol or has stable in it? I have heard it both ways over the years and was just wondering what is best. Thank you,AJ
  9. Trophy Lakes near Charleston is about 2.5 down the road.
  10. Thank you all for your responses. @JayG80, thank you that is what I was thinking. The rust is mainly located on the fenders, the running gear isn't showing much rust. @jhughes fortunately I do not have to travel far for the new one. I am going with a loadmaster trailer, which is custom trailer manufacture that is about 20 minutes from my house. @Hockdog, two reasons. First is a space issue in my garage. Current trailer does not have a swing away tongue, which I need for the space in my garage. Next I have started trailering the boat to our summer place which is a bit of a hike from the house and it makes me nervous trailering the boat that far on a 21 year old trailer even though the running gear appears to be in decent shape, never know what is lurking where you can't see. I have always kept it serviced, but after a incident that I had with my truck and the boat last year, the hitch that was bolted to the frame of the truck rusted through at the welds and it snapped off while trailering the boat back to storage. So the unknow things you can't see, internal rust, has made me a bit uneasy with the trailering the boat on a old trailer long distances.
  11. Good Afternoon All, I am possibly replacing my trailer that is under my MY 2001 Natutique. The current trailer is an Eagle. Overall the trailer is in decent shape, bearings, brakes, and bunk carpet replaced within the last year. Anyone have an idea of what I might be able to get if I decide to sell that trailer? Just trying to get an idea of what I might be able to get for it before I list it. Thank you, AJ

    New Trailer

@PatM, thank you, that is what I am hearing. I live in Northern Ohio and there is a large trailer manufacturer, loadmaster, that will custom make one for me, which I am leaning towards, but wanted to see what all my options are.

    New Trailer

Hello All, I am looking at getting a new trailer for my MY 2001 SN. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a trailer manufacture. I am waiting on a price quote from boatmate and phoenix. My current trailer is an eagle that is really starting to show it's age with some bad rust. I don't need anything over the top, i trailer my boat about 10 miles each way to our pond, which is freshwater. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you, AJ
  15. Give it to me, I will send you a care package of booze!
  16. @MDB1056 first set out was a success, just ran my opener a bunch and the knee was fine. So I am going to try an pack in a summers worth of skiing in the next month and half. @lpskier Nope not Canadian. The reason for waiting for the surgery was because I am doing a pretty big home renovation project that was supposed to start in May, but didn't get started until the end of July, which I am hoping that it will be done by the time I go in for surgery in Nov. I tore down my old garage and building a new 42'w x 30'd with a walk up second floor. Contractor has really been dragging his feet. Had I known that this thing was going to be delayed so much, I would have opted for surgery right after the injury.
  17. It's a problem when you haven't skied all year because of a torn ACL, then the doctor schedules surgery for Nov. and tells you that you will probably miss all or part of the following season and you decide screw it, I am going to give skiing a shot this year, so I am not missing two seasons. Wish me luck, I am giving it a go today.
  18. Thank you all for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I am reading all of this after a couple bourbons and hearing that my friends are putting in the course next week. @The_MS, I am 43, I am a 34 mph 22-32 off skier. I used to jump, but don't think that is going to be in the cards anymore. @Horton, that is good to hear that a repaired leg can be as strong if not stronger than the uninjured leg. Unfortunately, I have to push surgery until fall, we are getting ready to start a major home renovation, and I am doing a bunch of the work to save us a substantial amount of money. Right now, my knee feels really good, almost normal, but I am wearing a brace daily and haven't pushed it much, but what I have done it feels ok. @BraceMaker how does the CTI brace hold up in the water? That brace looks like a much stronger brace than the DonJoy Defiance that the doctor is recommending. @RazorRoss3 what style of graft did you have? @Zman I start prehab next week and I am looking forward to it. I am looking at the prehab and the rehab as my new extreme sports for the next year. @vtjc the graft style, surgeon, procedure and everything along those lines have been at the forefront of my mind. The first doctor I meet with, I described what I do with water and snow skiing and I don't think he really grasped it. Which is way I am getting a second opinion from a doctor that I got in with that does a lot of work with professional athletes in my area. @slow I like to hear that, I am hoping to catch of the end of snow ski season in 2022 and then be able to ski that summer. @ral I haven't given my knee much of a chance to be unstable since my injury, I have been wearing a brace almost all day everyday, but if I take the brace off, my knee feels loose, it probably wouldn't give out, but I am not taking any chances. @markn when I hear stories like yours and @ForrestGump and some of the others, it makes me think twice about have it repaired, but on the other hand I have two small kids at home and worry about not being able to do things down the road with them because I screwed up my knee more. Honestly, I am shocked with 35 years of snow skiing and water skiing, plus all of the other stuff that I do that I haven't had a significant injury like this before, so I guess I was playing with house money. Again, I really appreciate everyone's feedback.
  19. Good Afternoon All, It sucks to be starting another one of these threads and I apologize for the length of the post, but I blew my ACL just over a month ago. Drunk snow skier decided he wanted to go to the opposite side of the hill and hung a left into me. I didn't see him until I was hitting him, happened so fast, skis didn't release and I of course twisted hard when I fell. MRI two weeks ago and confirmed that I had a full tear to my ACL. Fortunately everything else is intact and no other damage. Also, have pretty good strength in the injured knee, which happens to be my front foot. Met with a surgeon last week and he is recommending that I have surgery to be able to get back to where I was before the injury. He did clear me to mountain bike and some other activities this summer, but strongly suggested that I do not ski this summer, for fear of causing damage to the rest of the knee. I reluctantly agree with him and have partially resigned myself to the fact that I won't be skiing for the first time in over 35 years. I have an appointment for a second opinion next week, not that I am expecting to hear much different, but the doctor I am seeing does a lot with professional athletes. Few questions I have for the group: 1) First doctor is recommending a quadricep graft. I know it is a newer style of ACL reconstruction. Has anyone had it and what has your experience been with it? Have any of the medical professionals on here seen a high relapse rate with that style? 2) I am currently wearing a hinged brace that I bought at target to provide stability because my knee does feel a bit unstable when I do not have it one. Doctor said that they could get me a custom brace, they recommended a DonJoy Defiance brace. I told him that whatever brace I get, it needs to be able to hold up in water because I spend a lot of time in the water even when not skiing. He told me that no brace is waterproof, but said the DonJoy does hold up well as long as you take care of it. For those of you that have used that brace what has been your experience with it? If I am plunking down the cost of a new ski for a brace, I want to make sure that I am getting the best. I saw in other threads, people mentioned CTI braces. Is there a brace that skiers would recommend for longevity, durability and support? 3) I mentioned above that I am partially resigned to not skiing this year, but for those of you that skied with a torn ACL, what was your experience and did you end up causing additional damage? I really appreciate the feedback in advance and sorry for the long post. Take care, AJ
  20. @Oldkier, I think I saw one for sale in NC recently. It was posted on the Nautiques owner page on Facebook.
  21. Tdub, have your kids buy you a new boat.

Does anyone have any more information about this ski? How does it compare to the EVO or NRG?
