  2. @db, are you saying that Friday's clinic with Wade is not happening? A friend reserved a spot for myself and him on Friday. I just want to make sure before I drive up there next week.
  3. My new favorite is Alchemy Hour Double IPA by Great Lakes Brewery. If you can get it in your area, I highly recommend it.
  4. @ramskr, sorry I wasn't able to locate the people that Ham mentioned. When I was driving home on 40, I did see a cable park that wasn't to far from Wilmington. You might give them a shout to see if they know anyone that might be able to give you a pull. Sorry I couldn't help you out.
  5. @iff, I will certainly post anything I am able to find. Right now, I have not been able to find anything.
  6. Well AWSA didn't turn up anything either. Anyone else know of anywhere around the Wilmington area that I might be able to catch a ride. Would hate to go all of Memorial day weekend without getting a set in.
  7. @skimech Thank you. I appreciate it. I will check out the USA waterski website to see if I can turn anything up.
  8. Hello All, I am going to be spending Memorial Day weekend in Wilmington, NC and was wondering if there was anywhere close by that I might be able to catch a set or two. I will be getting in late Friday and leaving on Monday. I appreciate the help in advance. Thank you, Aaron
  9. @deanoski, can you tell me how you support the arch of your foot then? That is one of the problems that I deal with is that I have a high arch and without support it feels like it is going to collapse. I am a racer and many of the people that I race with use footbeds. We all use footbeds to support our feet, i.e. arch and take any unnecessary slop out of the boots. I can tell you that my boots are not to big, because I am two sizes down in snow ski boots and a size down in my hardshells. I feel that having my foot supported by the footbed helps to give my feet a solid platform to deliver power to my skis or ski.
  10. Are the super feet ones customizable or are they just a footbed that eventually forms to your foot? I think that I am looking for something customizable since that seems to work best for my snow skiing.
  11. I just got a pair of the sidas custom footbeds for my snow ski boots after I ruined my previous pair. They are really comfortable and seem to be made very well, but still don't know if they would hold up. Here is a link to the ones that I am currently using for snow skiing. http://www.sidassport.com/en/our-products/winter-sports/winter-custom-pro-45-2.html
  12. Hello All, Well, my season has started yet, but that doesn't mean that I am not thinking about being out on the water. Last season I purchased my first set of hardshell bindings and really like everything about them except for the footbeds that they came with, no arch support. So, I took my custom footbeds that I had for my snow ski boots and as soon as I did that I noticed the bindings fit way better and I was able to get a similar feel that I do in my snow boots, which I really liked. However, my custom beds did not like being submerged in water repeatdily and they began to fall apart. They were over 16 years old, but still worked great in my snow ski boots. I am now looking for new foot beds for my waterski bindings. Has anyone found any footbeds that hold up with being submerged in the water time and time again and still maintain the custom shape? I really appreciate everyone advice in advance. Thanks, AJ
  13. Drew I have a jump sling, I think that it is a medium. I live in Columbus. Feel free to send me a PM.
  14. Hello All, Sorry this is going to be a little long. I hope everyone is doing well today. I had started a discussion earlier this year about hard-shell bindings and I finally decide which ones that I was going to get. I went with the HO's and so far, after two sets, I really like them. However, I do have a couple questions and I am hoping that you guys might be able to help me out. Not sure if anyone else is using it or not, but I had to get the adapter plate because my ski has D3 inserts in it. I was wondering with the adapter plate, does anyone know what the purpose of the middle plastic plate is used for? On the HO adapter plate it is split into three different pieces. One holds the toe piece on, and uses the top two holes, the rear holds the heel piece in place using the rear two holes, and finally the middle plastic piece that has nothing mounted to it. I am not sure what the purpose is and if it does not really have a purpose, I would like to get rid of it and save a little weight. Also, besides for trying a friends hard-shells a couple of times, this is the first time that I have had hard-shells. When I measured my rubber boots before I took them off my ski, I was at 29 1/4" from the tail of the ski on the front binding. When I got the exo's mounted up, my front boot was 30" from the tail. However, I feel like I am more tail heavy on the ski now then I was on my rubber boots. I am really trying to concentrate on being way up on my front foot, but it still seems that coming across the course that I am on the tail a lot. Should I try to move the boots forward more or is there something else that I should be trying? I don't have a ton of sets under my belt this year, so maybe it will get better as I start to ski more. Just wasn't sure if anyone else that has switched to the exo's has experience this problem. Overall, I love the boots. They are very comfortable and I feel that ski is even more responsive then before. I will give a warning to anyone that is thinking about getting them and skis on a ski that is not drilled for HO bindings, you will have to make a modification to the rear plate because it is only drilled for skis with HO inserts. I had a friend that works in a machine shop, drill out the plate to fit D3 rear holes. I really appreciate everyone's help. Have a good day, AJ
  15. I appreciate everyones feedback and advice. I guess I might need to clarify something. The reason I want to go with a double boot single plate set-up is because I took a nasty fall last summer where only one foot came out of my bindings(currently use double rubber boots) and I twisted my knee and that cut my season short. So I don't want to have to worry about one foot coming out and the other one staying in the ski. So that is why I have narrowed my search down to a double boot single plate set-up with a release unit. Again, I really appreciate everyone's knowledge and feedback.
  16. Hello All, I was hoping that all of you smart people on this board might be able to drop a little knowledge on me. I am looking at getting a hardshell set-up for this coming season. I came to the decision that I want everything mounted on a single plate and have a release unit, so that really narrows my choice down to the Connelly's and the HO's. I have some experience with the Connelly's because a lot of my friends currently use Fogmans and the only thing different is the boots that are on the plate. However, I am intrigued by the HO set-up because I come from a snow ski background and think that the release system looks much more advance then the Fogman design, I know I should never read a book by its cover. I am currently leaning towards the HO system, but still on the fence. I will be mounting which ever system I get on to a Nomad RCX, so I know with the HO's I will have to use the adapter plate. Can anyone tell me the pro's and con's of each system? How using the adaptor plate for the HO system affects the performance of the ski? Which boots for the HO system do people prefer? Can you still get the traditional Fogman set-up? If so what do people think about the boots on that system? Has anyone skied the new Connelly set-up? What do you feel about the boots? I am sorry, I know I just asked a lot of questions, but I want to make sure that I get something that I am going to enjoy and it will help to improve my skiing. Thank you for any help in advance. Have a good day, AJ
