  1. 09 TDI Touareg, pulling the boat I get 22-24 mpg, without the boat 30-32 mpg.
  2. +1 for the Touareg. It pulled my boat home from VT like there was nothing behind it. Btw, the drive ended up being 12.5 hours.
  3. My 2001 SN, that I picked up this summer. Absolutely love the boat.
  4. @hogballer, the way a nautique backs up is actually easier once you get used to it. When coming into a dock if you point the bow in and then start the stern swinging in and then bump reverse it will make some of the softest dockings you have ever had, but it is a matter of personal preference.
  5. @adkh2oskier, I am really sorry to hear about your weather. I guess I should be happy with what we got.
  6. @Tdub you are correct I agree, I think Mother Nature needs a swift kick right in the rear end. When I skied Friday night the pond was only 68.9, that is freaking ridiculous.
  7. @vtjc it did find a good home. I will baby it as much as the previous owner did. You have a beautiful state and hope to make it up there to spend some more time and take it all in, instead of the two hours I was there. @Tdub thank you. I wouldn't be as afraid to take it, now that we are all older and much more responsible (that last part is a bunch of bull). I do owe you some sets, so let me know when you are free.
  8. @Than_Bogan you are right, it is gorgeous and hard to get to. If there was a major highway that connected with I-90, my drive probably would have been 2-3 hours shorter, but still worth the drive to discover such a beautiful area and meet some great people. Thank you all for the kind words, I absolutely love the look of the boat and the way is skis and drives.
  9. @Than_Bogan yes that is the site that previous owner skis at. The site was absolutely beautiful. He was really nice and then I got to meet one of his ski partners as well and he was a super nice guy too! That is the first time I have been that far east and couldn't believe how beautiful that part of the country was.
  10. Drove 20 hours round trip to pick her up, but it was well worth the drive. This boat is beyond clean. The previous owner took exceptional care of it and my family and I are over joyed to have it. Also, got to ski on a really cool site in Vermont and meet some really nice people.
  11. I used to work for a Boat US tower and you wouldn't believe the crap that we would go out in to save people. We were out when the Coast Guard wouldn't go out. If you are spending time on a large body of water, I would highly suggest getting tow insurance, most hull insurance policy's do not cover towing, they usually only cover groundings or something like that. If you are ever in need of a tow and can't flag down a good sam, a tow is very expensive. We would charge 150 an hour and that was before we added in things like weather or night. To get an unlimited Boat US membership is only $75 dollars and it is the best piece of mind that you can buy.
  12. I didn't think the 02's had the GT-40. I thought the EFI motors were the Excalibur ones.
  13. Hello All, I hoping that you can part some of your infinite wisdom on me. I am looking at 02 Nautique that has the 5.0 motor in. In talking with the owner he told me that it was not EFI, but Throttle Body Fuel Injected. I am not sure what the difference is and was hoping that someone could explain this to me. Would there be much difference in maintenance vs if it was EFI, what are the biggest differences between those two set ups? Do you think that there would be an issue using this set up on a short lake and skiing 36 mph? Any other information that you think I might need and I am not asking, please pass it along. I really appreciate everyones help in advance.
  14. Hello All, Has anyone ever bought a boat outside of the US? What did you have to do to import it, what taxes and fees did you have to pay, and was the process difficult? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you, AJ
  15. You can also try amazon. We ordered balls from there last year.
  16. @tdub I will put it in for you, but I will pass on the no suit part.
  17. @tdub have you started skiing in your dry suit yet?
  18. @Tmkowalski‌ I have a medium schiek sling that I am not using any longer. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss.
  19. I wish you were closer to Columbus, Ohio because I am in need of a new ski partner.
  20. @uflbret‌ can you pm the listings you are seeing for TSC1 boats that are sub 10K? I am looking for a boat and all of the ones up north are asking a premium price that I just don't think they are worth. Thank you for your help in advance.
  21. @craig, if I am putting them in the car, I put the tips in the trunk and then the tails run right up the center armrest. If I am using my rack, I just flip them upside down and put the tails toward the rear of the car. My rack is tall enough that I can flip the skis over with the bindings on them.
  22. @h20ski1326, I have an 06 Jetta TDI and I just put my 90" jumpers inside the car. I drop the passenger rear seat down and run the skis right up through the middle and they stop right before the gear shift, they don't get in the way. I have done this with my wife riding shotgun, dog in the back passenger side and then another passenger riding behind me. I do it this way when I don't want to remove the bindings, but if I remove the bindings, I don't even have to drop the seat down, I can just run them from the trunk through the center armrest and up the middle. Also, there have been times that I have used my roof rack for all of my waterski equipment. I have a thule rack and thule ski attachment and I can either stack my jumpers without bindings on them and put a slalom ski on as well or just have my jumpers side by side when I don't want to take the bindings off. Most snow ski racks will clamp down enough for the skis to fill snug in the rack.
  23. @jody_seal, thank you for the information. Was it the mastercraft that they were running the big engine in? I do remember reading something along the way that one of the skifly boats was running a v-10, but from what I remember that was when they were first developing ski flying and not sure if that was the engine package that they landed on and used for tournaments.
  24. Anybody know what ever happened to the red nautique ski fly boat? Was that the one with the v10 in it?
  25. @makeall6, that is my favorite place to ski.
