  1. Hey @T-dub, if you want to test the main switch, I have a spare in my garage. Just let me know and I can drop it off.
  2. @A_B, preach on. We haven't even put our course in yet.

    SN Trailer

Thank you all for your feed back. @oldjeep, I have priced out many trailers, some built by well know trailer manufactures, including phoenix and some local trailer manufactures and all of them were north 4600. I didn't think the 200 trailer would work, but it was a shot in the dark. I will keep looking, thank you all of your insight.

    SN Trailer

Thank you guys for your responses. @oldjeep I do plan on keeping the boat for a very long time, but the drive to my lake is so short that I have a hard time justifying a brand new trailer to the CEO. @Orlando76, I am in Ohio, but was going to be driving down to FL in March to visit some friends and was going to have an empty hitch, so I thought it might work out. Yes I am referencing the 200 trailer that is on SIA from FL. I e-mailed the seller to see if it would fit my boat and he did not mention having another trailer for sale.

    SN Trailer

Well I missed out on the trailer that I originally posted about. However, I found a trailer that was for a Ski Nautique 200 that is for sale. I was wondering if that would fit an 01 SN? Thanks for the help.
  6. I know that I might catch some flack for this, but I really wish they still made the HO EXO bindings. I feel they rank right up there as some of the safest bindings as long as you know how to set them and maintain them. First, I have been very fortunate to take some crazy falls on them, whether it be running over the ball, going out the back, side, front or twisting fall and they have released as I expect them to. I like everything being on one plate or bar in the case of the EXO, I feel that both feet connected to the same plate and coming out together is really the safest option. My EXO's are getting old, so I am starting to look for new bindings and if I was going to buy some today, I would probably go with the MOB system as everything is on that single plate with a single release unit. With that being said, if anyone has an size small EXO's laying around, please let me know because I would like to continue to use this set up. Now I am not a deep short line skier, run 15-28 @34 and get a few at 32 on a good day, but I feel pretty safe in this current set-up.
  7. @wish how does the long board slalom ski ride? Is it squirrely?
  8. @klindy and @wart, I skied a few college tournaments at Camelot. It was a very interesting site with the way it was set up, you didn't want to fall on the 2,4,6 side of the slalom course, it was a long swim and long walk back around the lake. Also, I remember a few cold mornings sprinting down to the start dock because I over slept and I was up on the dock.
  9. I am not sure if this has been discussed in any other threads, but what binding set-up is @JoelHowley using? The front appears to be as tall as a snow ski boot and maybe the rear is a cut down version.
  10. @Tdub if it makes you feel any better, I always spray some stabil fogging oil into each cylinder and then crank it over a couple times. I know it is probably over kill, but I would rather be safe than sorry.
  11. @Ikb, mine was an 09 so they didn't have a fix for ours. Yes, since I had the recall work done on the Q7 we got the extended warranty.

    SN Trailer

@swc5150, thank you very much for that information. I always thought the beam on the hulls after the bubble butt were wider. I was just out at our site and a friend was there with his 04 and it just seems like a wider boat and was always under the impression that it was. The fact that they are the same width and the trailer should fit my boat is awesome, really didn't want to plunk 4-5 grand to get a new one. Thanks again for responding.

    SN Trailer

Good Afternoon All, I have been searching for a decent used trailer to replace the one that came with my boat. The current one is really starting to show it's age and the bunk plates are starting to rust out, plus my current trailer does not have a swing away tongue, which I would really like, so the boat fits in the garage better. There is a used 2007 Nautique trailer for sale on ski it again and I was wondering if it would fit my boat. I have a model year 2001 196 SN. I know the 2007 SN's were wider than my boat, but do you think the trailer would fit properly under my boat? The trailer that is for sale is within a couple hours of me, but would like to know if it would fit before I make an offer and go see it. Any information is greatly appreciated.
  14. @Ikb I got rid of my TDI Touareg last year when VW bought it back, I turned around and got a Q7 TDI and absolutely love it. You can find some very low mileage ones out there at a price that is less than the GC.
  15. @aspski my Q7 and Touareg were TDI's with the factory tow package. I would do some research on adding the tow package after the fact. I know with the Q7 if it didn't come with the factory tow package, it had the smaller intercooler and there was some coding that had to be done to make some adjustments to the shift points in the tranny and for the electronics to recognize the trailer.
  16. @aspski, I am towing with a Q7 and had a Touareg up until last year. Pretty much the same cars and both are great.
  17. Thank you all for the helpful information.
  18. @DynaSkiPete, yes I have found a professional trailer shop to do the work on the trailer, but just trying to do my homework before I actually take it over to him and have him quote the job. Whatever kit I go with, I am going to have it welded on instead using the bolt on option that many kits come with.
  19. @skihacker I wish I could do that, but my garage is detached and if I cut a whole in it, it will open it up to the outside. The garage is an old carriage house barn. @thager do you by any chance have any pictures?
  20. Quick question for you all. My boat trailer has a short tongue on it and does not have a removable tongue or swing away tongue. The trailer with the platform removed is about 6 inches short from being able to fight straight in my garage, instead I have to jockey it around and loose out on a bunch of storage on one side of my garage. In an effort to not spend 4-5 grand on a new trailer, I am looking at having a swing away tongue installed. Has anyone ever had this done? If so are their any kits out on the market that are better than others? Any pitfalls that I should be aware of? Thank you all for your insight.
  21. @Tdub it seems to me that you are just looking for an excuse to work on your boat since the weather has been so bad and you aren't actually using it. :#
  22. Well that trip didn't suck, landed to about 8 inches at Snowbird on Thursday, then additional 6-8 at Solitude on Friday, and another 6-8 at Park City on Saturday. Overall skied close to 50k vertical feet in 2 1/2 days and got to enjoy some time in the mountains. Park City P.S. Is the link working? This is the first time that I have tried to post using a link.
  23. @sunvalleylaw, thank you for the information. I did see that they are expecting some snow while I am there, just not sure how much. I think I will be hauling the powder skis and race skis out, just in case we are riding a lot of groomers. I love Snow Basin and Powder Mountain down that way. My buddy that I am staying with lives about 10 minutes from PC and is an EMT there, so he gets some nice discounts on PC passes and with the prices of tickets these days, any where I can save a dime is helpful.
  24. Looking forward to making a few turns in the SLC area starting tomorrow. I land first thing tomorrow morning and going straight to the bird, solitude Friday, then PC on Saturday. My legs are going to be tired for that flight home Sunday, but excited to get out in the mountains.
  25. He is a much better skier than bike rider.
