  1. @WallyGater‌ I'm pretty sure Wiley has the $19 one... All you need to do is loosen the screws to reset your wing angle; no more dropping screws on the dock.
  2. @smalor‌ Hopefully you've been taken care of on your issue by now... We've been having some intermittent glitches with the website recently. As others have mentioned, the best way to initiate a warranty claim is through your retailer. We've set it up this way because often they can get you taken care of on the spot, then they work with us on the back end while you're already back on the water. If ever you need additional guidance or have questions, you can always call our customer service team directly. More information on our warranty policies can be found here: https://www.hosports.com/policies.php
  3. We had some glitches recently with the website, but all is functioning well now to my knowledge. As was stated by JayG80, it's typically best to handle warranty claims through your retailer. Depending on the issue, they can take care of most things very quickly, if not on the spot, then deal directly with us on the back end. Feel free to call our customer service team though if ever you have questions. Number is on the website. Warranty policy can also be found here.
  4. We've been having some hiccups with the website recently. Always best to handle warranty issues with the dealer you purchased from. When in doubt, call our customer service team directly at the number on the website. Warranty policies: https://www.hosports.com/policies.php
  5. @Carl1967 Glad to hear you are liking the new ski! It's difficult to tell from the images, but it appears there is maybe some minor scuffing of the ink on the speedskin material (the material itself is white). We don't see this very often, but when we do it's a cosmetic issue and the speedskin is intact (woven texture is still there). We would be happy to inspect the ski here at the factory for you or you can have your dealer take a look. I'm sure we can get this resolved for you either way!
  6. @matthew‌ We will absolutely get you on a new ski! Our Distributor in Australia handles this the same as if you were here in the US. Breakage in general, is something so rare that it's hard to put metrics on it...maybe something on the order of 1 in 5000 or more. PM me if you need any help facilitating the replacement.
  7. Here is some raw iphone video shot from the boat this week in FL... Will cruising at 35 off.
  8. Will's 2nd place at the US Open after only having the new ski for less than a week is a pretty good way to introduce a new ski. Dave Wingerter skied to the podium in his division at Nationals as well... Keep in mind, we've only finished 2 of the 5 sizes so far. Have no fear, there will be plenty "non-marketing" noise out there once the ski is fully in the market.
  9. Thanks for the interest! The 65" Superlite CX and TX were left out of the line starting in 2014. As you've already surmised, we were just not selling enough in that size (maybe 50?) to justify keeping in the line. I've actually suggested to Dave that we consider bringing it back to the line, maybe even for women... It can be tricky positioning it in the line at that pricepoint though; we'll have to see..
  10. The running surface on the front half is essentially the S2, minus the speed steps. Honestly, we were pretty happy with the S2, so really the goal of the design team was to enhance the angle attributes of the A3 and bring them to the vType. It took some time to get it right, but what we have now is a ski that 34 and 36 mph skiers should love equally. You're right though...it was a pretty mixed camp between the A3 and the S2 at the top levels.
  11. @Stevie Boy Glad you're enjoying your S2! It's still a fantastic ski. If you ever switch to a vType, just keep it in the factory position and concentrate on your skiing more than the ski. As skiers, we are great at letting the little things command too much of our thoughts. We're all guilty of this :)
  12. Thanks for the questions, @JAS A3 and S2 are both gone from the line. The vType truly is a blend of the best aspects of both skis. As far as width, vType shares the same width and flatspot under the front foot as the S2. So a 68" would be akin to the 67.5" in the S2. The back half of the new ski is more similar to the A3, but with more rocker as I mentioned above. We've integrated the Speed Skin base material into the entire line, thus we have moved away from the speed steps which were found on the S2 and TX. Let me know if you have any other questions!
  13. Missed this post earlier... vTypes are slowly starting to trickle out of the warehouse; admittedly later getting them out than we'd like to be. Like any new ski, this one has gone through a couple iterations since the first tooling was cut. Rather than rush the new ski out the door to meet a deadline, we were determined to get this ski right. After the success of A3 and S2, the melding of them into the vType had to be done right. It takes time. Now that we're cooking, I can say with a pretty high degree of confidence, folks are really going to like this ski. I've been on one of the final prototypes for close to 3 months. It took me to my PB on my first set and it's only gotten better from there. Naturally, I'm going to say good things since I work for the company, but the response from our demo days has also been very positive. The ski creates more space/angle than my A3 and my S2 and still has the width and stability of the S2 under the front foot. There's also a touch more rocker in the tail which helps produce a tighter turn. @Stevie Boy - the dampening component is not such a new idea to the ski world, especially snow skis. On the vType, the stainless tip weight comes in at about 5oz. out of a 4 lb. total ski weight. It's not too crazy to think that when its paired with an elastomer the way the ski dissipates energy is going to change. It's something to play with and see what works for you. You can change the position; you can even take it off... @jhughes and @bracemaker - we still produce and sell a ton of animals every year...ain't broke for sure. I'll leave it at that unless anyone has other questions they'd like answered.
  14. @skigirl‌ We also make a ski that's between the CX and the Freeride, called the TX. But if your objective is to ski in any water condition and not care what boat is pulling you, then you made a good call going with the Freeride. Just be patient and let the boat take out the slack before you turn back toward the wake.
  15. @Christian Brunner‌ By removing the traditional plate from the boot, we're able to mount each boot using only two M6 screws along the central axis of the ski. This reduces the impact the boots have on the flex characteristics of the ski compared to a boot with traditional plates. This also gives you infinite variations in stance adjustment. The bottom of the boots have three parallel 1.5" long slots in the toe and in the heel. You now have roughly 3.5" of adjustability fore and aft. So you're no longer constrained to the normal 5 holes of a traditional plate, plus you can now pivot your stance across a greater range of rotation without worrying about a plate hanging over the edge of your ski. This design reduces drag in the water and is of course lighter weight. We also make an adapter plate (which is actually the old Attack/Apex plate) that allows you to retrofit the new boots to older skis. Our 2015 website should be live this week or check them out at your dealer this fall. Hope this helps!
  16. We've been having some issues on and off with the website recently. If you need parts, the best thing to do is check to see if your dealer has what you need. Otherwise, call us directly 1-800-938-4646 and we can usually get something in the mail to you within 24-48 hours.
  17. The vMax boot fits and skis nothing like the Apex. It's a boot and it's black. That's pretty much where the similarities to the Apex end. Try one on at your nearest dealer. I'd love to hear your feedback, positive or negative.
  18. @smalor‌ Have you been able to get your issue resolved?
  19. Aside from new graphics, the only difference for 2015 is the addition of new boot inserts in the center of the ski. This allows for the use of our new plateless boots. The standard inserts are still on the ski as well.
  20. @SDNAH2OSKIER‌ we're pretty well sold of that ski here at the factory. Do some hunting around with a local or online dealer and you're bound to find one on sale. If not, the 2015 model will be available soon.
  21. @bogboy‌ there are two colorways of the v-type; black/carbon top w/ black base and "olive drab" top w/yellow base. They are the same ski, just two different looks to appeal to different tastes, similar to what we did on A3 the past couple years. The ski has the width profile of the S2 under the front foot and similar taper to the A3 in the rear. I've been having success on the 66" and I weigh 190lbs / 34mph... It really is an easy ski to hop on and ski well!
  22. check out a HO Superlight CX. Course capable, but less effort in open water...
  23. Sorry to have missed the tournament this weekend!
  24. what we have here is a woman showing off nothing more than she would be if she were wearing a bikini...
