  1. I'm 195lbs and prefer the 67 on both the Alpha and the Omega and 68 on the Pro. I would say if you were happy with your 66.5 S2, you'll like the 67 on both of these. The Omega gets you a little more surface area in the tail and I feel that helps keep the ski in trim.
  2. @Stevie Boy For the most part, the industry has settled on plates and hole patterns that are compatible from brand to brand. In your scenario, I suspect the issue is more related to insert position on the ski or boot location on the plate. I hope you get a chance to ride an Omni and that it exceeds your expectations. When you do, please report back!
  3. @Stevie Boy about the only thing I can recommend would be to get out a Dremel tool and extend the slots/add holes on your plate. We do this all the time so we can test different boot positions. As for the width question, Omni is similar width to Senate; perhaps slightly narrower.
  4. @Stevie Boy I just measured two of my personal Syndicate Omnis. When I bisect the plane of the rear inserts of the front boot, measuring down the centerline of the ski, I get 29 15/16". You should be just fine with your T-Factor.
  5. @vtmecheng I understand the point that you are trying to make, but let’s not get carried away :) No disrespect. Willie is a great skier, but nobody is running tournament speed short line on anything close to 2x4. I’ve spent a good bit on time in the boat with him testing skis and he is very much dedicated to helping us get skis like Syndicate Omni designed right and on the feet of its target skier, namely the 26-34mph buoy chaser. I’m like the majority of readers here, mostly a weekend warrior skiing into 32-35off. I test every slalom ski we make and I can ski on any ski I choose, but Syndicate Omni is ski I keep coming back to. I am way more consistent on this ski at my level; partly because it is less work, but also because it’s just a damn good ski thanks to a team of very talented skiers and designers like Dave and Will. Omega might very well get me off Omni for a while though. Stay tuned.
  6. Thanks @Horton @Jcp Sorry to hear of your issue. We’ve seen a handful of the earlier hoops deform, usually (but not always) after a bad crash. If you are having this issue, please give our customer service team a call, they’ll have you email a photo of your plate/hoop and should be able to get you sorted out in short order. For anyone else reading this, if you have an older hoop and are not having any issue, you should be fine. It’s also never a bad idea to make sure your four fastener nuts are tight and rinse all your gear in fresh water after use in salt water to prevent rust and untimely death to your release mechanism. Finally, we do sell the new hoops as an upgrade item as well. They are twice as thick and cover more of the boot. Hope this info helps folks get the most out of their gear.
  7. @Booze SpeedSkin is a proprietary material we have evolved over the years. It’s more durable than a nexus bottom/resin finish. But the real benefit of the texture is the stability it adds in glass water conditions.
  8. Here are the settings for 66 and 67 Omega: 66" 29.5” 6.840” 2.500" 0.775" 9 deg 67” 30” 6.840 2.500 0.790” 9 deg
  9. I use these: https://metaltecsteel.com/metaltec/shot_bags.asp
  10. @brettmainer Have you tried the Syndicate Pro? That's our higher volume concave design. If you're scrapping for a few extra bouys, Pro might help you do that, but it will feel like more work at your easier passes.
  11. @ktm300 If you haven't already, you should consider trying one in our demo program. There is no better way to know whether a particular ski will suit your style. To answer your question, turns are very symmetrical from side to side and we have established two sets of fin numbers which both work very well if you are within a few 1/1000's. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  12. @JJLoken Sorry to hear of this! A ski breaking is unnerving for a skier as much as it is for a manufacturer. Please call our customer service team at 800-938-4646 so we can discuss getting you set up with a replacement under warranty. To answer your question, assuming the ski didn’t strike something in the water, any HO ski breakage is very rare occurrence but we do take each one very seriously. Thanks.
  13. Three skis with very different ride types. Pro is the ski to choose if you’re a scrappy skier who needs a ski to shut down speed quickly at the buoy and to have the most grip possible when snapping off quick turns. It has the deepest concave volume of the three. Alpha shares the same width profile as Pro but has slightly shallower concave and a lower rocker profile. This makes the Alpha ride just a bit higher in the water and carry more speed. Alpha has been a “go-to” with our lady athletes as it lends itself to more of a finesse skier type. Omega is a completely new shape. Of the three, it has the lowest volume concave and has less taper in the tail. It also has a 4-stage rocker profile and a large flat spot under the front foot. The result is a ski that carries a ton of outbound speed and direction with the least amount of effort. More complete info can be found below.
  14. @Stevie Boy Same as above, but 29.50 boot...exactly my settings.
  15. @bparson same as above but 30.00”
  16. Try these: 6.860 2.495 0.745 29.000
  17. I was looking forward to this report. Glad your dad and you are enjoying it!
  18. reading this just makes me thirsty... gonna go get myself a cold one. Keep going...don't stop there!!!
  19. @hchwilson if you'd like to try a ski before making a decision, we have a demo program here at HO. Details here: https://www.hosports.com/demo I'd suggest a 65" Carbon Omni. It performs very well at your speed and is going to be much easier to ski on than your older EP.
  20. Hi all, sorry I missed this thread from the weekend. Only change for 2019 was updated toe hoop hardware. We have not made the switch to 840 for a couple reasons. Firstly, we are very happy with the current release characteristics and longevity of the 750 design. Secondly and most importantly, the 840 was designed with differently shaped swing arms which changes the release properties when paired with the Syndicate Hardshell. Until we do more testing on it, we will not be changing our spec to the 840 and we do not recommend that users retrofit Syndicate Hardshells with the 840 at this time. Doing so would be at your own risk and void any remaining warranty. I hope this information helps!!

  22. Carbon Evo was discontinued simply due to the fact that the Standard Evo outsold it by about 10:1. We do still have a few 2018 Carbon Evo's available in the warehouse, so if you want one, hit up your local dealer and they can order you one.
  23. @adam Yessir! give our Customer Service Dept a call at 8009384646 or PM me your info.
