  1. @tomme12 this ski is designed for use with our direct connect bindings. The FreeMax boot would be the ideal choice along with a direct connect rear toe. These use M6 inserts much like you find on a wakeboard. I would not recommend drilling or installing inserts elsewhere on the ski.
  2. @BraceMaker This is exactly what we do at here at HO. We have a process where every new shape/layup get's tested for break strength and deflection. Obviously we take broken skis very seriously and always try to learn from them. When you consider the number of skis we put into the market, it really doesn't happen often at all, but as a skier it can be pretty alarming. Generally, it's a no questions asked policy here...
  3. VTX is a great ski. Just like every new ski we build, we try to make it compliment the ski we are carrying over so we have two different feeling skis in the product line. In the case of VTX, we needed a compliment to the VTR, which was a high-riding/shallower concave design. VTX had a deeper concave/wider tail to shut down sooner at the buoy. As far as the top contours go, VTX has a pretty radical look, but we didn't have any increase in breakage with this ski. As @UWSkier alluded, all skis have the potential to break. Athlete feedback was the primary driver for moving back to more flat top designs.
  4. @djycb I would love to have you try a Syndicate Omni or a Carbon Omni through our factory demo program. PM me here if you have any questions on how the program works.
  5. @mbabiash Let me know if you would like to try one through our factory demo program.
  6. In my opinion, Hovercraft is easier to deep water start than combos and many find it easier to get up than a wakeboard. I guess I'd say if your daughter has had success with combos, getting up on Hovercraft is almost guaranteed. As per usual, a patient and skillful coach and driver are always big keys to success as well.
  7. Alpine climbing, ski mountaineering, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, road biking and yes, I also wake surf :p
  8. @Horton Here are the latest "Jesus" settings for a 66: 29.375 6.840 2.508 0.725 9 deg
  9. FWIW, I've tested 67 CX and 67 Omni in the course down to 28 mph and I weigh 190. Very stable platform to progress with. Your kids will have a blast!
  10. @scotchipman They are manufactured in China with 100% QC right here in Snoqualmie, WA.
  11. The Syndicate brand name is reserved only for our top end tournament-level products. I’ve used all the competitors ropes and generally speaking, they’re all pretty damn good. Here is what I can tell you about our rope: When we receive these ropes from the factory (yes, China), EVERY SINGLE ONE is unbound, placed on a tensioner and measured to AWSA specs before being re-packaged and shipped to dealers. At $65 we guarantee these ropes to be accurate! The rope is your link to the boat. If your rope has too much elasticity, you lose a ton of energy; not enough elasticity and your body pays a price. Our round weave also sheds water quickly and helps with reducing twist. But don’t take my word for it. Use the rope and tell us what you think!
  12. System 8 is from the 2005-2007 era. Same platform as the Monza which was the top ski in the line at the time. System 8 was built with PU core instead of PVC, which made it a more dampened feeling ski, better for less than perfect water conditions. Monza retailed at $900 and System 8 was $590.
  13. @Chef23 If it helps, I am 5'11, 195, 34mph and prefer the 68 over the 67 in the Pro. However with the Alpha, since it rides a little higher in the water the 67 is working well for me.
  14. @condorpilot Only the width changes with size. If you have a medium to narrow foot the 10/11 should be perfect. Our hole pattern should work on a Radar without issue.
  15. We definitely recommend using the Pivot washer @Zman is referring to in the photo above. The Pivot washer can certainly spread the load on the plate better than two small washers. Obviously I wasn't there, but my gut tells me the real reason the plate broke is because the laces were set too tight that the foot couldn't exit the boot.
  16. We designed the Hovercraft to be as easy to get up on as a Wakeboard...turns out it's probably easier. I've personally witnessed 6 complete first timers get up on their first or second tug. It's also a really fun ski for more experienced skiers to play around on. Have a look! At the 1:30 mark, you'll even see some raw footage of @MarcusBrown cruising some easy -28 passes.
  17. @jimmyjamesbrown Give our Customer Service Department a call at 1-800-938-4646. That's always the best way to reach us. Ask for Austin. I've already briefed him on this. We'll get you a new plate ASAP. For a plate to snap like that, it could be an indication that the laces were set too tight. Glad to see no mention of injury!! Be safe!!
  18. @SailorDave17 xMax is available in three different configurations: A. Direct Connect (for use with any HO/Syndicate ski 2015 or newer... there is no front or rear or right or left). B. Standard Plate Front - fits most manufacturers hole pattern C. Standard Plate Rear - fits most manufacturers hole pattern
  19. Looks like folks have already answered @SailorDave17 's questions. The only thing I would point out is that for 2019, based on feedback from the field, Carbon models all have the Syndicate adjustable fin.
  20. @Kelvin Totally hear you on that... We have lengthened the handle loop for the 2019 model year as we have had this same feedback a few times over the years. B)
  21. I suppose anything is possible, especially over time, but I don't recall any bonding issues in the 2016 models.
  22. @DangerBoy all good sir! no apology necessary! @BraceMaker that pretty much sums it up!
