  1. From what I remember the original Zero Off stayed between 34.0 when the skier loaded to 34.4 when the load was released. It was at 34.2 before the skier turned in for the gates and when the skier was at the buoys. Throttle response was quick. Zero Off now has much greater speed swings in an attempt to make it feel more like PP to appease all of the complainers. That's where the ABC-123 came in and they screwed it up for me. I never could understand why skiers would say the boat was hammering them when they were actually slowing the boat down while loading. The problem was that the pull was no longer mushy and it required more strength and control through and off the wakes. Get that right and you were wide, early, and slow.
  2. The .02 second slow one ball time can be corrected by having the boat speed +.2 to +.5 MPH when it approaches the course. At least that has been the solution in the past. It is now +.5 MPH in slalom mode and even more with the plus setting. I would think it would take less over speed at the gates with Zero Off trick mode because the engine would be responding stronger.
  3. What CParrish43 said! That’s what I felt with the original zero off and that’s what trick mode sounds like to me. When they added the ABC settings C felt the best but it was harder than the original for me. Then they added the 1,2,3 settings and it got even harder for me. This is not a knock on Zero Off because they were just trying to please the skiers. I only got to ski a short time with the original version in the fall but I remember thinking I would pick up 3 buoys by mid-season the next year. Then they added ABC/123 and I was down 3 buoys by mid-season instead.
  4. I'll gladly pay the extra 5 cents per pass:-)
  5. The boat in Nick’s video sounds a lot like what Zero Off slalom mode originally sounded like to me before people complained and they started trying to “calm it down” or whatever. I liked the original a lot but never liked it once they added the 1-2-3 settings. Never really could get the boat off me. Wouldn’t it be wild if it goes full circle and they add a ZOO (Zero Off Original) setting? They already have the software and programing. I'm convinced I would use it. Maybe now that most skiers technique has evolved to work with the current version of Zero Off some are ready to tame the ZOO “beast” and ride it to a PB.
  6. They should have left the sticker on ;-)

    T3

I've got about 6 sets on the T3 and so far and I would say it is by far the best ski I've ever been on, and I've been on almost everything out there. Coming off a T2. KLP did a remarkable job with this ski.
  8. Looks like you’ve been getting in too deep in some of your turns.
  9. Chuck Norris can tell how fast or slow the water is just by tasting it.
  10. 3 full years with Wally Skier buoys with no fading or flats. We leave them in year round.
  11. I would prefer to watch the pros up close on a 4 ball course than further away on a 6 ball course. Also, passes would be run at a slightly faster pace which would add to the entertainment factor for me. I could see where head to head competition would be easier for the public to understand who the winner is. Dual, parallel courses would be awesome but the possibility of very dissimilar conditions determining the outcome instead of the talent would rule that out if I were putting on a pro event.
  12. @adamhcaldwell Do you have any data on how much the flex of a carbon fiber ski changes with temperature changes. Maybe this is yet another variable. Skis have always felt stiffer in cold water to me. Thanks for all of your insight into this very complex topic.
  13. Where are the lakes located from town center?
  14. With regards to slalom course skiing, the difference is $150.00 and a much greater possibility of injury with the $50.00 rope/handle. $150.00 is cheap insurance from my point of view. The $50.00 items should be ok for low energy recreational skiing.
  15. Looks like Lyman is doing his part and then some to promote our sport. This plus the Malibu Cup in 2015! Roll Tide!
  16. Also, the lower RPM with PPass in colder water may be from the prop slipping less.
  17. For what it’s worth one of my ski buddies got a 66.5” Flex Tail and likes it. I tried it 3 long sets with tweaking and didn’t like it at all. Both of us are 34.2 MPH skiers. He’s at 163 pounds and I’m at 183 pounds. Both body weights are within the recommended weight range.
  18. I was told Boris has been out of the country for some time now and should be back in about 2 more weeks.
  19. @Connelly_Skis_Inc Any changes to the 2015 Carbon V other than apperance? Thanks
  20. @Connelly_Skis_Inc Is the depth listed correct? 2.429 is much shallower than I’ve ever seen listed on a ski. Maybe that’s a typo and should read 2.492? The length is very short also. Is that measurement with the jaws or tips? Thanks for any clarification you can give.
  21. I would be much more likely to go to Ham’s Nationals.
  22. When I watch Jeff ski, I am often astonished at how the boat keeps taking those hits.
  23. @gator1 Your original design worked just like you said for me. The entire ski would sink down the last quarter of the turn with no/very little overturn, if I was slow enough at that stage. If my speed was up through the turn it had no effect. Maybe the slots could be a little deeper so the effect would start at a higher speed. It may be like everything else with a fin. .010”in step depth could make a big difference. Not 100% sure I follow your .020X.020 channel location. Can you post a picture when you’re finished cutting it? Are you going to use a hacksaw blade to cut this channel?
