  1. I looked at the Worlds schedule of events on the IWWF website and it shows Men 7, Men 6, Men 5…Men 1. Is Men 1 the top seeds and Men 7 the bottom seeds?
  2. Sorry you took such a horrible crash. Hope you make a complete and speedy recovery.
  3. I found the wake on the 2004 ProStar to be large and hard, especially when teaching junior skiers. I would say a 196 SN, >2014 ProStar, or Ski Centurion would be your best options for 30MPH with Zero Off.
  4. 196 has better tracking so you should get a better pull.
  5. Maybe FlowMaster or Tech 2021 if it's a Cypress Gardens ski.
  6. The old saying “The straw that broke the camel’s back” might help some of you understand why Mark and others feel the way they do. It’s not just this latest mandate/change from USA-WSWS. I have to take a lot of training for an educational facility and a government agency. I’ll take this course although I’ve been “trained” from every conceivable angle imaginable. I’ll keep my head down, not make eye contact, and jump through the next hoop in front of me. I think some members will let their membership expire and mandating training for a newcomer to join will be a barrier for some also. I know it’s “Just an hour”, but for some newcomers, that will be a deal breaker. I can hear them now, “Hey, I just want to ski”. It’s not like it was easy to get someone to join before this mandate. I do completely understand the moral and legal reasons why USA-WSWS chose to implement this requirement, but I think there will be negative effects.
  7. Where’s @Horton? All I know is that he said, “When this thing reaches 88 MPH you’re going to see some serious shi#!” There was a bright flash as he went for 3 ball at 39 and no one has seen him since.
  8. The nicest couple I ever met in waterskiing was JR and Ann.
  9. Must be the toe hold foot.
  10. Well that’s a new angle on safety. Although in this case there’s no handle to worry about.
  11. So I’m reading here that @MarcusBrown is saying the skier has to learn to control the ski with their body and @adamhcaldwell is saying the skier has to learn to control their relationship to the boat with their body. I’d say you have to do both to ski your best. My question is which has to come first? Is it the chicken or the egg? Is there an answer? I will say this. If you took the 10 best and most knowledgeable minds in slalom skiing and gave them a year to come up with the most accurate skiing theory possible plus a comprehensive tutorial on how to implement this theory most intermediate skiers would still struggle to improve without guidance from someone that understands, cares, and has the ability to explain what you’re doing and how to correct where needed. Coaching slalom skiing is hard. Understanding slalom skiing is hard. Skiing is hard.
  12. A ski does act like a tuning fork when you bump them while holding them in one hand. In the course, the water and the pressure on the ski would dampen a huge portion of vibration from the waterline to the tail, especially when under load. I’ve ridden skis that would oscillate plus and minis 1” when riding flat in chop before turning in for the gates. I could feel it in my front toes but nothing from there to the back heel. I’m sure Regina’s whole ski got a few good cycles in during some of those 10.75 turns she scrambled through this past summer! She’s so good she just made sure the ski was back in phase when she loaded LOL.
  13. Set up 2 Sure-path’s in the boat LOL. They could have had 2 video cameras like an over/under shotgun all this time but nobody thought of it thank goodness. It would be some bad luck if someone missed a record because of a technical failure but from what I’m hearing on here sounds like that is very unlikely with Sure-path.
  14. Elvis has left the starting dock. “Well thankya, thankyaverymuch”
  15. What @twhisper said. You’re going to be starting from scratch so why would you start with less than the best grip for symmetrical leverage off the second wake. You’re not going to have the same physical attributes at 75 to overcome the disadvantage as you did at 35. I was 35 when I got my first coaching. They changed my grip to “right” and my buoy count/consistency both went up within 5 sets. Also stopped slamming on buoys 2,4,6 (Right Foot Forward).
  16. @swbca In your original commit you said your glasses were plain with a +2.0 for reading. You won’t be doing any reading while skiing. What is your distant vision? 20/20?
  17. @swbca I have no ties what so ever with FPM but I think you should invest in their program if you’re really serious about working your way back to the podium. https://www.flowpointmethod.com/the-program
  18. Size of ski, your height and weight, binding placement, fin settings, rope length, and boat speed. Also a picture of you straight behind the boat if possible.
  19. Driver, “Dang, when did Jeff Rogers develop a two ball like his one?
