  1. Thanks for all the feedback, I will add more video of earlier passes. He has run this pass twice only (34mph) . This clip was the first one.
  2. Trying to work out why he keeps getting stuck at 2 bouy, seems to me he is getting there fast and cant manage the speed. Thanks for any advicehttps://youtu.be/O-QtB9XB-4g
  3. Guess that explains why our online subscriptions to Australia just stopped 6 odd months ago and no email replies were forthcoming. A shame. It seems our Australian waterski mag has disappeared without trace too.
  4. Same, had a friend do his wife's car and his prostar. He loved them both but the car has lasted and the boat didnt.
  5. That video made a lot of sense to me, I was having too many hair on fire offside turns and went what i thought was "safer" with some more depth as well as slightly longer and less dft. Have had 6-7 sets since then and feeling and skiing better. Thanks for your explanation @Horton
  6. Local tournament about an hour out from Perth Western Australia Bit of wind about but the water stayed great.
  7. I switched from rtp to double boots shortly after getting back on the ski and being my back knee i found the back boot more supportive and less load/swelling from the knee as a result.
  8. I had ACL reconstruction at 37 years old, Pt very important, I used the stationary bike a lot and was back at work fairly quickly (one month) but i wished I had stretched and got a better range of motion earlier. Its still limited ten years later. I had a slalom at 3 months, but that didnt feel right and is a vulnerable time, at 4 months though with a Cti brace I was back on the ski and going to tournaments. Six months should be plenty of time. I also enjoyed the recovery period and have trained better/more consistently ever since.
  9. Webcast worked well over here in Australia. Good to see Nick Adams in the mix!
  10. Well said @Than_Bogan I have just ordered a c65 and am buying it not to expect another few buoys but supporting the brand and hoping for increased consistency. My one year old Denali is a great ski and although the new one should be better it comes down to the skier standing on top to really make the difference.
  11. About 2006 i was using a Concept and could not run the 28 off pass. The shop gave me a D3 Nomad to try, ran the 28 back to back as soon as i got on it. That was my last ride on the Concept.
  12. @sunvalleylaw hope this one works. Our 4 year old on a cold winters day at Bonneys Western Australia
  13. Buddy, about to hop in, 80 years old, still skis into 32 and my favourite coach in the boat, not the most patient coach but he gets results and notices things and implements change that others don't see. A little cold in our Aussie winter for him but always there to drive and coach.
  14. About three years ago I had a hypnotherapy session done, my goal was a State title and I wanted help with nerves before a tournament and increased confidence. It produced the best season ever for me and three years later it's still helping.
  15. Update. Bongo international taken over by FedEx, now called FedEx cross border.
  16. I've shipped from the U.S. using Bongo shipping. (The name may have changed) They give you a U.S. Address to ship to and they send it on from there. I've only shipped bindings but I'd guess you would be up for around $200 Aud. they were good to deal with.
  17. One week ago I got off the Denali frustrated and rode my Helix again, I was in a slump. I could turn the Helix a lot better but wasn't getting the speed. I knew I couldn't walk away from the the Denali though as I got one to not only try and ski better but also learn about skis and fins. Pleased to report that a week later and after some big changes to ski setup(and understanding ski setup) I feel more confident than ever and the last two days have been awesome. The fin forward settings really get the ski to fire, before it was about the same as my last ski score wise, now it's rising above. Can't wait for our Aussie summer.
  18. I've been through Rs1's Strada x 2 and now Profiles and I only ever wear the liners out. And they get used year round. I rode the 16 Vapor this week and I was very impressed, not that I wanted to like another ski but on stock settings and my bindings I was shocked at how good it was from the first pass. Biggest problem was reassuring the wife that no I really don't want another ski!
  19. I went from a Connelly Concept (94) to a 67"D3 Nomad and went from being stuck at 2-3@28 off to running it back to back on the first set on the Nomad. I am about 200lb as well, my next ski was a 68 Nomad rcx and then a used 67" X7. I felt the same as you on other brands, could turn them but not accelerate through the wakes. I have skied on Quests, Fusion, both Helixs and the Arc. I think you should try a newer D3 as well as they just seem so user friendly straight up. I think my favourite was probably the X7 but the new Arc certainly felt very good. There are a lot of D3's around here and they have a reputation for skiing well straight up, other brands obviously ski well too but seem to take longer to adapt too and more setting up. That's my two bobs worth. Good luck You asked whether the Quest was more a 36 ski than say an X7. I don't think any were designed to be a slower speed ski than another. I think @skibrain would confirm that.
