  1. I am heading up to Idaho for a spell and looking for a good rec ski. I am not taking my prophecy and want something I can ski on but that would also accommodate my brother and a couple of friends. I was thinking an HO A3? Radar Senate? Am I heading in the right direction? TIA
  2. I can see if you have a 24-30ft whaling boat, I mean wakeboard boat but anything under 24 I have to agree with oldjeep
  3. I found the big sticker, it was a whopping $75.00 +++ shipping lol. Any more help appreciated!
  4. On my bucket list of older boats I would like to play with. Its in decent shape but looking to spruce it up a bit. Any idea where I could look for some graphics, specifically the dash and rear deck stickers? I know its a stretch but hoping someone might have some ideas. I have found a few things on ebay but not the two stickers I am wanting. TIA!!!
  5. Thanks Jody, I did in fact order it from them, I was confused looking at the part but they assured me it would work. Thank you for the response!
  6. As a point of reference, I regularly buy old police cruisers, (Crown Victoria Police Interceptors) and they typically have 16-2500 idle hours and that is considered low. Most of them have 4000-6500, and 100-120K miles, now granted these are IDLE hours but it still gives you a sense of confidence about the reliability of a modern V8. I saw one older Crown Vic with 315k on the original motor. Its a matter of educating the buyer. I will also say I have bought 2 very low hour boats and both wound up being problematic. GLWS
  7. @DW, even with a dry suit that is probably not possible. I believe the boat is sold though. It was a good enough deal and I have enough history with Malibus to buy it without a check ride. But, for me, it was too far to go, deal with logistics to make it work for me and my sister isnt super motivated. It was cheap enough I may have had a nice boat for the summer and made a few bucks. Oh well
  8. So I spoke to the factory rep and he said there were very minor changes in the hull and that statistically they were identical and that only an advanced skier would be likely to notice.
  9. Haha, I wondered, When I was looking at your emoticon thought is was purple and if it was in fact of Univ. of Wash. or Wisconsin.
  10. @UWSkier thank you, appreciate the insight. I would like the room and the improved bow performance. She is is on a river and needs neither. She is a diehard slalom skier and wake quality is crucial. Btw just came back from watching sdsu send UW packing from NIT tourney. Sorry
  11. Its a sweet boat, she already has a pretty sweet 05 LXI, but the newer one has half the hours and if there is hull "improvement" we will take any excuse to bolster a purchase decision.
  12. Found a decent deal on an 07 Response and wondered if there were any significant, or really any changes to the hull between these years? I think they both the SV23 diamond correct? Wondering if there is any excuse to move up a couple years? Actually for my sister. TIA
  13. I think I mentioned that I have a 14' Ram 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi and it tows that little boat with authority, just the way I like it. I dont blame my buddy for wanting the same feeling. He has pulled the boat with my truck and my guess is that he feels less secure pulling it with the Acura after pulling it with my truck. Its pretty night and day. As most of you know, most trucks actually ride BETTER under load and my Ram is no exception. It is quiet, smooth, predictable etc.... I appreciate all the feedback. I wont be towing it with a Tiguan, but I can see an X5 in his future.
  14. He wants something upscale. Talked a little about an X5. Budget is 40k. Probably try to find a 2-3yr old rig with 25K miles. I love the land cruiser but yeah they are few and far between and almost impossible to get a deal on. Infinti is a good recommedation, I will look into that. I like the Cherokee, I have a 14' Ram and still very impressed with that but probably not the right logo on the hood. Thanks for the input so far.
  15. My partner has an Acura MDX that is able to pull the boat (2004 Malibu Respnse LXI) but we go out to the Colorado river which requires going up and down a couple of long grades and the motor spins like a hamster wheel on crack. I offer to let him take my truck but he doesnt like the borrowing routine. I think he is going to trade a lot of everyday comfort but he wants to get something a little more capable of towing the boat the 3-4x a year he tows it out to the river. Half of those trips the boat is behind my truck anyway. BUT that said, what can you buy that is still a pretty comfortable sport ute but that would tow the boat a little more competently? We talked about a Lexus GX470 or maybe a MBZ GL450, what do you guys think?
  16. Thanks @oldjeep I am usually pretty good at hunting stuff down but couldnt find anything yesterday, much appreciated!!!!
  17. OK, new to me, it has a ZF Hurth Marine transmission, and we need a seal kit for a model ZF45CW part # 3311000002
  18. Pulled it out today, front seal is leaking. Can anyone give me a link to the shop @Jody_Seal works at for a parts connection? Thanks!!
  19. @Rivvy yep, with the open bow you have to be attentive to taking water over the bow. I doubt it happens much in calm water but even crossing your own wake to pick up a skier requires some strategic throttle input to keep the bow up.
  20. @gt2003 lxi 340 Monsoon I have weighed as much as 210lb and the boat pulls me out effortlessly. I cant see any reason for more power. The boat is in excellent shape, however we had our first issue with it this weekend, looks like the transmission seal(s) may have failed. It did not strand us but probably going to be few hundred to pull it out and correct it. That and we have the servo controlled PP that we cant seem to dial in. Otherwise we love it.
  21. That is what I ski behind, great boat and pretty good price.
