  1. I do this all the time. They dont know what they want and they want you to waste your precious time and energy for them to be even MORE undecided after a SINGLE pull behind an UNFAMILIAR boat. Unless you are hard up, wait until someone who has a better understanding of what they want, what you have and can meet at some fiscal agreement AND THEN let them do a check ride. When people ask if they can test ride my bikes, I say sure, you buy it, you go ride it for twenty minutes, you dont like it, bring it back unscathed and I will hand you your money back. Most dont even bother, my stuff is high and tight, just forewarning you, lots of flakey, indecisive people who wont think twice about wasting your time and money.
  2. If its a Las Vegas stripper in stilettos she is mine
  3. I am going Tues, but we are off of are weekly outings for the cooler months.
  4. My post was meant to consider taking a different approach with him. I am completely sympathetic to your plight, and I wish you the very best. I am just saying you know he is a crotchety old bagger up for a good slagging off??? Is that how you would say it? I would just consider some alternative techniques. Old rich dudes are peculiar and you never know what might work......
  5. @hipsup As a business owner, I think you may be overlooking or oversimplifying Bill's position. I dont know how long he has owned or operated the club but it sounds like at minimum, five years and maybe much much longer. Things happen in business just like things happen in family life. Feelings get hurt, lines get crossed, money comes and goes and not always in the right way. People dont pay their bills, people are disrespectful of other peoples property and often, possible without even knowing it, can step on toes. If the club is operating at a loss month after month, why should he keep it open? If he cant make the numbers work, what makes you think you can? If he can afford to shutter the place and wait out a better income opportunity, he may not need the money and if he put his heart into it and over the years felt unappreciated or slighted by those who benefitted from his efforts, he may be doing it to payback those he felt slighted by. Of course I am just speculating, I have NO IDEA, but I know from my own experience that the above issues can and do happen and may give you some insight on taking a different approach to Bill. Instead of a poll to chastise him for closing the place, why not a huge thank you for what he has done and a pledge from the community to help him in the future? Just a thought.
  6. @skibug, I am still struggling a bit with my prophesy. I think I am having a tough time adjusting to the stiffer boots of the talons v. the stokers on the 2011 prophesy. As far as the season ending, I am looking for other activities to help me improve my cardio and improve my health for the next high season, although I think we will continue to ski for another month.
  7. We all got a run in and then were overtaken by a HEAVY fog bank that cut our visibility enough to end our skiing. It was creepy it was weird, but we still had fun. Try again Fri.
  8. I free ski at 31 but slowing to 28 until I am clearing the course at that speed. When I free ski it is very apparent that I do not ski anywhere near hard enough to clear buoys.
  9. Looks cool, just wonder how long the thrill would last. Also, I can see someone nose diving into a pwc or worse someone losing control and the jet pinning them under the water..... I just get the feeling its not that safe, but I could be wrong.
  10. Hmm, sorry, I thought they were 50 on the low side but I think I am thinking txi and even a few basic options would bring it to mid 40's but still lower than what I had previously thought. Still if its a low hour boat, thats a good price.
  11. I dont know if this will load but there is a good explanation on the effects of the fin in this pdf scroll down to fin adjustment
  12. We just started using it this morning and we all noticed less slack in the line, so far we are giving it the thumbs up.
  13. I did tweak it and actually moved it back a tad and took some depth out of it. Physically I Am shot and only took two runs. I feel a lot better about it today and realize I just need to work on it a bit. I can tell the ski indeed has a bigger flat spot and feels more stable than the 2011. We are pulling permits to ski the course next week so I will see how it handles in the course. I ski a lot more aggressively in the buoys.
  14. @Jodyseal is that a Stevens? I had a 76' Sanger Family Skier a few years back.
  15. I have an awesome coffee maker too. But I leave the details to the real pros.......errr geeks. Wait, isnt that exactly what I am doing on BOS?????
  16. Here is my fin, as you can see its not quite level, its a little lower at the back end of the ski by a few hairs.
  17. Yes it is a 68" I am measuring 29 3/16 from the back of the front binding plate to the back of the ski, is that where I am supposed to be measuring? And for the fin, do I need to get a caliper device to measure or??? I am happy to go buy the right tool/device. And thanks for the help!! Really appreciate it.
  18. The bindings are in the middle hole (#2 of three on the rear boot, #3 of 5 on the front boot) is that the standard or a recommended placement? Should that be moved at all?
  19. 200lbs 28 @15 off, hacker, I free ski at 31. I actually like to ski at 31 maybe even a little faster but I can make the buoys at 31. I think I mistakenly left the foil on and it was a bit of a let down from the fast and intuitive feel of the 2011 that did not have a foil. My second ride without the foil was much better. I think the consensus is to ditch it until I am a much more advanced skier. And thanks for the comment about Hortons review, I will revisit and take notes.
