  1. @lpskier did you ever settle in on some settings that worked, I am trying to dial in a friends 68.5 Mapple 6.0 myself.
  2. @webbdawg99 What kind of bindings and where on ski? Thx.
  3. In 1995 I placed first at the Michigan State Championships, placed first at Midwest Regionals(tied existing record for my age group) and placed 18th at the Nationals all PB's. I was on a KD7000 at the time. Thanks Denny!!!!!!
  4. I understand that Nate tied the record with Jeff Gilbert at the helm of a Ski Nautique 200 open bow. I wonder if that boat will be for sale any time soon? Anybody have any info on it?
  5. In 1995 I posted PB's at the States, Regionals and Nationals. In May of that year (prior to those pb's) I spent a week skiing with Andy, believe me it was no coincidence that I did so well. @Mapple, Andy is simply the best at what he does.
  6. Nate Smith by definition could be considered to be a water skiing "Prodigy". Anyone that knows Nate understands that he is truly an ambassador for this sport.
  7. @Razorskier1 Thanks, you ski in MN I ski in MI.........so far has been a very cold spring, your settings would be very interesting for cold water.
  8. @Razorskier1. will you post your fin and binding settings for the 68" plz. thx
  9. @Ed_Johnson. So Ed on the 68" Mapple your front binding is at 30 3/16th ? What about the rear binding? Thx.
  10. If the judges had scored the gates good then the video had to show indisputable evidence that he did actually miss the gates. I would really like to see that video.
  11. @Horton so are you going to continue using this side enhancer on all of the skis that you test? $289 is a fairly steep price to pay for this new technology. Was the angle out of the bouy a fairly dramatic change?
  12. @Drago Drago the article(April 2013 Waterski pages 52/53) by Nick Parsons is an excellent explanation, looking at the pictures you see that the left elbow stays pinned to his vest throughout the edge change going from straight in the pull to bent at the completion of the edge change....upper body remains still. @Ed_johnson Yes many skiers, myself included, actually do pull up on the handle(the hitch) to force the edge change rather than let it naturally occur. I think what Andy and Chris do(and many other elite skiers) at the edge change is key to running shortline slalom.
  13. @Ham Wallace Hey Ham, try taking out a little length 6.850 maybe or move your front binding back a little, which ever is easier for you. See if that is better. If it gets better repeat the process until it isn't then add back .001 at a time until optimized.
  14. @Drago It appears like they are using maybe back arm pressure on the handle to advance the ski in front of them and onto the inside edge. From the looks of your picture you have this down. How would you explain it to a person trying to imitate it at the shorter line lengths?
  15. @Horton, great video I noticed that both Andy and Chris execute what I call "the move" coming into the wakes on both sides of the course. The ski seems to jet out in from of them from leaning edge to turning edge very quickly (the edge change) and their arms go from straight out to bent at the inside elbow and close to the vest into the preturn prior to the extension of the handle arm. Most,if not all of the elite skiers have this move down. Some people call it the hitch. My question is how do you practice this move? What are they actually doing to execute this move? Does that make sense to you?

    U S Gear

@Horton Just spoke with Randy, he said that he is still making handles and will be sending some orders out this weekend. He is having problems with his domain server and hopes to have that fixed shortly.

    U S Gear

@Chuck_Dickey called..... no answer..... left message. Do you have a good email address?
  19. @horton Just wondering if U S Gear is still operational. I tried to access their website today and I could not get in.
  20. Does this mean that if you install a rocker block on any ski you can increase the amount of rocker at the tail, last eight inches or is this new technology only specific to D3 waterskis????
  21. I tried a 67" Fusion at the tail end of the summer a fellow skier in my area had one for sale. I loved the way it turned and held angle through the wakes but at 220lbs. I was too heavy for the ski. @skidawg I think you were riding a D3 Fusion. Did you ever try the X7 and if so what influenced your decision to go with the Fusion?
  22. @ski4xtc just ordered a gray beanie through paypal thx
  23. @ski4xtc do you have any beanies left? In your opinion what is the most visible color? thx
  24. @SkiJay Yes , absolutely, I am skiing narrow can't seem to get to bouy wide and early, thinking I had too much tip. I will try these settings and let you know. Does not look good today 20-30 mph winds, maybe just before sunset...hopefully the wind will subside a little. Thanks.
