  1. Nice write up! So is anybody out there using the G5 and what are your impressions?
  2. @skidawg So how many 39 1/2's have you run on your new Vapor?
  3. @Horton Do you ski on the ski that you are evaluating exclusively or do you evaluate other skis during the same time frame as well?
  4. @Horton What do you think are the average amount of days that you spend on a ski dialing it in and evaluating it for your review?
  5. @klindy Thanks Keith. I understand he also used Wiley bindings, been using them for over twenty years, rock solid performance!!!
  6. Anybody know what ski Jeff Rodgers was on?
  7. @klindy lost the cup but still track water temp. water temp here is 60F forcast low of 37F tonight......why do I still live here? need to take a road trip to lil mountain!!!!
  8. whenever I change the settings on a fin I can guarantee that it will be better..........or worse.
  9. Chris, sometimes you watch a skier do really great on the same brand of ski but a different length. So can you figure out mathematically how to transfer the working settings, say from a 65.5 inch ski to a 68.5 inch ski, fin settings and binding location? Kinda like 28.5 is to 65.5 as X is to 68.5 for binding location and similar calculations for your fin settings, dft, depth and length. So if you calculate the dft for the 68.5 based on binding location calculation anf dft from the 65.5 then just leave the depth and length the same as the 65.5 does that sound reasonable? How do YOU do it?
  10. @chrisrossi. I have read articles that tell you to decrease length when you move the fin forward and conversely increase length when you move the fin back. Could you expound on this topic and maybe explain the reasoning behind this, also, which is faster cross course a deep fin or a shallow fin, assuming no wing? Thanks Chris.
  11. Actually I used the Slalom Pro V OCS Radius Handle from U S Gear with the .940" X 1.060" elliptical grip. This handle really relieves a lot of the pressure from your flexors and extensors while waterskiing.......very noticeable.
  12. @skidawg I have been a Correct Craft disciple since the mid 60's, Skylark,Skitique, Ski Nautique. I will say however, the only other boat, in my opinion, that even compared for slalom skiability was the Ski Centurion. I never drove one though... how do you think it tracks in the course and are the wakes still flat and soft in the latest version??
  13. Remember @skidawg try some get ups on a set of jumpers much easier on your achilles!!
  14. Last Christmas I ordered a Slalom Pro V OCS Radius handle with an Elliptical grip. Randy had just injured his hand and yes it did take a while to receive the handle but the wait was well worth it. I have used it all season and it is by far the best handle that I have ever used. Outstanding grip characteristics and no forearm fatigue or soreness(tennis elbow) issues that I have experienced in the past with other handles. I love this handle and I hope that Randy can continue to stay in business. I guess the bottom line here is that if you want a custom built handle from Randy you might have to wait awhile.
  15. Wow! What a day at Little mountain! Neilly Ross sets the tone with a pending Canadian Record for Girls 2, Cale Burdick(MI skier) runs a pb 4@41, Nate 4 @ 41, CP 3 1/2 @ 41 and Jeff Rodgers runs 4@ 41 on a new ski(Mapple 6.0) and there were numerous other fine performances despite a steady rain most of the day. In the end over $4000 in cash and sponsor product prizes were handed out and a good time was had by all. Jeff Rodgers received a special recognition for breaking the 34mph world record in a previous tournament held at the Little Mountain site.
  16. @OB what @JohnCox said, Pros and Amatuers will be paired together to form teams that will be eligible to win awards and prizes.
  17. I understand that an outstanding array of skiers will be chasing several records at the Little Mountain Pro AM this weekend. I hear that it will be a true Pro AM format with lots of storylines .
  18. @JohnCox what size 6.1?
  19. @ToddF my friend has stargazer no zbox on a 98 nautique 196 and it also will surge from time to time for no reason. please explain what you mean by " inverted it" I am not stargazer literate at all...thanks.
  20. @Than_Bogan thanks for the info. I have noticed on other skis that the fin depth varies sometimes as much as 10 thousandths from side to side. I usually stand the ski vertically on the nose and then measure the DFT...Andy Mapple method ,holding the caliper upright against the bottom of the ski caliper head resting on the back of the fin(video on youtube) Have you ever used Wiley bindings and if so how did they compare to the T-factors...was it easy to transition over to the T-factors??
  21. @Than_Bogan .....What size Nano 1,what kind of bindings and do you have the actual fin measurements? Thanks....great skiing!!!!
