  1. Loved that ski. I learned to run the course on a HO Extreme with a Schnitz Ultra Mini fin and wing circa 1988. I ran 32 off for the first time on that ski. Should've never sold it...........sigh!
  2. Starrett sells a 9 inch dial caliper and a 9 inch digital caliper.
  3. @6balls many years ago I purchased a ski thru Steve Schnitzer and he sent me a 8 inch digital caliper as part of a promo he had going. This caliper has always worked very well for me. I think it is a Neiko but not sure since there are no markings either on the case or the caliper, only "made in China". I would suggest that you buy a 9 or 10 inch caliper. You can then measure the "total distance from the tail"(distance from the leading edge of the fin to the rear of the ski). I use this measurement to more accurately move the fin fore and aft without changing anything else. The 8 inch caliper is not long enough for this measurement most of the time.
  4. Need money to participate will never make much money participating.
  5. ARTICLE I - NAME The name of the organization shall be “AMERICAN WATER SKI ASSOCIATION,” the abbreviation of which shall be “AWSA”. This organization is a sport discipline of “USA WATER SKI, INC”, the abbreviation of which is “USAWS”. USA-WS is the national governing body of water skiing in the United States. ARTICLE II - PURPOSES The purpose of this organization shall be to organize, promote, and govern traditional/3-event water skiing in the United States and to help organize and promote same throughout the world as a Sport Discipline of USA-WS.
  6. @skidawg wow, I better cancel my AARP membership AWSA might have a problem with that.
  7. @SkiJay Do you know if you can purchase the new Pro Build fin block and fin from any retail stores yet?
  8. @FWinter I can't believe that the AWSA didn't approve that record run. What a shame that politics and petty jealousies would rob her of a legitimate record performance. Not to worry though, I believe that she will perform at an even higher level in the near future.
  9. @John Brooks that was the boat path video that was approved for Manons record setting run correct? She is a great skier that put it all together at Little Mountain and then three more times, at different sites, after that!!
  10. @skidawg in biblical times we had the governing body "Sanhedrin" and then we had the "Pharisees"self righteous members or hypocrites and well then, we all know what happened to Jesus....don't we.
  11. "Click here for a full score recap of the Elite head to head finals. " from intro above...nothing to click on though....
  12. @jimbrake maybe try pushing it forward a little also
  13. cooler water equals higher viscosity, deeper fin is affected more than a shallower fin. ski feels way faster but actually might be slower side to side forcing you to ski narrower and turn more down course.......just a thought.
  14. In 1985 when I started the sport I used Wileys and 31 years later after some experimentation with other binding systems I still use Wileys....... and yes @wtrskior you can get them customized, fairly inexpensively, to suit your skiing ability.IMO, I think stock Wileys would be just fine.
  15. @Horton Is the Nano 1 XT an asymmetrical ski? What were your settings when you ran a tournament pb? thx
  16. I think you guys @SkiJay and @Horton should get your hands on a 2017 lithium Senate and give us some feedback.
  17. If you have been exposed to poison ivy or poison oak your gloves might be contaminated in that area. It happens..... clean the inside of your glove.
  18. The 2016 lithium senate had a fully adjustable fin and fin block similar to the 2016 vapor.
  19. @eddie_roberts_jr So the 2017 Senate won't be wider like the 2016.
  20. Currently on a 2016 71" Senate Lithium. Love this ski, very fast side to side and it turns extremely well. I will admit that I too was disappointed that it was made in China and I did tweak the ski a little, added relief holes(are already there on the Vapor series) in the ski for the depth and length screws on the fin box and the wing assembly on my particular ski was not symmetrical so I replaced it. Very easy ski to ride, no surprises.
  21. Question. Where is the 2017 Senate series manufactured? And will the insert pattern be changed to the Vapor pattern so you can get your bindings mounted on the ski without having to modify them.
  22. @Chuck_Dickey actually looks a lot like the fin box on the Mapple.
  23. @ozski great idea. I was actually thinking of a way to make the the front a little more snug. Gonna give it a try.
  24. @Than_Bogan found a large HO boot with laces on a pivot plate. Removed the top lace and tightened the bottom lace really tight across the front of my rear foot. My heal moves freely up and down but I feel locked in with laces tight across front of rear foot. Literally no break in required. I call it my training wheels for a rear toe piece.
