  1. If your stuff is drying out your not skiing often enough! Rinse out in tap water will help prevent the funk.
  2. Dude, you really need a wonder pump.
  3. John, I'm probably in the minority these days but for me I do nearly all my skiing behind 3 different pp boats. Once in a while I get a set or 2 behind zo and I lose at least half a pass even after playing around with different settings. I also haven't skiied a tourney in several years. I'm sure if one of the regular boats was zo it may get better for me but for now i'm quite happy with pp.
  4. 2004 RLXI with perfect pass, no interest in zo, ever.
  5. I assume you are talking about your boat? For me it always depends on how bad they are, the whit portions of my hull 3m cleaner wax always works, the black accents usually require harsher products. I usually start with polishing compound but the back of the boat ends up needing rubbing compound.
  6. Obrien elite, hard to describe, the offside had this really evil snap-turn that could be hard to hang on to, once i got use to it it ripped though.
  7. So yesterday's rains flooded a whole bunch of homes that have never been flooded....ever. Our north course is underwater. Fun stuff.
  8. Upstate New York, started 4 or 5 weeks late with crazy low water, weather has sucked, wind, rain, cold air, cold water. Now water is actually pushing too high. I can't get a handle on my new stick, do I still just suck or have the conditions really held me back?
  9. Not always, doesn't really bother me while skiing though.
  10. I used classics for a long time, a few seasons back bought a new pair and they seemed to have changed a bit. They didn't fit worth a darn and i destroyed them within 50 sets, went to the k-palms and have been pretty happy.
  11. Exact same thing in upstate NY, 1 week in the bag and went to a shorty this weekend. Water probably high 50's, I swear my spray burn may start bleeding.
  12. I'm an auto tech, the wife is self employed, owns a small machine shop.
  13. Our pond is regulated by lake ontario, um....yeah. We pulled boats quite a few weeks early last fall and had trouble doing it. It's come up some but still pretty low. Here's hoping.
  14. the soap in our boat is a small amount of dish soap with water in a small spray bottle, seems to work really well and rinses out easily
  15. It was a number of years ago but there were 2 courses near the norris lake dam, if you left the dam and headed for cove creek you would find them. Its a huge lake so i really recommend keeping a map or gps at all times.
  16. This goes back quite a few years but the wife and I spent a week in a cottage on Norris lake. Really pretty area. At the time there were 2 courses in coves near the dam. It does get pretty busy but lots of coves to check out. Not sure if the laws have changed but at the time a mirror was all you needed for skiing.
  17. Larger handle diameter helped me a few years ago, and really focus on not taking slack hits,
  18. My malibu pulled this trick on me once, turned out there was a square key where the steering arm attatched to the rudder shaft, it had worked its way out. I got lucky and found the key way back under the gas tank and put it back in, use to check the pinch bolt a couple times a season from then on.
  19. Certain people shouldn't have access to tools.
  20. No joke at all, there have been a handful of fatalities over the years that way and a lot more really serious arm injuries too.
  21. When I brought home my new to me rlxi the platform was absolutely grey. I got it cleaned quite well wityh starbrite's 2 part kit, then a buddy of mine coated it with Cetol marine sealer when he did his platform. 3 seasons later it still looks awesome, haven't touched it since.
  22. always wondered how much trouble a guy could get into with a tow rope and a snowmobile? probably need a waiver of some sort.
  23. do those conditions require a fin adjustment? look on the bright side, upstate ny our pond will be frozen for another month.
  24. I haven't skiied behind too many boats but I would vote sportster, just stay away from bigger water, reaaly rough ride.
