  1. if the pcm really thinks air temp is 40 below its going to run crazy rich, which might have flooded it and fouled the plugs.
  2. 35 off is definitely my personal wall, I've owned 32 off for a really long time, and I first ran 35 about 4 years ago but until last year it was once or twice a year. Last year I started running lots of full passes at 35 but no idea why. The gate is super critical and I also agree with the line of sight theory, it's really hard to turn the buoy when my eyeballs are inside the buoy line, also makes it feel like a bigger turn to me and harder to hold my form as a result?
  3. does it have a seaweed separater? if that isnt sealed it will suck air.

    carb adjust

I haven't dealt with a carburetor in a really long time but it sounds like it's running too rich at idle, the idle mixture screws are different from idle speed adjustment, any chance service manual available?
  5. My wife forbade me from going out on the dock, something about not coming in after me if i slipped.
  6. Last monday morning my malibu looked exactly the same as the frozen mastercraft, along with several inches of snow on the dock........sigh
  7. and as a matter of fact i got my first ski boat because of a boat show, i was sitting in a 98 malibu sportster that i couldn't afford and the dealer says he'll make me a smoking deal on a leftover tantrum, and for some reason the wife let me do it, that was a great little boat.
  8. the prostar is my dream next boat, i was pretty stoked to go through it as I've never seen one in person, going to be a few more years though.
  9. this past weekend the show in rochester ny had a prostar, i think its been 10 years since i saw a ski boat there,
  10. i hadn't had a pb in probably 3 or 4 years, during those years i ran 35 probably once or twice each season, this past year out of the blue i ran 35 most every set, my new pb is 4 at 38, it was fun every set.....period.
  11. i,m in upstate ny btw, last spring the ice went out really late, like mid april and the ski resorts had snow really late
  12. last spring one of my ski buddy's went snow skiing in the morning, played beach volleyball mid day, then helped me install a course and we skied in the afternoon,
  13. I've come to believe that if you stay in wet neoprene you're going to get cold no matter what, a second dry top well worth it.
  14. i would guess it should have a vent, if its building pressure internally the vent may be plugged which might cause fluid leaks when hot, worth a look.
  15. I've been doing this trick just this year to try to keep hard water spots off my boat, 50/50 plain white vinegar and spray wax, i've got a wide black stripe down the hull and waves would spray it whenever the wind comes up, this has worked really well for me just doing once a week, might help with yellowing? really cheap and simple to try.
  16. It just dawned on me last week that i'm past a year on a pair of the new style masterline k-palms, i usually use at least 2 pairs of any glove per season so this is pretty good wear. The only thing was when they were brand new i had to ski without liners for the first week or so, once they stretched a bit they were perfect.
  17. This is really old info and a bit of a hike from where you're staying but there used to be two courses near the norris dam,
  18. If your in a serious pinch i've seen it at home depot.......in very small and very expensive packaging, if your doing an entire setup it would be ridiculous
  19. That sounds a lot like our set up, we've always used the square chimney block style cinder blocks. They seem to hold, but usually 2 guys on a swim platform can get it off the bottom if needed, and if really stuck just cut the line and get another one.
  20. 3/16 stainless cable connectors and a short section of 3/16 stainless cable from home stores will work in a pinch
  21. My masterline gloves and handle are close to the top, a well fitted pullover vest is also close, but absolute best is a long sleeve neo top, upstate ny the evenings are very often just a bit chilly for bare skin.
  22. A ski partner of mine has that boat, i feel like it ski's almost as well as my rlxi, I've heard several times over the years that it has the same wetted surface as an rlxi, the interior layout is great. Fuel injection and a few more horse power may be nice but I think if a low fuel load and just a few skiers it should do fine.
