  1. Evidently we're having an ice storm tomorrow in western new york. I'm starting to get really grouchy.
  2. I might recommend you find another local mechanic to clean the threads then install the hitch, I would guesstimate an hour labor unless the bumper cover has to come off.
  3. Sometimes when they say "totaled" they really mean it,
  4. Our 9 pound minpin once ate an entire leather bet, yeah the tailpipe issues are no fun but it's better than surgery, our vet was quite worried.
  5. you might be a redneck if there's a shotgun in your ski rack!!
  6. A buddy of mine used to pull an 04 sunsetter with a straight six manual wrangler, had enough power but the wheelbase made it a little iffy. It always looked funny from behind him: "what is that boat pushing down the highway??"
  7. I bought a used hewitt out of Michigan years back, it broke down to just the square aluminum frame pieces and fit in the bed of a full size pick up. I'm not sure how many hoist's will do that but makes transit a whole bunch easier.
  8. I swear I saw a "coming soon" ad in waterskier magazine just a few months back???
  9. Still snowing in western N.Y. Ice is out but water can't be even 40 yet, grrrr.
  10. This is a bit of a guess but doesn't the pp servo auto tighten at key on every time? Maybe just needs a little more return spring on the throttle?
  11. The new format was different for sure but I still liked it, going to miss it.
  12. rubber gloves inside your ski gloves helps a little, or keep a small cooler in the boat full of hot water, half way through your set dunk your hands. Cold water scuba gloves work great for warmth but are pretty useless for grip.
  13. There is a group of guys near me that surf lake ontaio in the winter....no, just no.
  14. What's the deal with the 101st dentist anyway??
  15. I would tend to agree with @skierjp, lots of stuff can go wrong, especially the mainline which is around $300 for poly i think? Stainless is $500? Well worth it imho.
  16. I wouldn't have asked any questions beyond my security clearance,
  17. A few years back here in western New York a buddy of mine pulled off a trifecta, it was probably mid april, he snow skied in the morning, played beach volleyball mid day and waterskied in the afternoon. That's pretty rare though, ice had gone out pretty early but still a good snow pack at the mountain.
  18. My last set was nov 1st, air was 45, water was 45, and it was raining, my wife said something about you guys are crazy.
  19. I love my stokes, can't really speak to rib protection, floats me higher than my previous vest, doesn't seem to have stretched at all after 1 season, definitely holds way less water.
  20. Masterline makes a 1.183 handle, I switch between a curved and straight handle. But seriously the biggest thing.....Don't Take Slack Hits.....
  21. My tantrum had no mufflers, I don't know if the sportsters did or not but mine was loudish, I didn't mind.
  22. My first ski boat was a tantrum, very bare bones but skied quite well, great on gas, absolutely useless windscreen and pretty useless in bigger water.
  23. The first of our crew's boat's went on the trailer last night.....Boo hiss.
  24. We've had quite a run the last 6 or so weeks in western NY, a few weeks back the water was almost 80, it's coming to an end though. Last night water was around 60, the longterm has several overnights in the 40's. Sigh
