  1. This just off Mapple Skis Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/mappleskis/posts/553071701513535?fref=nf Hey Team Mapple have you all heard the news? Andy's best ever and last creation will be manufactured by Radar just like all Andy's previous designs BUT NOW Square One parent company of Radar will be actually selling the ski!!! MappleSkis is no more I'm heart broken to announce ....but I'm so very happy & excited that the hard work that Andy and the rest of Team Mapple put in will be available for purchase beginning at the 2015 Worlds in Mexico in less than a month!!! With our son, Michael Mapple at the helm of the Nautique 200 and Andy, Kris LaPoint, Jeff Rogers, & Tom Brantley testing the skis I also was able to test one of the first skis ever produced from the new mold! And I LOVED it, as did all the boys! I'm sure you will LOVE it too! Could I ask you a favor? Would you PLEASE go to MappleSports and LIKE our FB page. I, Deena, would like to keep you up to date on our latest announcements with the lake etc. hopefully coming soon. ***THIS actual FB page will most likely be used by Square One/Radar beginning soon.
  2. Going with my bud TFin. He's getting close. Seen him ski here at out site and except for a slip of the handle at ball 5 at 39 he would have easily been challenging his Canadian record
  3. StarGazer w/ ZBox is a nice upgrade but is still not the same as ZO. My previous boat was q 196LE and it was going to cost roughly the same $5500 +/- to go from SG ZBox to ZO. I put the $5500 into the purchase cost of upgrading to a newer boat already equipped with ZO. Sold my 196 and now there are 2 happy families; mine and the people who got a really good deal on my 196. :)
  4. Our lakes are full and that's all. We had some wind but nothing major. We took a couple sets yesterday afternoon here. Just had to wait longer for the backwash to settle. Well that and try to find some of the buoys that are sitting under water. Weird to do a turn around something that appears to be just kind of glowing down below you, I think some height adjusting will be needed as our lakes down't drain really fast!
  5. @Moskier3ev - Jeff what prop do you like on your boat best when running the course? I currently run a 3 blade on my 14 CP
  6. Just in time for the clocks to turn back and take time away from you! :(
  7. @colo_skier as you and a couple others know....................I enjoy guests! :)
  8. 2 sets yesterday after work Air temp - nice 82 Water temp - nice 77 Skiing in shorts and vest until early - mid November = PRICELESS!!!! :)
  9. Has anyone ever considered just announcing what line length the skier is entering the course at vs what amount has been taken off the rope? I certainly haven't been around this game as long as others but it sure is funny every time I have company over or people who or new to the sport in my boat as me "What does 28 off mean?" So when I answer them the first reply is usually "Isn't that a bit stupid? I mean the rope is now only 47 feet long. Why wouldn't you say the skier is coming into the course with a rope length of only 47 ft" I get the theory behind it for us as skiers because it's what i know but I am left shaking my head on occasion and wonder the same thing when trying to help people understand the sport.
  10. Is there a link with some pictures or anything? This is a bit of an odd thread. Unless I'm missing something?
  11. Only a few spots left. 4 more sets filled this morning! Looking forward to the fun times ahead again!
  12. @Dano - isn't there a club up there with a couple courses on Duck Lake? When I grew up in Oyama as a teen it was an active place to course ski. They used to hold a bunch oftournaments there back in the mid to late 80's as well. Lake isn't a tourist lake like Kal, Wood, or Okanagan. Wood Lake used to have one years ago at the north end by Oyama store and as a teen there was one on Kal Lake. Courses on public water are tough things. Not enough people understand them, fishermen seem to hate them, and Joe public just destroys them. I agree with the pyramid approach - the more people exposed the more you will see the sport grow.
  13. As on owner of a 2014 that I just purchased this year I can tell you I LOVE IT!!! I have previously owned 3 other 3 event boats the most recent being a SN 196LE. This boat may not have the bells and whistles that my 196LE had but I didn't buy it for bells and whistles. I bought it to ski and it's a SWEET SWEET machine. Love the wakes, the pull, the interior, etc. Highly recommend the tug!
  14. Few spots available if anyone wants to catch a set or two? Contact me and let me know as our spots usually fill fast and there currently isn't many open spots left.
  15. A lesson from any good ski coach is money well spent! There is lots of good coaches and I'm happy I have access to a good one here in Trent Finlayson is south Texas. I'm a completely different skier than I was the first day I met him! :)

  17. @ShaneH I bet stopping fast on your face at 18 mph on the water feels a whole lot better than stopping on your face at 18 mph on the pavement on your bike!!!!! :)
  18. Man injuries suck but are also a part of any sport no matter what we play? I ski in Radar Strada's and love them. After suffering a torn ankle a few years back and missing 6 weeks of a short Canadian ski season I made the change after talking to TFin. The liner in the bindings and the stretch laces are snug yet they allow me to release in a tough crash. As an improving skier who still makes mistakes I'm confident that when I do have a bad crash my feet and liners will release. Worst case scenario I need to get back up on the platform to get back into my ski.
  19. As stated ski with good skiers. Don't be afraid to spend a wee bit of money and get some good coaching too. It's the best money you will spend on your way to improving.
